Additional polish to add to your game. If you idle for too long the sheep start eating the grass. Add desire lines in the ground to show where you’ve been. Could also regrow the trampled grass or turn all the flat textured ground into tall grass if idling too long. Add flowers or snowmen that have physics and fall apart when touched.
I think a cutscene when transitioning to a new environment would be so cool. So for example when going to the moon environment, the sheep would get into a rocket ship and fly to the moon. Or when they transition to the underwater, they'd get into a ship and sink into the bottom of the ocean.
For the underwater level, maybe try adding a simple shader for water reflections on the ground. I think they're called caustics. It could make it just a little more obvious that you're underwater :)
You should add smth like story to the game. Like first the ships are escaping the butchery, they need to avoid saws. after a few levels sheeps are on fields running from old rancher, next levels the sheeps will get caught by wolfs so you need to get them out of the forest while avoiding wolfs. Next they are going over the river bridge, it collapses and sheeps gets rescued by fishermans. Fishermans and their boat gets eaten by kraken so sheeps need to get out of the underwater. Its just an example of plot of the game, cuz now the whole point of this game is... it isnt even exist. So I think it would be great idea to have main goal for these sheeps. Anyways I love your talent! keep it up man, can't wait to play full version
Would be sweet to see a African Sahara level with stampedes of lions, giraffes, elephants, rhinos, etc to watch out for! I would also love to see a South East Asian level that takes place in he jungle (kind of like Indiana Jones) with temples and boobytraps like blow darts and rope traps to look out for! Third, an Island level perhaps taking place on Hawaii with lava and falling trees to watch out for! Fourth, a futuristic level that takes please in year 3000 with modern looking sky scrapers all around and futuristic police trying to catch the sheep on hover scooters/boards/bikes as the sheep should not be in the city. Fifth, colosseum levels taking place in Ancient Rome where they have cross from one end of the area to the other, dodging flying spears, swords, gladiators, hammers, and other ancient weapons while the crowd cheers and their reactions change depending on what's happening on screen (sheep taken = oooooo) (sheep escapes = cheer) (sheeps not moving = boooo) Sixth a pirate level, similar to the colosseum, however their goal is to cross the pirate ship to get on their transport which will take them to their bar, hooks are being thrown, spears, eye balls, eye patches, peg legs, etc (maybe even massive tentacles come up from under the ship and slam down on the boat, alerting the player where it will land with a shadow and rocking the whole boat, sending the ships left or right when it slams down.) Finally on top of a city would be sweet! Like the sheep have to parkour from building to building using different obstacles on the buildings like umbrellas to bounce over gaps, knock over poles to walk across, etc. You're doing great man! Keep it up! Love to see it!
These are all such awesome and creative ideas holyyy, I think the focus at the moment will be filling up the environments we already have with levels but as soon as we finish that I can't wait to mess around with these ideas! Writing them all down on the trello board plans!
Awesome little game you have going here! The biggest suggestion I can make is that each of the different "locations" need a different portal area. You started off in a field where the barn makes sense to the location but, once you get to the underwater location or the space location, a barn feels really out of place for the theme. For example, in the space location instead of the little rocket there for decoration, the rocket can be bigger and be the target you're trying to get the sheep to. Keep up the great work!
1. ) for the space levels the sheep would need a little space helmet (maybe even space boots or/and a space suit) 2. ) For the underwater levels, a scuba suit or a snorkel? 3. ) For a new environment you could maybe go for an airport runway where there are taxiing planes, and the sheep would have some hi-vis jackets?
Maybe a level or mechanic could be with slime or honey that make the sheep get stuck or slows them down significantly would be fun :D love seeing the progress on this
Would definitely be nice if the barn rooftop got covered in snow in the snowy levels! Maybe even had some holes in the roof from the meteors in the space levels?
Underwater Level: Bubble geysers that carry the sheep to surface. Forest Level: Berry bushes that causes the sheep to roll away into nearby wolves OR when the sheep run into berry bushes it dyes their wool into different colours and can only go into the correlating barn of colour.
