Matt Farrell sometimes you don’t cause if you don’t sometimes you don’t see what’s wrong. There could have been something lose or something was flapping. You would not have known what the problem was unless you turn the car on and get the engine running. But I get you.
I work on my car and tractors all the time and always turn the engines off but the other day forgot to cause I was being absent mind and almost lost a finger so why don’t you ease up this women for making a mistake

@@SuperMontsta If you know what you're doing it isnt an issue. You actually need the engine running for numerous things when working on an engine, just don't be dumb and dangle your hair, loose clothing or wear rings when near any moving parts, especially if you don't know a thing about vehicles

Quindixie not only does the fan spin, but so do the pulleys and the belts.... which (on 90% of vehicles) is all right there on the front part of the engine right when you pop the hood...all visible. if you pop your hood intending to check and or listen to the vehicle...it is more or less common sense to pull your hair back if you have long hair.

Daniel P I actually do. Turning it off doesn’t exist because “turning off means instant shut off for example, turning off your flashlight, electric light turns off instantly killing energy. Killing the car is right because it needs time to completely shut it down, hence “killing” it. When you kill something it still has energy for X amount of time. I ACTUALLY DO KNOW.
I like my hair....and I'm a man. I get if anyone(women included) sees their hair as being of sentimental value to them. However, there's more to you than your hair. If you're young, it'll grow back, and when you die, your hair will decompose into the ground anyway.

I was almost killed when a draw string for my hoody started get hit by the radiator fan. I quickly looked down and moved back fast. There was no fan guard covering it.

I've seen several men who were killed because their TIE was caught in the fan belt. That's why you should never allow a white-collar worker (especially men) anywhere near the engine of a car.
This same thing happened to my neighbor, except her WHOLE head was scalped. I can’t exactly remember how she said it happened but it happened at a factory she worked at, I think her hair somehow got caught in a conveyor belt or something. Her left ear came off along with her scalp. Had to take skin grafts from her thighs and get an artificial ear. I can’t even imagine how terrible it was.
If replacing a part, sure, you have to have the car off. But diagnosing a problem is different. For example, diagnosing a problem with the radiator fan. You have to keep the car running for the engine to get hot enough to turn the fan on. If the fan doesn't turn on and the car starts to overheat, you know that the fan is bad, the thermostat, or the switch. Or maybe a combination, as was the problem in my dad's Celica. She was an idiot for not tying her hair up though. That's just common sense.
Who works on a car, while its running?? Plus the heat the engine throws out makes it impossible to stick a finger in the engine bay without feeling the burning sensation smfh
ive worked on my car plenty of times while it was running adjusting the distributor and intake but it was not run for very long those adjustments only take a minuite or 2 never got very hot (edit i have burned myself like an idiot tho when i first started at my mechanic job i fried my elbow on a turbo manifold xD)

They have the motivation and want to prove themselves but as soon as they gotta be out in the rain getting muddy or below zero, when they can't physically run or pick up equipment instead of dealing with their limitations they pout off and quit, blaming us that we set them up to fail. Real world not tv nonsense. I'm not hating and there's plenty of things women do a lot better than men in the work force.

A beautiful woman with a beautiful family. I get freaked out when people see my cancer scars, my friends all told me to treat it like badges of survival. It didn't set in for me, and I empathize if she doesn't either. That young doctor also has a good heart, he seems young, hopeful and talented - Blessed on every count, keep living - move forward. Life is good, and tomorrow is always worth it.
Not just WARNING TO WOMEN! It can happen to ANYONE!! Long hair,short hair,if there's a moving part and you're not careful.. Happened to me,wearing baseball cap and working on overhead Conveyors, felt as someone from behind yanked my head. Yes got scalped also.
Oh my goodness, that poor lady! I'm so glad she seems to be recovering well. Her kids were amazing. Not that I know how to fix cars but I'm keeping my hair short!
