A landmark pinball machine, as this game re-invigorated the fun of pinball into brand new players, as it had so much going on! It was also very easy to get Multiball, so even a novice player would get alot of bang for their quarter!
I remember back in the day when my local arcade (which rarely had pinball machines) set this machine up. I also remember after playing this machine thinking that pinball was finally making a mainstream comeback! Lots of good memories on this one!
Very good looking machine. Doesn't look like you had to do any touch up work. Your folks did a good job on this one. This is definitely a collectors machine.
wow. the sounds on this game are really incredible. i bet people were plunking quarters in this thing left and right back in the day. this must have blown people's hair back! really sweet job TNT crew! man you guys do awesome work.
Me too man!! Always his house for the Super Bowl. We always smelled like chlorine playing because we would go swimming and then run to the pinball machine when it got dark!
This pinball game I played a lot since it was in a lot of locations back in the mid to late 1980s such as arcades, bowing centers and taverns. I also loved the random scores/rewards when you spelled "Shuttle" Last time I played this game was back in 1991.
I would have loved to fix pinball and arcade games for a living. I guess I can flush another dream down the commode. Thanks for posting these videos. Very cool.
Beautiful Space Shuttle. I spent the whole video waiting to see Super Pac-Man. By far the best Pac-Man machine ever made. Super Pac-Man is to the Pac-Man franchise what Jack*Bot is to the Pin*Bot franchise.
id love to see a machine built for the same reasons ,,, a game that is what a non player thinks pinball is ,,, space shuttle 2017 sequel sounds even better :D
Todd, you mentioned and showed us how the Gi functions but I wanted to ask, what makes the bulbs for the thrusters function? That area of my machine never lights, nor do my 1000, 2000 ,and 4000 plus arrows
The factory setting is 3 shakes for a tilt...but this is actually changeable in the menu of regular pinball machines from NO tilt if shaken to up to 50 shakes before it tilts! SO maybe there is a similar menu in the computer game?
Sound was really bad in those games back then in 1984... I never understood why it was that bad, because for example the home computer Commodore 64 from 1982 already was using a great synth chip with three very customizable voices... They were behind back in the days here.
Hi Todd, if you ship the F14 to Florida, the person that bought it won't be happy :) but I will. The games going to Florida are whodunit, SS, Atlantis, and LAH.
tried it again after watching this video. thinking the app is not great at aiming :P although how often that popup is on the main ramp , it's always up. I'll have to compare the two
Hi Lee, I've played the app on the IPad and it aims and plays great. It also plays very well on the PC. However, from the same company, is also the apps on PS3/4 and Xbox and they play horribly bad. There is a significant delay in the flippers but the IPad(tablet version) and PC are done very, very well. I have Class of 1812 and it plays the same if not identical on my IPad. It's awesome to be able to play my game on the road. I also have a Space Shuttle ( or rather will, this one in the vid) and can't wait to try it out.
it's addictive not saying it's bad. think the latest is Junkyard. never heard of it. But the music behind Space Shuttle always has me coming back anyway. whether my aim is bad on the app or not ;)
right on. Unfortunately, I like the game so much, they are getting all my money. Junkyard was a game that I didn't really know about either but seems to be fun and have been playing a lot. These types of machines were such that they were trying to compete with the arcade games at the time. So junkyard has a couple of DMD games built in. I don't thing any video game pinball is as good as the real thing but Farsight seems to have done a very good job.
