Just a small tip... We can't hear you speak when you turn away from the camera. Maybe a wireless microphone would be a good idea

+Jessica Kobeissi you can get them really really cheap. the neewer lav mics are like $2 each. or get a Chinese condenser mic for like $20

I absolutely love how you show a SOOC and a Final Edit. It really shows how much control you have over raw images without having to go into photoshop and show the process.

AndreCorner Actually I would like to argue Michigan has very boring scenery...nothing special at all. I would much prefer shooting in California or even New Zealand at a nice lake/mountain :'( I think it's just how you transform something ordinary that counts. That's the challenge!

Jessica Kobeissi true that, in fact the stairs here and such are not super special tbh but that's something you can't find here at all, the scenery is kinda bad. I live near Verona which is a typical italian city so really nice to shoot in but it doesn't have these clean views...but that's the price to pay for living in a country full of history and historic evidences

hey jessica, firstly love your videos you have helped me a lot with all of your tips! hope you can respond to this question. I can buy either the 5d mark iii or the 6D. the thing is that the 6d is half the price and my budget is quite tight. so i could buy the 5d and like rent some lenses or buy the 6D with a kit lens. what would you do? thanks a lot!!

I feel like you shoot amazing raw photos that only require very light editing and some noise to give it that nice film cinema vibe, you're over saturating and bringing out the highlights too much. You've got natural talent and the digital tools you're using is only making you look like everyone else while you're natural raw photo shots are beautiful and holds a trademark look.

Listening to your verbiage when directing the model was super helpful. I find myself sometimes not articulating properly what I want the model to be doing. I would love to maybe see a video based on giving model direction.

pick some of the 15€-roundish (dont know how much it costs in the us) reflector from amazon. they all are the same, doesnt matter which brand u buy. Silver reflectorsite = harder and colder light; white site = softer and a little less light than silver; gold = warm; black = to block sun / light and the most important thing: Try not to reflect light from the bottom. Think of the direction of your reflected light. If u light the model up from the bottom it casts ugly shadows and light into her face, just like the "halloween-Flashlight-Light".

some of the photos I think I preferred the unedited versions but that mostly comes down to personal preference and style. They still come out beautiful though

TheLawind The 50mm L is notorious for it. It's a pretty old lens by current standards so it lacks a lot of the coatings and improvements to optics we've seen in the last decade or so. It's amazing how things have improved in the last 3-4 years in terms of making lenses. I just hope the next one blows us all away because they're competing (and losing IMO, unless you NEED 1.2) against the new Sigma 50mm Art series for half the price.
