I love this series. It is so well done. It is billed as a Korean remake of 17 Again and because it’s a series it’s able to dive deeper into the relationships.
Its more of a remake than dub and the producers of this show are in collaboration with Disney. Its exactly why they are free to use many Disney and Marvel characters as props and cosplays. TBH this version is more interesting because it shows the wife's pov. She has her own struggles that are realistic to Korean society, like for example the double standards middle aged women face compared to middle aged men in her company.
The title is literally misleading. He did not returned to the past to take revenge to his bullies, but rather, to pursue his dream as a basketball player and escape his current miserable life
The only difference to the movie "17 again" is that the main character is 18 when he turns back, the characters names are different and that they are korean😊.Even the main characters son gets hit in the head with a basketball just like the movie 17 again.
A great series 💯 💯 An interesting face about this series is based on the American film "17 Again," starring Zac Efron. However, the Korean adaptation took a unique approach by changing the main character's age from 17 to 18.
He got to stay young? That is different. Most end with going back to their original age and making the best of their situation. I wouldn't go back to 17 - 22 maybe. A complete legal adult. Still young enough to take studies to better my life (Like learning to measure in centimeters instead of inches😁).
this drama series is basically a korean adaptaion of the movie '18 again' the whole series is 16 episodes long so here's a summary, so dae-young (da-young is a typo the character's name is actually dae-young) attends school and realises that what he thought his children were like were totally different from how they are irl because the twins were hiding stuff from him, so he makes it his mission to take care of si-a and help si-woo get into the basketball team. they meet a lot of bumps along the way like da-jung being criticised because she was considered too old to be an anchor and is a divorced parent, si-a getting stalked and harrassed by a creepy dude, a incompetent basketball coach who builds his basketball team through bribery etc. but dae-young was the one who helped and supported his family through all of it. there's also a bunch of love triangles such as si-a, ji-ho, gu-seong (the bully), wooyoung (who everyone thought liked si-a bc he cared so much about her when he was just being a thoughtful dad) and da-jung, dae-young and the baseball player. dae-young then slowly builds his relationship with his family by posing as woo-young. woo-young and si-woo manages to get into the school's basketball team. one day the school basketball team got into the national finals and that was when woo-young revealed to da-jung that he was actually dae-young. da-jung doesn't believe at first but then comes to realise woo-young's words and actions were exactly like dae-young but doesn't want to get together with him because he got a second chance at being a professional basketball player as he gave it up when da-jung became pregnant with the twins to be the breadwinner for the family. dae-young ofc doesn't accept it because all he wants is to be together with his ex-wife again and tells all his friends that woo-young will be leaving, which makes si-woo extremely sad as he was his best friend. during the day of the basketball finals, he tells his true feelings to da-jung and magically transforms back to dae-young. he then surprises si-woo by cheering him on at the finals game, to which they won. they then get married but still argue and fight over stuff but they have learnt to become honest with each other, hence becoming a happy family. si-a and si-woo never found out that woo-young was actually dae-young if you were wondering! the only people who found out were chu and ji-ho
This is a Korean derivative of a 2009 American film "17 Again". There's been a lot of these "rewind your life" movies since the '80s, inspired by the Boomer generation's wish to relive their youth. There's also a Japanese movie "ReLIFE" based on a manga (of course) which explores this topic; a 27-year-old man gets youthened temporarily, to address some unresolved issues. Pleasant fantasies. Who knows, though; maybe in 50 years we'll be able to actually do this. Yikes!
@@Corzalto elaborate even more than that make small investments in businesses that are popular and have great income now but were not doing so good or had just began when you were younger. If i got that chance to go back with my current knowledge of everything that happened in my life and around me on the news or major events, I would change somethings and since I was born on 2004 I would be about 5 when bitcoin was released for about $1 a coin and it blew up in 2015 it was 1 coin for about $350 a coin and it Jan. 2017 to about $1,000 per 1 coin and then blew up massively in Nov. to $8,000 a coin then 1 month later it was almost $20,000 a coin then dropped down to about $6k all through 2018 then in 2019 it stuck around $3k and it fluctuated around $3k-4k until about may it went up to around $8k-12k and in march of 2020 it dropped to $5k-6k and in October till the end of 2020 it shot up to $13k and in Nov. it shot up to $18k and just kept rising until about may 7th of 2021 it was at $58k and the next day it dropped and kept going down until Jul. 23rd 2021 it was at 34k it rose until 64k on Nov. 12th 2021 and just shot down and it stayed around $23k-29k until today but thats just one example (while I wouldn't be able to buy and trade coin's myself back then I could mine them on the PC I had, I just wouldn't be able to open a coin wallet under my name without a ID).
Lee Do-Hyun's top-notch acting skills made this remake of 17 Again a great difference. It is more meaningful, touching & fun-filled as compared to Zac Efron's original version.
