You should do a full face using only drugstore brushes. Idk but I feel when I watch videos they always use more expensive brushes. I think it would be cool to see a review type thing on drugstore brushes because you don’t see those a lot.

Ecotools is a really good brush brand at the drugstore. Ive gotten mine from Walmart and the brushes are SO soft and also not too expensive.

Please like this idea! I've had it too! Crappy brushes and high end vs cheaper, questionably useful products done with, say Scott's brushes. I wanted to see what he could actually do with dollar store makeup. It would really sell his makeup master classes lol. "I can make crap look like art!"

Something I've found that really helps to prolong my polish life and keep it from chipping is to make sure you're "wrapping the tip" with polish. So when you're doing it yourself, bring the polish all the way up and around the tips of your nails and paint just a little bit of the underside. Works wonders for me!

You are the only person who’s ever described exactly why I don’t like nail salons. Especially doing gel nails and the time it takes and the back and forth, it gives me the worst anxiety because I can’t just leave. They’ll try to do the hand massage at the end and I’m like no thank you. So I can’t just get out of there. Finally someone understands 🙌

I never let anyone do my face or nails. Those are my strong points and no one knows my face and how I like my nails like I do. CND original shellac is the best. No need to file the nails down. I use silicon finger tips rather than foil. Lasts as long as gel without all the damage. Solar oil helps keep cuticles soft and strengthens nails. I love how you contour!

Tati you can do gels at home it’s very easy - dehydrator, Bonder, soak off gel base coat, 1/2 nail polish 1/2 gel top coat mixed together, do twice as many (thin coats) as normal nail polish manicure (so probably 4 coats), cure between each layer. Lasts until I take if off. It will actually grow all the way out on your nails. Hope this makes someone’s day!

I really like the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel as a top coat, even if I'm using regular polish - it won't chip, because it's very flexible. I love it!

The gel bubbled because it was applied too thickly. It doesn’t cure completely and causes bubbles and wrinkles. A good base coat will help chipping. Orly Bonder is a great one. Glisten and Glow Top Coat works well.

hope you get makeup revolution, it's my fave new brand I think.. but it's so new I'm still figuring out what's good, what's not... I wanna hear about Catrice and Essence too, I had never heard of those brands or ALOT of drugstore brands (that weren't loreal, Maybelline. CoverGirl, Neutrogena, etc...) until RU-vid, and I only started watching like 2-3yrs ago? So I'm still getting to know a lot of products =).. But in Lithuania you must-have brands that we don't, right?

The Orly "won't chip" topper is super thin, shiny, and makes my nails last around a week. That's a long time for me, since I also use my nails for everything! When used with either the Orly Rubberized base coat or Caption base coat they last a while. And the Essie gel like top coat in the twisty white bottle is really a good, thick, and shiny top coat. They all dry fast, too!

Revlon Diamond Gel Topcoat...hands down the best! Nail polish lasts up to two full weeks without chipping 😉

1. It should Not take 45 mins to soak off gel polish. 2. There is no need to grind anything off. I get them of in 10 to 15 mins and then GENTLY scrape the excess and resoak 5 mins if needed. Sounds like your salon is rushing its clientele out the door for more money. Find a new salon that will care for your nails and NOT your money

I honestly think it depends on the polish and the condition the polish is in when it is going to be soaked off. If it’s already lifting, it’ll be probably 15 MAX. If it’s still perfectly on, it’ll take about 30-45 minutes for them to come off.

I think you should file off the top coat, then soak off the polish. But i just file off everything with a nail drill. It takes less time, and if you know what you're doing, it actually is better for your nails than acetone. I never touch the nail surface, just file down to the base coat

I love the Makeup Forever Pro Fusion bronzer in 20M! Has a lot of similarities to the Butter bronzer -- satin finish, easy to blend, not patchy or too pigmented!

Omg I am so glad to know I am not the only person who gets anxiety about that. I do my own acrylics at home, when waiting for them to set completely, I get R A N K anxiety bcs I feel like I can’t do anything and sometimes will just sit there and have a panic attack because of it, but by the time I’m done freaking out they are normally dry! Clinical anxiety is a weird thing y’all.

