What are 5 challenges of full time caravanning in the UK? Winter caravanning is completely different to caravanning in the summer! In this video I share some caravanning tips, on how to survive winter in a caravan in the UK. I think there are 5 main challenges and I will give you caravan tips, for those of you who want to try either caravanning or living in a caravan in winter or maybe those who are new to caravanning, and they are not sure if they want to use their vans in winter. The main challenges are: dealing with cold, reducing damp, keeping the caravan mud free, managing your mood and wellbeing, coping with not having a company on site. We absolutely love camping and caravanning and we learnt how to manage all these challenges. It is all ok when you are off and you can really take care of yourself for example by cooking and eating properly and doing exercise, but it would be a real struggle if on top of managing day to day life in a caravan in winter we had to work. Luckily we don't work in winter! Join me in this video to have a feel of our winter camping and winter caravanning in our camping trailer Fend 700. What a brilliant caravan for living in it in winter it is!

Good morning apartment in the caravan in winter has its pros and cons, It's good that you have this awning you can leave these wet things in the vestibule do not bring mud to the trailer. cooking outside is also a good idea because there is more fresh air in the vestibule and this couple does not enter the caravan, In the caravan it would be worse to cook because there are no vents such as fans just had to open the windows and then it would get cold in the caravan Have a nice week Greetings

Thank you for your comment! You are right, living in a caravan during winter can have its pros and cons, and we have found the awning to be very useful in keeping the inside of the caravan dry and clean. Cooking outside is also a great idea to keep the inside of the caravan well-ventilated and free of cooking smells. It can get quite chilly inside the caravan, so we appreciate your suggestion to keep the windows open for ventilation, but we also have a heating system in place to keep us warm. Thank you for your thoughtful comment and have a great week!

Just to say Hi, almost out of winter... hope you both are doing well, thank you for the content. Living in a house alone I bet I get more lonely than most, it's nice to see you living how I'd like to live

Hi Tony, we are good! Over the last few days most of trees turned green and everything is buzzing with life ;-) The campsite and the area are really beautiful. I always have mixed feelings when people praise us for living the lifestyle we love... on the one hand it is lovely to get such positive responses, on the other, it makes me wonder why it is such a special thing for many... I mean we meet people who think we are either crazy or super brave or even exceptional. Well, it doesn't really take much to live this lifestyle, it is all quite simple really, BUT you need to be brave and do not worry what other people think of your decisions. These two are probably the biggest obstacles. Life is so short and you only get one take. We will be doing a Live Stream today, like every Sunday 7pm UK time, how you can join us for a chat? K

Red Bush tea bags from lidl, naturally caffeine free and low in tannin, can make like regular tea with a drop of milk. Do you have a heated blanket, they dint use much electric as only about 50 watts, keeps us warm of a night at a lower cost. Also if your fridge is getting to cold you are supposed to slightly block of the exterior fridge vents to reduce the airflow, you can buy thetford fridge vent covers but I just made my own, you don't completely block the fridge vents but cover about 3/4 of both vents to reduce cold airflow at back of Fridge, recommended when temp drops below 8 Celsius....

Caravans stay lovely and toasty in winter... Better than heating on in a house

What about using a good dehumidifier?
@FreedomSeekers-FS

Dehumidifiers can be useful, but they do have some drawbacks. They tend to use a lot of electricity, can be quite noisy, and the more effective ones take up a lot of space. Thanks for your suggestion!