Adding more of an indicator for incoming vehicles and trains could make it feel less luck based. Either something like a little warning graphic at the location they will be coming from, or being able could hear them from further away could work nicely. For the ocean level you should add a kraken that grabs your sheep. Or, what if they were in little diving suits and you had to make sure they didn't run out of oxygen, and moving used up more oxygen. Love the game!
This is pretty cool, I stumbled here on accident, here's a few idea's of my brain; Levels; - Steampunk World - Dead world (burned in ashes, dead tree's, no water..) - Fantasy World (unicorns, dragons, druïde, elfs with bows) - Volcano world (Slowly covers the world with lava so you have to be quick) - Sky world (The sheeps flies by wind or sits in some kind of plane to move them) Obstacles; - A hoard of wild running chickens with sharp beaks - A do not press the button which does smth crazy if a sheep lands on it - (Maybe a special kind), having 3 sheeps on a leash and you need to move 3 big wolfs in out of the fence on the other side of the sheeps

For the underwater level, you could have bubbles act as a stationary obstacle that traps the sheep and after a bit of time a crab rolls around and pops the bubble and removes part of the sheep's wool

You could make a cyberpunk / futuristic city sheep get lost in. Also you could get hats from achievements, like finishing desert levels or space levels
Ok, so please tell me that the sheep can get stuck in the tornado spinning around. Second, in the snowball canon level, maybe it would be funny if instead of just being frozen as an ice cube the sheep became a snowman (or showsheep) therefore a physical obstacle that the other sheeps must avoid, like a pillar. Third, in honour to old games (and to add a cool challenge) maybe in the underwater level you could put some "air bubbles" that they have to pickup to breathe like Sonic levels (but less stressful lol). And finally, in the meteor level, i think would be wise to put a more "cartoon" shadow underneath the falling rock, just as an indicator in the position they are falling to. Tour Game is Very cool !!!! Add a power up like a magnet that attracts sheep instead of rejecting them !! Or a level where there are blue sheep who have to go in a blue pipe and reds in a red pipe !!
Your game looks really cute and entertaining! I have a few suggestions: 1) Maybe railway signals should turn red to indicate when a train is about to pass by 2) You could add some wind particles to indicate where exactly the turbines start to take effect on the sheep 3) I love the simplicity of the game, but I think it's worth it to experiment with levels a little bit more varied in layout. Maybe some fences or other obstacles could obligate you to turn right or left to make longer and more interesting levels
It would be nice to have a level Japanese themed. For example make the farm house look like a temple and have Sakura trees with leafs falling down with the wind and some small ponds the sheep can fall into. Something like a Japanese garden. There can also be a variant of this with instead of ponds and wind it could have stand still samurais that swings at the sheep when it gets close.
in the underwater levels I think it'd be funny if a whale or shark swooped up them up as an obstacle, or the progression from underwater to be a pinnochio scenario
You should have a beach level where you have to get the sheep across without them being washed away by the tides, crabs could also be walking back and forth. Love your channel and can't wait to see it grow❤
I like the look of the sand tornados in the dessert. It would look really cool if they varied in size as they traveled and sometimes picked up small rocks or disappeared for a few moments before coming back to add more challenge and a better look
Brainstormed some ideas for obstacles in a few of the new environments, obviously pick and choose what you think would be good or not: *Ice/Snow:* - An avalanche that temporarily blocks the path across a line before sinking back into the snow and going on a cooldown - while not too bad on its own could make for some cool combinations with other obstacles. - A pit of snow, tinted slightly darker than the rest to make it clearer for the player, that causes sheep to slowly sink while standing on top of it (kind of like powdered snow in Minecraft). - An icy wind that periodically rolls over the screen, causing sheep to hide in their wool to stay warm - blending in with the snowy environment in the process and making it harder for the player to see them. *Underwater:* - Dense kelp forests that slow and obscure sheep moving through it - could also be used to hide things such as the sharks you mentioned before they spring out. - Sea Mines that explode if a sheep collides with it too fast - could cause an AOE explosion that may take down other threats (such as other sea creatures) that allows players to sacrifice a sheep to make the level easier to clear for