This video is going to feature Rare Breed. Maybe some Hard Truth. But probably some more Rare Breed. Then some Rare Breed, and conclude with Rare Breed.
my bottles. Night Starter: Eagle Rare; Go To Pours: Crittendens Double Oaked ; Hipster: Dettling SIB ; bottle Share Old Forester 1910; Small Circle Bottle: Knob Creek 15
Very nice video. I would love to get one of your barrel picks, however Sharedpour doesn't ship to Texas. So I am SOOL. Never fear, your suggestions are still very valid, such as the Hard Truth High Road Rye. Thanks for your channel and your content. I appreciate your candor. Cheers!
We’ve got a Discord full of folks who help each other with picks for what it’s worth. We can’t actually get our own picks due to TN shipping restrictions. Thankful for good people who are always willing to help others.
I keep running into this challenge, but I don't have whiskies for specific occasions, so I couldn't do one of these videos. 🙂 I'm not a rye guy, but I love the two Sagamore Spirit ryes I've had - the regular and the cask strength. Those guys make *fine* whisky. And they have the prettiest bottles I've ever seen. 🙂 I'm a hipster like I'm emperor of the universe, but I was excited about Balcones Distilling before I saw anyone else talking about 'em. Now I see more people who know and appreciate Balcones. To my amazement, Total Wine didn't have any Rare Breed today - but when I was at Kelly Liquors (a local chain) yesterday they had plenty on the shelf. It's bizarre that an outfit that's only in New Mexico would have stuff that a national chain doesn't (and it's true of Hard Truth bourbon too).
Definitely feeling the Sagamore Rye DO pick being born in Baltimore (and it’s just damn good!) as well as the NBC Picks. On a trip to Nashville I was able to thief my own bottle of whiskey and it was soooooo derricious! 👍🏽
H.K. Young. Batch #1, Toasted Barrel 6 yr. Trust me guys, they've already sold out of most of Mid TN. It's incredible. Local and trust me you wont regret it
Great choices as always. I really enjoyed Nashville barrel bottles. I've had both a bourbon and a rye that were picks and fantastic. I have a newer NDP near me and they are killing it. Just did a tasting there and the group I'm in we are going to do a pick with them. Middle West is in my state and they also are just hitting out of the park The Bourbon judge did a pick not to long ago and he was very impressed with the whole experience. Ohio has several top notch distilleries that you should be looking at. Enjoy!!
Love love love the middle west dark pumpernickel rye! It’s a monster in blinds and stands up to allocated/hyped bottles. I have both your pick (mission earth) and a bottle I picked up at their service bar. Hoping one day I can get my hands on the NCF rare breed! Whiskey cheers 🥃
I love bourbons and rye whiskey, but here in Brazil we don't have many options. Recently I found High West Double Rye, which became my favorite rye whiskey available here. But I want to ask you this: Why don't you try Scotch Whisky ? Different taste profile, brands, flavors. There are so many options.
We love Scotch! We've got a backlog of quite a few "Wildcard Wednesday" videos that featured Scotch and we've started incorporating them back into our channel content recently on Monday videos as well. Stay tuned!
Question about the Middle West Dark Rye Pumpernickel. It appears that Erin is holding up the Cask Strength version which seems hard to find. Is the normal version, that I can find locally, worth trying?
Good question. Our retail partnerships vary depending on the pick. Most of our picks are in conjunction with Shared Pour. Some ship through Keg n Bottle and a select few ship from Nashville Barrel Company’s BuySpiritsDirect website. We can’t recall hearing of anyone in Michigan running into shipping restrictions but you can create mock orders on those websites to verify 100% for sure based on your actual address. If you input your address on a mock order and it doesn’t give you a no ship warning then you’re good to go. We also have an entire community that’s willing to help. We actually can’t get our own picks shipped to us due to TN restrictions but we get by with a little help from our community.
A good single barrel pick from a trusted palate. They put their best stuff in the barrel pick program which is cool because each pick is unique and one of a kind. The double edged sword is that each pick is incredibly limited so only 150-170 bottles usually exist. Never had a bad single barrel from them though. Some are just very good and others are downright exceptional.
Before I get started, I think this video is going to feature Rare Breed and...Stagg (or jr) and Tennessee Barrel Company (edit here: whoops, I meant "Nashville" 😂) Ok. I can't know them all but I am semi confident about those 3...here goes
When you take the time and expense to go select barrels that fit your tastes exactly, they’re what you tend to drink most often. It’s like going to buy a custom tailored suit that fits you perfectly and you love wearing. You’d opt to wear that over something off the rack most of the time. Call that whatever you’d like. These are just the bottles we enjoy drinking the most.
Small RU-vid channel? They have 6X the amount of subscribers you guys have 😂 I love both channels tho, not mad atcha. Just saying. 127k isn't small in my opinion
