What about the scanning guy on the pole??? His life is utterly pointless, and he knows it. He probably joined the rebellion to fight on the front lines, prepared to die for what he believes in... and then got stuck on top of a pole with nothing but a barcode scanner and an injured ego to keep him company.
Well he scanned for incoming ships. He is the Alliances eyes and ears. As a bit of out of universe trivia, the actor who played the trooper was an ILM employee who "won" the part because he didn't have any kids at the time.
_At Echo Base on Hoth_ *Sarge:* We need someone to clean out the TaunTaun cages again… what do you care, the manure is frozen? *New recruit:* Because it's frozen, it has to be chiseled out. *Sarge:* Just use a blaster on low power to heat it up then… *New recruit:* It heats unevenly and explodes. That's what happens to Jenkins, poop shrapnel hit him and now he's in medical with severely infected wounds.
At least some are skilled though. Rebel Infantry never struck me as being that good. I honestly think Stormtroopers are more skilled on average, but they suffer from not being allowed to "think" during combat. Neither can hold a candle to Clone Troopers though in terms of skill and talent.
That's because we glorify the idea of it, but the reality of war is awful. In fiction and reality. It's all blood and disease and hunger and fear. And that's just the wait between battles. The battles were worse.
Wookie Barber… Febrezing Chewie. And getting the *dags out of his Fur. [*Bits of dried poop stuck to the coat] Otherwise no one will use a chair after Chewie sits in it.
Worse job, being a _no name character_ standing near or the wingman of a main character that _has plot armour._ You may as well wear a *Red Shirt,* it's the one time a Stormtrooper can shoot straight.
I think a game focused around a Rebel spy could be really good. But to make it work it has to be very committed to a dark tone. Not light hearted to appeal to kids. Develop relationships between the characters only to put the protagonist in a situation to spare their friend at the cost of the well-being of the Alliance, or betray and murder them to keep things running smoothly elsewhere. Make decisions matter in a dark and gritty Star Wars universe
In empire at war i had to take on an imperial fleet and lost all my ships except my transport ships that i had sent to the rear so in an act of desperation i charged the battered and bloodied imperial forces at them and won.
Meanwhile: Top 5 worst jobs in the Galactic Empire 1# being a buckethead AKA every imperial solider and Officer This is your Daily Rebel holocast thank you for listening
@@eliteified4124 No the worst jobs in the Empire are 1. TIE Pilot you are basically in a flying coffin 2. Dark Trooper Phase Zero most of them actually preferred suicide to being a cyborg soldier. That is why they switched to pure droids for the next phases 3. Clone Stormtrooper the EU makes it clear most Clone Troopers who were in Stormtrooper Corps reacted to their non-clone comrades as "I'm surrounded by idiots" 4. Radtrooper You have to work in radioactive zones that are not survive for regular Stormtroopers and since most of time these zones were places neutron bombed by the Empire, there are rarely any hostiles and the few times there are, you can't rely on your blaster to save and have to use a melee weapon. 5. Planetary Governor Technically, they are part of the Imperial Bureaucracy, but they hold little power any request to the sector's Moff or to the military is taken as a polite suggestion they will get around when they feel like it.
@Blake Tyson im a big Star Wars fan, yes you are right...... but your forgetting basically everyone that was enlisted in the empire they have a mandatory death that they have to attend let’s be honest here XD.... but yes you are right I could not really have worded that much better
@@indianajones4321 1 SRT Transport Droids they will burn their components in under a year and never leave the factory that created them. 2. Any job that forces you to be close to General Grievous better make out your will when you first get word of the transfer. 3. Firefighter Droids. When there is a fire on the ship normally something has gone horribly horribly wrong. 4. PK Droids. Picture this you are droid who has to take orders from others and yet you are related to the incredibly sociable 3P0 line of Protocol Droids you get no respect at all. 5. Demolition Droids. They are programmed to be suicide bombers need I say more.
Logistics for #1 Hey guys… Why don't we use Droids to support the troops? Issue #2 Say… don't they also make repair Droids that can act as mechanics and workshop assistants? Yeh, we're getting some along with the flight simulators. #3 and #4, umm… good luck. #5 you're in your own, here's a instant poison capsule implant, careful… it's also triggered if you get hit with a stun blaster. Believe me that's for the best.
