It's one of my dreams to own a Theater of Magic pinball machine. I remember playing it at a waterpark's arcade during a church retreat. Memories. But real life money comes first....:P
Beautiful, beautiful job! I LOVE the upgraded color display and lights.. Back in the twilight years of the arcades, this was my all time favorite pinball machine! As you pointed out, it is a beautiful machine and so many cool things happen. If my wife ever lets me own one, this would be the one I'd want! :)
This is one of my top favorite pinball machines from my childhood and I would love to have it. Trouble is, it's one of the more expensive games and I don't have $6,000 just laying around.
One of the best pinballs ever!!! Midevil Madness is also badass. One day i will have both of them, Wizard of Wor on arcade and a couple of more games. Probably next year:).
TNT Amusements Inc So how much do u usualy sell Theater of Magic for? I see you have one from your private collection that you sell but that one is way too expensive for me.
Would love to see you guys do before and after shots on all the games you do, as it would allow all of the hard work you guys do really shine and be fully appreciated!
It's not always practical...the videos are actually made for the new owner before we deliver it...we try to do different things with the videos whenever possible...but it is always a madhouse, and we are constantly running from one game to the next.
HI Ted. I'll need some advice from you for my theatre of magic. What leds should I use? Can I use non-ghosting leds? Or just regular leds.? Thank you. Dominik
I heard you state on another video that solder joints go cold, so you "reheat" them. What do you mean by that? The only thing that should cause deterioration of a solder joint is vibration/mechanical stress; that doesn't make them "go cold," but it does lead toward fatigue failures. As for the capacitors, I completely support your decision to replace 20-year old dielectric. ;o)
You have to reflow new solder on the header pins and anything that could develop a crack. They determined that an indicator bulb in the dashboard of a commercial jet that cashed had a cold solder connection on the base of the socket so the light was off...(it would apparently go on and off because of the crack) and it led to a chain of events that killed everyone on board---a single cold solder connection!
The intro was so bad it was good. Like so bad. But was so good. Lol. Great vids tho i enjoy everything you guys do. I wish i lived in the same city. You wouldnt be able to kick me out at close.
Just says on the bowling alley dot matrix are not cheap and gets a color one :) $160 for bowling vs whats the color? I am surprised that dot matrix panels are expensive. I do like to repair computers and right now it's laptops. 1. replacing the screens are complicated have to find exactly what one you have and 2. they are usually under $100 not always again depends on what one you have. The old school ones that I loved that weren't shiny that I don't see myself mucking around to something. Those were nice but all the new ones all shiny crap. :( Played one Pinball 2000 years ago hated it. no don't like those screens !! Love this game as an app that and Cactus Canyon. Besides the classics.
