But it's not easy to visit those places , it takes a plane, or hours in a car or train or greyhound bus and the changes , costs a fortune travel & hotel costs .. I'd rather stay living in England Spain or south of France Mediterranean just an hour away. Roman towns ,saxon buildings medieval castles , and streets Just 5 mins walk from most people's homes . We have so much , so close

It's great if youre loaded with money ( everything is about money here) It costs 100k a year to live here modestly . Most earn about 35k a year and work 2 years to earn a five day vacation, no sick days, no personal days , most aren't paid for holidays and don't have reasonable medical insurance. It's constant pressure. That's the reality and there is no safety net, if you fall you're homeless! You're forced to own at least one vehicle and that with insurance and fuel runs 12k a year for each. Most are so busy on that hamster wheel they never see much of the country.