#1 Data capture rates. #2 All money goes to shipyards, talk to Mothma about it if you're brave. #5...Don't talk about 'lullabies' in the open, ISB is scanning the HoloNet.
1. Logistics is under-appreciated but very important for any military. As Napoleon said, "An army runs on its stomach" 2. Repair Droids are only so good.
i feel bad for the maintenance technicians because trying to maintain a massive fleet of starfighters and troop or freight transport ships must be a nightmare
When flying the A-Wing in "Star Wars: X-Wing" i also usually lower the shields just to gain extra speed and rely on dodging enemy fire. In the second mission where you have to scan Imperial ships i also turn off the weapons power making the A-Wing even more faster. Sometimes after completing the mission objectives i rearm them to hunt some Tie Fighters before hyperjumping out of the mission area.
Yeah that's a good video! At least some types are slightly better condition than the Vietcong fighters and the Mujahideen fighters from the Cold War. Right? And please make 5 worst jobs in the Resistance in the future?
I know a even worse rebel job: jedi Not only are you bringing a shit load of danger for yourself, but the other ones your with. your gonna be hunted by inquisitors, shadow guards and the worst: darth vader There are also better things to do as a jedi in this time then being in the front line. Sure you might have to skill to do a bigger scar then a ordinary rebel partisan but your still under threat by the empire just like the others but worse. a human rebel probably would serve time in a prison but if you were a jedi you would be tortured
Good list. What about the rebel engineers who had to set up the bases on Yavin 4 and Hoth? They’d have to arrive first with minimal equipment and manpower to get everything setup for the rest of the alliance that would be arriving. Perimeter sentries for those bases wouldn’t have a good time of it either; exposed to the elements and any advance enemy fire (I.e. first to die). Y-Wing pilots had the slowest starfighters, being bombers instead of dog fighters, and were more exposed to enemy fighters unless they had escorts (in-spite of their heavy arsenal and shields).
Whatever happened to Lieutenant Lyste after Kallus had him arrested. Thrawn knew that Kallus was the spy after that episode and Lyste is never seen again. I'm sure this question was answered a while ago so I might not have enough brain cells to put the pieces together.
You left out the two collection of most horrible jobs.. on both sides; the dreaded sanitation tasks -(from merely mopping the floors endlessly, to all wast matter plumbing maintenance, and then there's...medical stations triash where the stress levels can't be measured when dealing with horribly mangled victims of battle...with insufficient medication supplies -of any kind, dealing with post-trama mental disorders...
The Airborne units were not Pathfinders there's actually a unit called Pathfinder unit which they don't have anymore I would know I served for 4 years in a rapid deployment unit
The Rebel Alliance's Mid Rim Offensive reminds me alot of the Tet Offensive in 1968 by the Vietcong and NVA although the Tet Offensive achieved some success against U.S. and South Vietnamese froces the Vietcong and NVA were eventually pushed back to North Vietnam. Just like how Rebels achieved some success in the Mid Rim in capturing Imperial Worlds but were eventually forced to retreat from the Mid Rim once the Empire's reinforcements arrived which led to a cat and mouse game between the Empire and the Rebels which eventually led to the Battle of Hoth
Regarding the T-shirts. What if the visiting Aliens _are Dolphins?_ Then we are screwed, in more than one way. [There's also rumoured to be a whale probe in transit].
Special forces units are supposed to be the MOST experienced and usually the DEADLIEST AND BEST fighters a force has.. doesn't matter if your outnumbered if you fight better then your enemy. An a transport pilot.. I'd likened it to a public transportation bus over a civilians mini van. As Van's are faster an alot more maneuverable. Bet if you DID get that Rebel Transport to a decent speed if it's so poor at moving I imagine when it IS moving it's hard to control
Inperial navy oficers and comanders had a high suacide rate due to they knew what failure was greated with. Rebuls logistic oficers had higher suacide rate.....
Mobile infantry....this the same type of ground pounders that fought on the End or moon to take out the shield generator? I have heard this group called "pathfinders".