the remaining ones. - A siren that sits in a corner of the screen and sings a melody that makes the player's cursor slowly move towards it. *Moon:* - Lunar Rovers that patrol the environment, work similar to the cars and trains. Could also push and pull rocks around, reshaping the environment as the level progresses. - Astronauts that roam around until a sheep comes too close, upon which they chase the sheep, trying to catch it. - Rockets that periodically land in random places, can be seen approaching from a circular shadow where they will land that gets bigger as the rocket gets closer to landing. *Mars:* - Dust Storms, similar to the desert ones but that focus more on reducing visibility rather than moving the sheep. - Canyons or cracks in the floor that can't be walked across, hard to see during dust storms. - Space debris that has crashed onto the surface - different types of debris could have different uses from simple walls to open electrical cables that the sheep cant touch. *Space Station:* - Airlocks that open and close on a timer, the player loses sheep that are standing in the doorway when it closes - best paired with other obstacles. - Conveyor belts that move any sheep standing on them without needing player input. - Floor panels that fall off randomly, leaving empty space behind that can no longer be walked across. Regardless each environment works best when they all have their own main mechanic that all the other mechanics play off of, similar to the mario games, and like you've done with the desert zone and its wind. Love how the project is progressing so far ♥🐑
Add lasers in the space maps that appear on the screen without warning but have a constant timing. You could make them spin on a type of servo and let them get blocked by some type of obstruction to create safe zones. For example, There could be a level where there is a two sided laser spinning around a servo in the centre, the sheep spawn behind cover and the only way to get to the exit is by timing moving the sheep so they can leave cover get behind the next wall before the laser spins past them.
It could be cool to have a level where building or maintaining momentum/speed is needed. Like for example, an ice level with a ramp over a gap, or a "bull pen" type level where you have to get the sheep through an area as quick as possible before they are charged down. Basically some levels that focus on speed rather than precision or timing
Conveyor belts for obstacles, like in a factory or something. Or maybe cranes that scoop up the sheep. Or forklifts drive in random circles scooping sheep up.
I’ve been loving this series and think ur new level ideas r super cool! I think the wolves could have more natural, random movement before pouncing on the sheep instead of just going in circles
Ideas: The meteors on mars should have shadows so it does not feel unfair to be randomly hit. Have 3 sheep you can customise and then the game picks a random one so there is variety. Levels like the slippery path are more interesting because its not a rectangle you could create some variety with that. :)
for the forest levels you could add a bee hive where bees attack the sheep maybe stinging or eliminating them btw this game is incredible you and the over developers are really talented😄
Here's an idea: What if all the sheep did a little hop when you left click. Which could act as a last minute save, for example you see one of your sheep is about to be eaten by a wolf, so you click, and the sheep dodges the wolf. Or instead of a little hop, maybe they could get pushed away from the cursor. Just a little goofy idea, might not work out when testing, but still, I'm loving these devlogs!
In the windmill levels you should add a particle that shows the wind the windmill is blowing, just so people understand a bit better why their sheep is flying all across the map 😅
For some of the levels you could make it 1 sheep has to stand on a pressure plate to open a door then the rest of the sheeps can go through and step on another pressure plate that lets the last sheep through.
Great video! For the train levels (especially the one with 4 trains) it might be hard to time the trains if you don't know they are coming. I would add some train track lights that flash briefly before the train shows. You can see this done in the mobile game Crossy Road.
Great progress update! I think that adding a map style level selector (think any super mario game) which transitions to each of the different sections as you progress. Maybe you can move a sheep on the map and guide it to the level you want to play!
“So they look extra stylish as they get hit by a car” sounds so unhinged to me Also I have an idea, possibly to make it more challenging you could add puzzles, such as movable blocks that can activate buttons
That chicken coop on the side is making me wonder if a level where you had to herd both sheep and chickens could be interesting. The chickens could be more frantic or speedy or something to spice things up and add an extra challenge!
