If only the line from Ruabon to Barmouth was still there. At a time when the journey was a part of the holiday adventure we used to look forward to it as much as the holiday. Of course it was steam powered way back then. Thank you again Vic for reviving a lot of happy memories.
I may be wrong but when I started driving regularly in 1969 from Nottingham to Porthmadog there was still quite a lot of railway to see at Trevor if I remember correctly.

Thank you so much for this. I am a massive fan of the Ruabon-Barmouth line and I am so gutted that it was closed. Do you think if it were open today it would be profitable/well used and liked?
