No, there are much quicker stock motor Golf R’s/S3’s. If you look into other tunes like EQT/Sneakytuned, they make more power and will do a custom tune for you and your turbo. You don’t have to spend a bunch of money building the motor, these motors make good power with simple supporting bolt ons to for a larger turbo
@@mcomarottis828 didnt leave off the line like a 500bhp golf at all. At stage 3 there still monsters up to 160mph. Shouldn’t have mattered too much here.
@@HandHaben thats a completely different story tho? if i crash a car at 60 im more likely to survive than on a bike ay and power to weight is different so its irrelevant
The results weren’t really a surprise. The golf would’ve been much closer, if not faster than the standard Huracan but not a tuned one. This Lambo won all the races but certainly lost the sensible challenge. The Golf is considerably cheaper (even tuned) more practical and if you balance cost v speed differential, the golf wins that too. Having said all that….. I wish I could afford the Huracan, cause I’d still buy a standard one over the Golf.
It would be nice to see an uninterrupted camera angle to show exactly how long the golf stays ahead… the golf driver does say at one point that it is 4th gear when the lambo comes past, to me that is impressive and speaks volumes about the tuning team.
Mate if it wasn't for the lambo's tune.. it would have gotten smoked! By a family economy car. Crazy. Tbf though the golfs an absolute weapon straight out of the box.
Good video BUT.. surely beating a Golf in a Lambo isn't really something to get that happy about? I wouldn't brag about beating my nan in a 50 meter sprint
Great video. Racingline quote 460-480bhp on their stage 3’s as they dont like to push them for warranty reasons. I have a stage 3 turbo technics mk7r running 526bhp and it looks so much quicker the golf in this video. Would be nice to see a stock lambo though! 🙌🏼
I have their kit running 458awhp.. so roughtly 525-550hp at the crank depending on how you calculate the drivetrain loss. They are pretty concervative on numbers I guess
That Golf R is fast. Plain fact of the matter, there is no replacement for displacement. You can spray, boost, even lighten up a car. But everyone knew the Huracan has the top end. The Roll race was interesting, if not closer than most would think it would be. I imagine the cost of the modified Golf R is more than half if not a third of the Huracan. I'd take the Golf R every day, any day for the practicality of it. What I would like to see is a 2022 Golf R modified proper to closer to the 600HP Huracan. I still think the Huracan has it, but I believe it would be much closer.
Hahahah it’s funny how a 4 cilinder golf can reasonably keep up with a Lamborghini 😂😂😂😂 the Lamborghini bloke was so cocky even tho he payed 380k to only beat the golf buy 2 car lengths 😂😂😂
This was a pretty cool match up. I knew out of the gate the Golf wouldn't take the Huracan however, it was pretty damn tight IMO. And given that the Golf is what, a 40K car with 15K in mods, you're talking 55K versus say 400K for the Lambo. I have a 2016, APR Stage 2 Golf R myself, a couple of Audis as well and I can tell you, my Golf is the most fun car I have ever owned, it's ridiculously practical and fun!
Yea I thought that too. The lambo is just much more aerodynamic. Not much you could do to counter that kinda design in a tuner car. More power and mods to put the power down is your only option.
@@rambow70 glad to hear that! Manual Transmission cars are a dying breed, especially with the coming of EV and self-driving cars. It’s perhaps a dying art that I’m very nostalgic of. I just love having total control of my car while I’m shifting gears. Don’t really care if newer Automatics are faster on the strip.
The Golf disappointed the whole Lamborghini community anyways... Imagine the price-range of the Golf being at least 1/5th of the Lambo, and still being that close. 0-100 Golf R beats the hack out of the Lambo as well, easily giving a huge gaperoni.
The Lambo would have a decent amount more torque too and probably a higher rev limit which means he can stretch the gears out longer and the torque curve is probably better, but as the other comments point out, you’d expect that out of a car that is well and truely more than twice the price
@@JUFFAIR101 The VW Golf GTI/R platform uses a small engine and a turbocharger instead of a naturally aspirated larger engine, to achieve similar power levels with less weight and better fuel economy. What is your point?
That dude in the Lamborghini appears short for his driving position. His arms look to extended to switch gears. I could be wrong I'm not Michael Schumacher.
I feel like it’s a bit embarrassing to spend all that money on a supercar like a huracan these days with how fast hot hatches are. All that money and someone with a car you could do the school run in has similar or better performance
Until it's time to go on a race track. How's that built Golf R handle on a real circuit? The Huracan has a proven track record no pun intended LOL. That's where the supecar money comes into play here. Everyone so concerned with straight line performance, 0-60, 1/4 mile and half mile exhibition and any jack off can buy a shit box slap a turbo on it get 500-600whp out of it and run 10's these days. Whoop de doo da! When you get that backyard project on a track or in the canyons with a real car you'll see why a supercar with all the engineering behind it wins on all levels.
@@IKenexPSN not to insult or start a keyboard war of course ! ...i think your confused with HP VS BHP VS WHP ...Racingline kit is 490WHP take the 12% drivetrain loss off its 520-530BHP so identical or more than to your SA kits .. all the stage 3 kits on these EA888 engines are very similar. Because anything over 550BHP on a stock block is playing Russian roulette. on those figures its not a case of if the bottom end is going to blow up-its when. granted this video is poor all round, editing, the cast, the vehicles used etc, but i think your trying to slam something that in reality is very similar to what your used to.
@@motographics from what ive been told from an actual customer its 480BHP. No at the Wheels. Theres a video of Racingline’s demo car somewhere on youtube and that is also 480Bhp. And just a touch over 400WHP. The drive train loss with 4Motion is also predicted 16-18%. Sometimes even 20 depending. Anything over 520bhp is Russian roulette with these cars. And thats from douge at MRC who’s a god with them. Plenty of these blow up at stage 2. Some are invincible. Very odd as there seems to be no consistency with the 2.0TSI’s.
This guys goin on like more cylinders is the be and end all lol. I’ve embarrassed v8’s in my 4 banger s3 with bolt ons and tune. Humbly one guy told me after “that thing is fast”. Won’t ever sound as good as a v8 or 10 but still.
As a golf owner I'd rather our cars to a lambo any day ecen if I could afford a lambo I'd just do an rs3 swap which is literally half the hurricane engine and would blow it off the road.
