안녕하세요 선생님. Thank you for always sharing wonderful and helpful videos. I always watch them on my free time. I just have some questions, I hope you can help me. 1. Are my understanding on the particles and verb correct? The bread was eaten by me. / I am the one who ate the bread. = I ATE the bread. (emphasizing) -> 그 빵은 제가 먹었어요. It was eaten by me./ I am the one who ate it. = I ATE it. (emphasizing) -> 제가 먹었어요. I ate the bread (yesterday). (just giving general info) -> (어제) 저는 빵을 먹었어요. a. I am thinking that Subject Marker has also function of making the sentence in passive voice to emphasize who did the action. b. Is passive verb in Korean are used with object only? 여기에서 회사가 보여요. I can see the office from here./ The office is seen from here. (Are my translations correct?) If I just use Subject Marker with active verb will it sound like a passive voice in English or just emphasizing who did the action? 그 보고서는 제가 본 것입니다. The report was seen by me./ I am the one who saw the report. = I SAW the report. (emphasizing the doer) 저는 보고서를 봤어요. I saw the report. (general info) c. Is 오다 always use subject marker? 친구가 우리 집에 왔어요. 비가 와요. Are active verbs in movement always use subject marker? What other active verbs usually use subject marker? 2. Are my translations correct? She made me eat the bread. 언니는 저에에게 빵을 먹게 했습니다. She fed me the bread. 언니는 저에게 빵을 먹였습니다. Thank you 선생님 in advance for helping me understand more the Korean Language 😊

안녕하세요 ~ 😀 1. Are my understanding on the particles and verb correct? -> 그 빵은 제가 먹었어요. -> 제가 먹었어요. -> (어제) 저는 빵을 먹었어요. 👉 Yes, you are understanding correctly. But it's better to remember that 이/가 are used to emphasise who did the action. That's why 이/가 can not be omitted because 'who' is the main point of the sentence. Whereas, the main point of the sentence with 은/는 is the rest part of the sentence, not 'who'. That's why in 어제 저는 빵을 먹었어요, it still makes sentence without 저는. FYI, about 은는이가 : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-V_e-k4xhBiY.html b. Is passive verb in Korean are used with object only? 여기에서 회사가 보여요. I can see the office from here./ The office is seen from here. (Are my translations correct?) 👉In Korean, some action verbs change to passive form by adding certain letters, such as 보다-보이다, 먹다-먹이다. Of course not all the passive verbs work in the same way. Anyway, when we use passive verbs, 은는이가 are added to clarify who receive the action. 그 보고서는 제가 본 것입니다. 👉 It literally means 'the report is the one that I saw'. So it emphasise who saw the report. c. Is 오다 always use subject marker? 👉 If it's obvious, you don't need to mention them. 2. Are my translations correct? She made me eat the bread. 언니는 저에에게 빵을 먹게 했습니다. She fed me the bread. 언니는 저에게 빵을 먹였습니다. 👉 Yes, correct. 도움이 됐길 바래요. 😀