I have never had gel nails, but I've heard that they hurt quite a bit. I get my nails done every 2-3 weeks and I get SNS powder. It. Is. AMAZING! I've always bit my nails, and they've been super thin, but the powder has helped me grow them out, and it's not as damaging. I love it.

Always request a manual buff with a buffing block instead of the electric buffer on your natural nail. Don't put acetone into any nail polish, even with conventional lacquer it will damage the formula - buy thinner. Look into the method for applying gel topcoat over conventional lacquer. It's easiest to remove. Or look into acrylic dip, it is easier to remove than gel and less damaging to your nails than gel or acrylic nails.

Gelous nail gel base coat from Sally's! It's a clear bottle with a green cap. Its not a top coat, but you layer it with regular polish and it's amazing at preventing chips!

I can get regular nail polish to last two weeks with barely a chip with this combination: Orly Bonder base coat, regular OPI polish (none of the fancy formulas), and the Seche Vite topcoat. That combo works like a charm. Oh-and I wash my hands with Dawn dish soap first, to remove any oil from my nails. Works every time.

Seche Vite is still my best anti-chip top-coat, but I have found that it can be helpful to put on a 2nd coat of it the day after I do my nails. I find that it leaves kind of a flexible acrylic coating on my nails. Anything that says 'nail hardener' or something to that effect on the package is a no-go for me. I find that harder finishes don't bend with my nails and chip easier. I'm the same way and am not super careful with my nails all the time, but I can usually get my nails to last at least 5-7 days without a chip using Seche Vite, as long as I use a good nail color that doesn't like to chip (if that's the case, then no top coat will help).

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel top coat is my favorite! It goes great over any nail polish I've tried and makes it look like they've been done at a nail salon. I always use a base coat, so I'm not sure how much that impacts the longevity, but mine usually last 5-7 days without any big chips.

Tati, try the Essie Gel Couture line! Just two coats of the polish and one coat of the top coat and it lasts for at least a week without a single chip! I’ve even tried the top coat over regular polish and it still extends the wear time!

Girl yes. I had a similar nail salon story. They shaved down my entire nail SO thin it hurt to get things out of my purse. Never again. For 3 months I was religious about keeping them as short as humanly possible, taking biotin, using tail tek and Trader Joe’s balm 5000 times a day. 3 months later and now 5 my nails are long and hard as rocks. No more gel or powder for me. Done.

I have had good luck with both Essie's Speed Setter top coat and Night Owl Laquer's Patience Not Required top coat. Both have lasted a week on me. Also using a sticky base coat like Orly' s Bonder base coat also extends the life of your nail polish.

Removing gel polish should not hurt. If you are doing only polish there is no need to grind your nails, at most a light file to rough up the top coat making it easier for acetone to get through. Also for gel-like finish without the light, OPI infinite shine collection

Essie Gel Setter top coat is the BEST I’ve found so far. I use it over OPI or KL Polish and it makes my manicure last at least 4 days without chipping! And I work in a restaurant every day, so that says a lot.

Ulta has dip nails. you can do like acrylic nails yourself at home, and don't have to grind your nails down. It lasts forever!

@@breeanne1974 no is hard like acrylic nails. You paint on a base coat dip it in powder and file it so it's smooth and then put a top coat. They are hard and last like acrylic nails do but you only have to file the shine off your nail instead of grinding it down

I like to use Kiss artificial nails, especially the Impress press-on nails. They last about a week with no chipping. If there is a pattern, sometimes the edges will wear down to a solid color, but it's not really noticeable. You put them on and take them off yourself, but it takes less time than a professional manicure and costs a lot less, too. 💅

You can do gel polish at home. There are these strips that you can apply to your nail and then apply the polish on top so that it doesn't actually cure on your natural nail. Makes for easy removal too!

hey, im a nail technician and are sorry for your story... the bubbles in the gel happened. ecause probably she didnt let the first step of the gel cure the time it should, maybe she was a starting technician 🤗 if the gel is work like it should, you should not have problems with your nails being strong . I've noticed in my experience from never getting my nails done and having extra strong nails to going in three times to get my nails done with gel at a salon my nails became very thin. I am over getting my nails done, I did it three times in my life and that's the end of it.
