Hey Jay, I loved that you asked your mate if you could open his bonnet. Not many people show respect for other peoples cars anymore. I don’t even like when people lean on my work ute.
Oh yeah always respect others cars and always ask if I can film etc. Nathan is a fairly private person so felt fair lucky to be able to film his projects.
Jay ,just want you to know youve got the very best automotive channel on all of You Tube ,OUTSTANDING MATE,your friend drivin the 1200 coupe will tell hes grandkids about these adventures ,memories for life
I loved my 1974 RX4! It was a blast to drive through the Tennessee scenery. Wishing I still had it. I have a Gen 1 RX7 now, but would trade it in a second for a nice RX4.
I'm pretty sure that I used to own that coupe back in the early 90's racing around in the NSW Street Sedan Series. I have a mounted photo in my garage of me racing around Eastern Creek. Those we're the day's. No need to die wondering where it is now.
@@lowstandards5269 that is so thematic I reckon u should go all in and get a full 70’s outfit to wear when ya driving that dang dang around Adelaide 😂 Bell bottoms and a funky shirt n handlebar mo
Man I love that Kenmeri! You have all my dream cars, I had the GC galant coupe and Ive got the FC though 😁 Btw I had a friend who had a galant coupe with a v8 in it to, used to twist the chassis as they are pretty weak with the pillarless design apperently.
LOL!! I laughed so hard when you opened that hood on the Blue car!! Ha HA HA HA HAAA! Talk about over kill but you gotta LOVE IT! I think it should make it up the hill now!
Haha I loved this video.. It reminds me of some of the similar missions I've done with my mates to collect cars, great memories.. Makes me want to get on gummy and go buy a shitbox I don't need or have room for 🤣
Same man I use to do this shit 15 years ago so happy to still be able to do it these days with cars being so expensive and hard to find. Haha yeah do it:) you only live once.
This Datto driving across the country is awesome content and should have a million views! I suggest doing a re-edit of the two vids into one and naming it 'Will it run and drive 3000km home' and make the thumbnail the worst photo of it. Similar to Vice Grip Garage's channel.
I loved this video. I love my dattos and i have had my Datto 1200 ute for 23 years this year. She sleeps in the shed these days. Was that a Datsun 1000 ute on the hoist as the back end looked different but could of been just the angle of the camera. Great stuff guys.
Those 1200 motors are epic where I work had a C20 & I was racing a guy the van came to a halt when I checked…no oil walked to a gas station bought 2 quarts of oil put it in it started & I was gone again
looking forward to the next episode! epic adventure for cool cars. Might need to watch some Vice Grip Garage or Mortske Repair for 20yrs parked resurrections.. :) i resurrected a Rambler Rebel in Tassie for a mate to drive back to Melbourne. took the XF ute with EVERYTHING. missing fuel tank, brake booster/master, gear shifter jerry rigged from a kids scooter handle, bits of exhaust to cobble together, radiator alternator. heaps more to list. drove it from near Hobart to Melbourne after a couple of solid days working on it mostly on My own. thinking back on it, it was epic fun, but epic stress because the spirit of Tasmania was booked for the same day we left and it had been in bits for years.
I’ve never seen vice grip garage but will look it up. Oh nice and yeah at the time you think it’s stressful but when you look back it was the best time. I truely enjoyed this adventure.
@@lowstandards5269 (Long Videos, see how you go..) Check out the INDEPENDANCE CHEVELLE, ends up with a lot of videos of evolving repairs/mods. it's kind of like your RX3, looks rough but does a good skid. (title) ABANDONED Chevelle Will it Run After 30 Years and Drive 600 Miles? - Vice Grip Garage EP66
Holy shit, that turbo LS datto at the start 😳 would be better if it was rusty though 🤷🏻♂️lol. And you guys sure had ya work cut out for ya with that 1200 🤣
Cant wait to see what you end up doing to with the RX4... Was hoping you would give us a bit of a look at that Cosmo in the rack in your mates shed there.. Now that would be one project worth doing...
Sick video man, also love the collab with nathan... been following his instagram for a few years now too, keen to see what happens with the 2 new beasts
One thing I really hate is that most of those cars would be licensable in the US, but in Australia they're like "I'm sorry, but the thermostat housing isnt gold plated"
Awesome mate. All your videos are killer and enjoy watching them all. Pretty sure I'm local to you, was wondering if you only work on your cars or do you fix up/finish off other ppls cars? If so would love to get in touch and see if you would be interested in doing final touches ect on my mazda
@@lowstandards5269 that's all good mate. I love watching your channel anyway. I seen your mate Phillip in one of your videos. Went to high school with him. He absolutely shreds on the guitar hey. Anyway can wait to see what's coming for this year with you guys I imagine it will be awesome once again.
Seen the rx4 on Monday being towed south, where did the nsw number plate go its was VHM111 i was offered it a month ago, I had a 120y coupe on a tilt tray myself
The 63 Cedric he has is nice, but to big for me, the clean 200b wagon would have been nice but sold it to a mate down your way. Was just talking with him today as I picked up a 120y coupe for 350, she'll is dead but interior is good and motor looks clean, been sitting for 13 years tho, only got it for miscellaneous parts for my coupe.
Hey I love the old cars and trucks. Especially the ones not well known. I have a 1970 Toyota corona which is my project. But I have a great fondness for the Datsuns
I drove a 323 wagon from Auckland to Palmy.. wheel bearing was louder than the stereo. Really worrying as iv had one in which the wheel came off and wrote it off. Personally I'd drive to the other end of the earth for a anything RX.
Is the one in the background badged as a 240k or skyline, I had one badged as a 240k many yr ago and funny i was only talking to me son about that car today
@@lowstandards5269 i dont think you where broken down at that point. I seen you in the ute with the trailer and looking in the rear view. Then about 5 minutes down the road i seen the other car coming along. Must of just stopped for him to catch up
I was GIVEN one of those Datsun 1200s. It ran but smoked superbadly. As compensation, (?), I was allowed to keep the enormous Kenwood sound system in the car. Went ok, and much, (not all), of the smoke dissipated.
Far bro I remember being on a holiday in South Australia and seeing a 2 door galant in a drive way old guy said it hadn’t started it in over 7 years, after 6 hours of getting the thing to run I drove it back to Melbourne in 30* heat.. fun times couldn’t do that at my old age nowadays
