The current biggest problem with humanoid face robotics is the mouth, when speaking a person uses more than 14 muscles to position the lips, tongue and surrounding facial structures which I'm yet to see any robot emulate effectively. It seems like most robotics companies are concentrating on making the external appearance as close to realistic as possible but without correctly actuated muscle groups we hit the uncanny valley rather quickly. I would love to see what happens when someone makes a robot after studying anatomy and effectively emulating it, maybe some day it'll happen but that day is not now.

So many women or those that are afraid of this that want to get hyper about no male robots on here. First, and I am serious, who would you be more afraid of? Males are viewed as aggressive, and even women admit they will approach a woman before they would approach a man. So female appearance is going to be the first to be seen. Second which is going to be harder to replicate? Men were easy to make look real and as to "personality" well I know it would be easier to catch a fake female robot than to catch a male. So make the more complex and beautiful to the senses so that you can sell the simple cheap and clunky to service uses.

Respectfully disagree. If we ease our way into AI study and regulate it, the nightmare scenarios might not necessarily happen, though. The technology is coming. We can avoid catastrophe largely through common sense, in my opinion.

Yes- Man you're not wrong in saying that avoiding the tech would definitely put a stop to potential catastrophe, surely. But the thing is, it is coming. People are investing a lot to make these ideas real within our lifetime. There isn't a lot we can do to stop it, even if you're right. I think the idea is to utilize it for good, and that could be possible. It could also go very wrong. At this point it should be about making sure we take steps to keep AI in line as an asset. Their hope is that it's possible.

But if I was to talk about that, I honestly wouldn't consider this to be just islamic related. All the religions believe in God, and all have the stories about the end of the world and Gods power over all. Humans are trying to become creators, to imitate the work of God (if we look at it from religious aspect) and it is one of the signs of the end of the world according to religion (any religion, for they are all about the same when it comes to this topic). Bringing religion might not be the best way and I have no idea why the person chose to do it, perhaps they wanted to get comments like your own and start a fight, but there are many comments talking about how they feel scared and that the end of the world is near because of AI being this developed. It's the same if christian or jewish person or hindu or buddhist wrote this same comment, just instead of Allah, they use the name of their own God. Would you say that about Jesus? It would be disrespectful. If you do have a need to argue with this person do that without disrespecting a religion. Just like you said it is a video about science, not religion.

I Would Drown In Your Pussy Lies or not, I am not much of a believer myself, but religion itself isn't to blame, nor is the God or Gods people who believe are worshiping. It's the people who are to blame. Human being has mind to thing with it, to make great things, not to go around hurting others or convincing someone they themselves are Gods (the way many cults have been started). If you do have a need to argue, argue a person, not a religion that has been someone's way to stay alive, or to stay pure. Of course, there are many examples of bad things happening because of certain people going extreme with their religion, but that again is completely choice made by a human, not God or religion. Religion is an idea of a better world, cult is the idea of destroying it. Blame the cult, not religion. Blame human, not God. My point is, don't disrespect what you know nothing, or know very little about. If you don't follow any religion it is your own choice. I am friends with many people who are religious and many atheists as well and we have discussed religion, never even getting near the line of disrespecting anything or anyone. God is not a wizard, but an idea of a supreme being that is ruling the world and is able to make your life better if you believe in it. When one is going through hard period, like when your child is very sick or things like that, they find comfort in religion, wanting to know that appart from looking for help around, they can also ask for help someone or something that can make miracles happen. As long as it makes them happy and keeps people in a good place, one cannot disrespect religion. It's simply an act of someone who doesn't know much and refuses to know more. I respect your opinion, but that doesn't mean you should express it that way. Imagine me now saying this entire idea of robots is stupid and those scientists are retarded because they are never going to be able to make a human, just because my opinion is that way (it's not I'm just giving an example). It would be disrespectful towards all their hard work and hopes and dreams. It makes them happy, they feel they have achieved something in their life and it is something one should admire, not disrespect.
