I absolutely love this video. I went to Romania for the first time a few months ago and fell in love with the people, the food, palinca (😃), the land and yes, the language. I am actively trying to learn Romanian and made several friends while I was there that I keep in touch with. Your video is probably the best video I have found on learning vocabulary and phrases. Thankyou, i am trying to learn Romanian...i was in Romania 2X...in Tarnaveni, Medias, Sighisoara, Sovata, and Bucarest...beautiful country with friendly people...wonderful churches (we brought a church bell from the Netherlands to a small gypsy church in Tarnaveni)...and delicious ciorba de burta soup...and the best chocolate cake i ever tasted😋

BUNĂ NAOMI! Eu sunt din Bacău, și am venit în Canada la 6 an. Am vrut foarte mult să vorbesc limba romană pentru, părinți mea. Eu am 20 de ani acuma, și am vrut să încearcă să vorba Română. Am niște regret în viața mea, pentru examplu, n-am vorbit prea mult romăna in casa mea pentru n-am vrut să fie foarte diferent de prieten mea creștere. Dar acuma am o perspectiva diferent. îmi place mult să vorbesc cu mama și cu tata in romană. Eu sunt foarte fericit că am o prientie, și o învățat umpic de romană pe channal ta! Și me București foarte mult că tu ai făcut o video/filme că limba romană este foarte mișto! Tu ai făcut treaba de domnul să învață cine va vrei să întreacă la romană! Yea right now I’m still learning Romanian but it’s getting pretty good, I can have decent conversations with my parents, I do regret not speaking more Romanian growing up but it’s never to late. My friend is learning too and He appreciates people who make videos like these. I think it’s pretty boss too. Thank you so much for making this video and it has resparked a passion for my culture, my home, and my life. God bless😁

Hello Naomi. Actually the sound was good. You also did a good job. I started Romanian in January 2021 and so I have a lot of sentences already from other sources. This means a few of your sentences were discovered to be duplicates. But I like hearing your pronunciation. Not every Romanian speaks the same way. Yes, please produce more videos like this one.

I began learning Romanian at the beginning of February this year, and this is honestly one of the most helpful and enjoyable videos i have seen about the Romanian language. (I’m already already advanced in Spanish) and love the similarities between these languages, and also love you beautiful Romanian sounds. Please do make more! Honestly most Romanians don't speak much English. Especially those over 40. That's like saying Greeks speak English... um not really. Very basic level.

Thats kind of true. But i know 4 adults above 40 who speak English fluently. I also know about 7 Romanians who speak English fluently

@@emaan05 Yeah there are exceptions but in general the Romanian people over 45 don't speak English well or not at all, let's put it that way.

@@emaan05 My experience has generally been that people older than me rarely speak good English in Romania, and I'm 39. There are some exceptions of course but they are not the rule. Fluent speakers of English in Romania are actually a lot more rare than one would think/hope in general, though. Yeah it's better than the rest of Eastern Europe probably but that's not saying much. Also the accent of most of them is so strong as to make it almost unlistenable and fairly unpleasant. They should really try harder. Still better than French and Italians though. Note: My gf speaks English fluently with little accent and is 32. PS I'm not an English snob or cultural supremacist, it's just how it is.

Very surprised you didn't didn't include Ce Faci? as it's one of the most common greetings in Romanian. After Buna/Salut, the Romanians i know always ask Ce Faci? Or at least esti Bine? But i learnt a lot of new phrases from this video so mulțumesc foarte mult

Romanian Da( yes) derives from Latin "Ita'"( thuss,so) There are examples in many languages,when "t" is interchangeable with "d" The best example is Italian "Da vero'" from Latin "Ita' vero" Otto(8) in Italian becomes "Oddo" Tu ( you) in Latin/ Du in German Tati/ Daddy Visigoths becomes Vizigodos in Spanish Da is used instead of "the" in Chicago area ( Da Bears/ Chicago Bears) Da Boyz/ rap slang "Ida" is instead of Da in Bihor Romania Bulgars adopted Da from Romanian and their priests introduced to Russians via Ortodoxism Notice that Belarusians are Russians and don't say Da, but the real Slavic word for yes "Tak" short from Tako' (so) like Polish and Ucrainians. Kashubians say Jo Slovenians say Ja Slovacs say Ano.

First learn genders of the words…feminine/masculine/neutral all that, then learn singular to plural, then learn the adjective before noun rule and finally how to add “the” to a word…learn those four things and piecing together sentences MIGHT become un pic mai ușorrrrrrrrr

Idk, when I learn a language (I used to move about a bit) the biggest factor was wholeheartedly trying to speak the language to native speakers and yes fuck up and yes embarrass myself (that goes away fast). Almost like creating scenarios where you have to speak it make you develop the fastest 🤷‍♂️

Romana mea inca nu mare, dar te poti vize asta. Eu foarte bucura sa invat acest limba, dar felul ma folosi Romana se foarte evident ca Engleza este primul limba mea, insa sunt ce in ce mai bine zilnic. Sau fiecare zi...nu stiu. Oricum, Stiu aproape 600 cuvinte pana acum, dar e doar patru si jumatate lunii, deci cred am facut bine pana acum. Sper sa fi in Bucuresti Iulie si August anul viitoare. E foarte dragut limba, si sunt fericit ca incepe invat. Poate acest se tot greu sa cite, insa e mai buna ma pot facut chiar acum. Stiu ca eu voi fi fluenta in un an sau doi. But so many Romanians speak English that I think I'll be ok 😂

Being a Latin derived language, Romanian is very similar to Italian, even if some Slavic words are present. Once this similarity is recognised, learning and understanding Romanian is relatively easy ( for a fluent Italian speaker). Reading it is like reading Italian or for that matter Spanish.

No, not like German. In German, second person plural informal (ihr) is a different word than second person formal (Sie).

Bună - Hello. Am urechea formată pentru limbi și pariez pe toți banii că ai crescut în Ardeal, accentul ardelenesc se simte mai ales fiindcă ai tendința să pronunți „e-urile” ca si cum ar fi si un „i” lângă ele: „s-ar putiea”, „româna miea”. Dar ești foarte simpatică. Deci, unde ți-ai petrecut copilăria? God bless you, keep up the good job!
