I love both Andre and Fernandez but, I see both as much needed mainoo competition as we should move on eriksen, doesn’t have the legs anymore. Bringing in one of those two feels like you replace the deep-lying playmaking and high volume passing/ tempo setting of Eriksen with the ground coverage, aggression and tackling of Fred we really miss that sort of player the ability to pull off crazy 90 min man marking jobs while covering every blade of grass such as against Barcelona last year. depending on what united are going for they should pair Andre with a physical 6/8 Wieffer type player who makes up for his aerial ability technical enough to suit the system while allowing Andre to receive from deep Andre can also cover while the other midfielder carries or vice versa. Alternatively I would really like to see Fernandez paired with Hjulmand or Pepelu both players with the ability to split the cb’s to receive from deep both have amazing awareness scanning and tactical awareness allowing Fernandez to be more of and 8 but would thrive in a pivot together with a bit of a bite about him with plenty of legs to cover ground which might be a bit of a weakness for hjulmand and Pepelu if deployed as single pivots this with having the option of Mainoo if you were wanting more of a box to box presence than a double pivot dynamic. Ngolo Kante is very small and he dominates midfields. Joao Neves isn’t even fully grown and is never going to be a lone holder in the prem.

Joao neves would be a class with Kobbie and a CDM behind them - think 2010 Barcelona . Unfortunately with the amount of business United need to do, our current tactical system and his price tag it doesn't make sense for United to go for him.

With Neves, 2 things I'm concerned with is 1. His price tag & 2. His height/size. The kid is truly gifted. But not for £100 -£120M. My 2 that I wouldn't mind going for is the kid from Argentina & Germany. I like the kid from Germany cuz of his height & size. Can you do a scout report on Ferdi Kadıoğlu from Fenerbache, who's playing at the Euros for Turkey? He's only 24, can play LB,RB and CM and is good going forward. He even passes the ETH/Dutch test, having played for the Netherlands at all levels up until the first team, and looks gettable for €25-30m. Arsenal and Dortmund have both had bids rejected, so we could do the same as when we got Martinez and Malacia, and sneak once other clubs had set the price.

Fernandez, Martel, André. 3 players combiner still cheaper than neves. If you get a couple of them it's a win win situation selling on or keeping.

We need critical height somewhere in midfield. With Martinez, as good as he is, we lack basic height in defence, and when we start getting done at set pieces like at the start of last season, what do we do? Wharton scrapes in at 6 ft. And that's the tallest out of those five. If we play our so called "best 11" we have to look at Onana, Shaw (IF he's fit) and Hojlund and HOPE our new Centre Back is a big bastard as they'd be the only players OVER 6ft tall. Any of the "lower ranked teams" managers are going to look at United and go with "Operation Obvious" and play a bunch of lanky strongmen, keep the ball off the ground, and dominate set pieces. And if you need reminding what I mean by "Critical" height, just remember when Forest scored from one of OUR corners at the beginning of last season.
