Every parent makes dumb mistakes. For all we know they might’ve been planning to buy the proper protective gear for it, but since she was so excited they thought it would be okay to let her ride for a bit as long as they were closely watching her, especially since she was on grass. It’s easy in hindsight to see what they did wrong, but they were watching her so closely it wouldn’t have seemed like a big deal to let her ride for a few minutes to get all that excitement out. What matters is they were there when it happened, the child is safe and healthy, and it won’t ever happen again.

Elle Marie I mean I get where your coming from but that’s sorta the problem. There’s a 100% chance she could have gotten hurt even if they let her ride it for just a bit. Assuming they were going to buy proper safety wear they should have made her wait or what’s the use of safety wear? All parents make mistakes and I understand that but this one was easily preventable.

They might not be able to afford one because food and bills comes before a HELMET

@Your Nan A helmet isn't necessarily going to prevent this type of accident from happening. A helmet will protect her head from getting hit, not getting scalped. Your hair still hangs out the back of the helmet unless you tie it up, and the helmet may not have fit her head if she was wearing a bun. The parents should have made sure that belt wasn't exposed.
