New york slang changes constantly. "Deadass" is one that has been around for a long time and probably isn't going anywhere. My mother who's in her late 50s says deadass.

For Utah “sluff” would’ve been a good one to say. We say it as “I sluffed school today”, basically meaning skipped, and apparently it’s a very odd term to those outside of Utah.

Life long Alabamian and I never use “bless your heart” as a slight. It’s always heartfelt because someone is hurt, going through something or they’ve done something sweet or kind.

As someone who’s lived in New Mexico I can say confidently one of the most confusing slang/colloquialisms is calling every carbonate beverage “coke” because they’ll say “you wanna a coke” and hand you a Mountain Dew or other kind of soda

As someone who lives in Washington I can honestly say I have never heard someone say “HeLLa nAr NaR iN thE PoW pOW”

The Washington guy really did his state dirty. No one here says “that’s nar nar in the pow pow.” Like, WHAT IS THAT?!?!?

Authentic Oregon coast slang term “burn off”. So we’d say “oh the fog’ll burn off and then we’ll go outside n play” meaning that in the mornings when it’s chilly, there’s a thick layer of marine fog but then it will go away when the sun warms up. Some places in Oregon have a slight California valley girl twinge, other places slightly have a mid-west influence in a similar way that Washington does. My family in Washington definitely says “warsh” and we all grew up saying “pop” lol

Alaska has many... Cheechako (newcomer to the state), Going outside (leaving the state), Lower 48 (mainland US), Snowmachine (no one says snowmobile) Sourdough (someone that has been in AK for awhile)

I actually thought States like Hawaii, Louisiana, New Mexico, Maine, etc would've more slangs due to languages other than English also being spoken there natively. So some Creolised slangs could easily exist there.

In Arizona (mostly in Phoenix) we call the people who only visit the state during the winter “snow birds.” We get tons of birds that migrate here to avoid the snow, and people who do the exact same thing.

I don't know if any other state says this but in Maryland we say DMV which stands for D.C., Maryland, and Virgina and you usually will it the name pop up about 7 times a day on the car radio or news.

Las Vegas regular slang is similar to California slang since half of us were born or have lived there. Bounce, dip (leave or head out) Kicks (shoes) Fly (cool) Hella (very, really) Kickback (casual chill hangout/party) “I’m down to..” (Im up for..) Dope (really cool, nice)