Great progress! I would suggest adding some animation to the wolfs, as they do look a bit static when moving (example 12:00). I think small jumping animation combined with a rotation that cycles from left to right to give it a bit more life. :)
Yeah haha, they haven't been animated or properly fleshed out at all, they where basically just cubes before the video, but I thought it made more sense to just throw on an old model in the meantime haha :) Should be animated by the next video!
Awesome video! The game is lookig super kool. Really like the idea of the game and it looks very nice. I find the sheep getting stuck to the tumbleweed hilarious. For the space environment you may have the sheep wearing some sort of a space suit and they are either hovering a bit or does this really long jumps that make them seem they are hovering for few seconds. Giving the illusion of low gravity. Looking forward to your next devlog. Keep it up! :)
I feel like you should have the train light things on the tracks act as an indicator for when trains are about to come by, just to make them more readable and as a quality of life addition.
here are some hat ideas: farmers hat, and maybe some wheat in the sheep’s mouth? flower crown then for fully completing a zone, like if you got all the sheep in all of the forest levels you’d get a special hat! so here are some concepts for each zone hat space: astronaut hat / alien ears / UFO hat desert: tumble wead hat / cactus hat forest: mushroom hat / mini sheep hat underwater: snorkel / sunglasses but on the sheeps head / coral hat snow: snowman hat / that santa hat in the customiser anddd i think thats all of them?
It would be cool to have a circus level where you have to direct the sheep into a canon so they can be shot into another zone before being directed to the barn. Maybe the canon rotates and you have to time the shot just right as well.
Also for a under water level you could have a trench that the sheep could fall into or a underwater volcano that pushes them up to the surface and you could make another biome that is like coastal or it could be part of the sea biome and a level for that could be coconuts that fall but if you don’t want an island you could make apples that fall in the forest instead. Anyways keep doing what you are doing man cause this is great🎉😃
i think on the space level with the meteors, there should be like a crashing animation when the meteor hits the ground and maybe a trail behind it. right now it looks kinda like the meteors are just phasing through the ground with no impact. loving the game so far tho!!

Hi, what a fantastic idea, and it was a lot of fun watching this video! My suggestions are: 1) Would be funny if the space sheep had some sort of Astronaut attire (with their chosen hats on top) 2) On the snow levels, you might include a few snowmobiles, instead of just the snowballs (for a little variance like the cars and trains) Looking forward to seeing more :)
I think it would be vary cool if there were spots in the desert and snowy level where there is spots for quick sand and I guesse quick snow. Also I love the game and keep up the great work!

So I don’t know whether this has been in the comments already but 7:57 (roughly) when you say about the new random model colour when the cars go across I noticed the cars seem to appear with 2 vehicles been the same colour. Would be nice to see it a bit more random. I have been playing the game for a little bit and enjoying it so far. Keep up the amazing work.
Yeah at the moment the cars only really have 4 colours (red, green, yellow and blue!) but I was thinking about setting it up using the barns tint shader so they could be any colour we want!

I have a fun idea! It looks like its possible to get outside the fence by hugging the edge and escaping across the train tracks. Image if there was a secret entrance behind the barn that gave you a cool cosmetic and a achievement (if you add those)
Could put a cattle stampede in the desert levels, or cowboy bandits that steel your sheep. Or cactus plants that sheep get stuck in. Or avoiding mine carts on tracks and dynomite.
I think the space levels ( moon specifically) would looks awesome if there was a dome. I saw the barn and was instantly reminded of the Futurama episode when they were on a farm on the moon.
maybe make the wolfs jump once in a while and make the rope move when they jump, maybe also make them bark or something when they jump, I think it could make the level llok way less static :)
they havent been animated or properly set up just yet but adding some cute little jumps is a really nice idea!! :) ill try and get something like that added :6
There should be a level editor and a sun biome where you have to avoid solar flairs and cand step on the sun for to long or the sheep will die so there is platform's to prevent death :)