Same job description. Pathfinders are SpecForce, 2nd regiment of each division. Basically scout + commando. Wilderness fighters have a similar training but mostly commando. Mobile infantry is the usual run and shoot. At least how I see it.
No not really mobile infantry are the basic grunts of the army Spec Force Pathfinders are the dudes in Rogue One scouts who establish a beachhead for the main force. Wilderness Fighter were the dudes used at Endor they are trained to fight in a variety of different environments with a specialization for a particular environment.
Ah. I see now. Thank you....so the the rebellion troops are spec forces....makes sense....Years back I had read that each rebel trooper on End or was specifically chosen for that mission....and supposedly the white bearded trooper was clone commander Rex...
@@TheStarshipdriver Well the thing with Rex was mostly a fan theory. The EU had him be a separate character and established that the Endor Team were all volunteers mostly veterans from Hoth who were attached to Alliance High Command.
They didn't bother with Dathomir much because it was had one of the heaviest Imperial Presences outside of the Core Worlds. Palpatine was taking no chances in making sure the witches stayed on the planet.
Call me a cynic but I believe you the position of cook would fall into that next to impossible positions between the lack of supplies and the wide variety of species you have to cook for I believe that would be one hair racing job or better put one job that has a very very short life expectancy
"A WINGS" the pinnacle of one shot death traps, yet everyone wants to fly them....why???? "PBI" Or "poor bloody infantry" will always be my first choice on the battlefield. Be it fighting in games like Planetside 2 or ARMA I will always take my chances on foot rather than fly or drive to my inevitable death. Even in Mech games I would rather take my chances on foot if they would just let me.
Legends A-Wing >>>>>>> Canon A-Wing (Cause in Legends they had shields) Also I notice the Rebel Alliance was far more organized in Legends, wonder why they nerfed them in Disney's canon?
Because Disney is full idiots and unnecessary retcons. Like the A-Wing not being an In-house Rebel Design or the Death Star using Kyber Crystals or how they doomed the Genosisians to Extinction.
Nah Sector Forces. You are more than likely on a shoestring budget and there is a chance the main Rebel Alliance will take what you have for their needs. Also the stuff is plain suicidal you have no backup no bases to retreat to if your main one is attacked. No rescue.
I always thought those poor infantry dudes on Hoth was beyond fucked. So all the transports are leaving but they’re staying behind to fight Imperial walkers?
The twilight, or whatever mobile infantry.... how can you suffer over 100 casualties? Anyone else find that somehow impossible to still stand with that? And I know they replaced there losers with the natives but BRUV you would eventually just kind of give up and die, right? And run out of replacements?
I’m sorry wit “and survival was basically impossible if u stayed with these organizations long enough” ( 4:02 ) , “spare parts and mechanical expertise lacking and so flying this thing is basically a death wish” ( 5:53 )this making me want to join the empire a bit more now, “killed or captured by the Empire ( 7:03 ) yeah I’m sure I’m with the empire know XD ( 8:03 ) “altirelly and machine gun fire “
Funny thing: the TIE Defender Advanced would have beat every other fighter out in its core category if it had been mass produced. Faster than an A-wing, heavier weapons than a Y or B wing, better shields than an anything, faster hyperdrive than a U-wing, More ion cannons and tractor beams than a light Gunship... it was kind of unbeatable, aside from its cost... which was more expensive than some capital ships.
That is what a stock TIE Defender would do. It also wasn't that expensive the real reason it wasn't mass produced is because the Empire was soured on it because the main designer tried to use the things in an ill-fated coup.
Blake Tyson In legends. In canon, Thrawn built them, and the stock variant wasn’t quite as high-level, and had to go through a few prototypes first, and had the funding stolen by the DS-1-
@@SchneeflockeMonsoon I never really understood that the Empire was building the Death Star for decades they could afford to fund other projects like Thrawn's.
Blake Tyson Krenic wanted to finish it faster and better, and so he grabbed funds from other projects whenever he could. Especially when he though the project was a threat to his. Like say, a fighter that rendered light capital ships obsolete and could theoretically be mass-produced and end the entirety of the tarkin doctrine?
