@@TommyApel uhm...this cost exactly as much as a GTI back then, and actually the engine in this is from the Golf R, just artificially detuned by software.
I had the opportunity to drive the first new design Leon shortly after it came out. It felt pretty unstable, even at a speed of 140 kmh. But this one here seems to have an amazing stability.
@@romb1818 never said anything about it not being impressive, that is your misunderstood conclusion of my comment, here is exactly what i meant, it is impressive, and very much so indeed but the videotitle is misleading when the car never reaches 300kmt. Im quite funny yes, thanks for noticing. Have a nice one🤙🏽 Yours sencerely - Mr funny Guy
@@broccoli_jaeger the average delay for a car to satellite will be 120ms, doubled for return trip - thats 1 quarter of a second. I would not define that as a huge delay. Edit: typos / errors.
@@JP_RS6 that's probably what they are aiming for. But at such a great distance data packages get lost many times and have to be sent again. Weather conditions also matter
Yeah my stage 1 Cupra has bo problem putting down power at 60+ either. Its below this speed where my issues are. Ive got to forget about beating cars with similar power at the lights or off the line, But on a decent roll I'm good. Also agree with the above comment bigger turbo beeded for this power is going to have bigger lag and result in smoother transition. But this is also why most get a hybrid turbo so they can have their cake and eat it and just put up with the traction issues lol.
@@pokest225 power is a product of torque and rpm. If you do maybe 500Nm of torque at 2 Bars of pressure, it doesn’t matter how big or small a turbo is. Small turbos just couldn’t deliver enough air to hold the pressure in higher rpm. If he gets power better down, he got less maximum torque or just really good tires.
@@DizzlerDazzler with small turbos, you get full torque too soon, and at lower rpm. Hence bad traction. Big bigger turbo, you have more lag, need less peak boost to make decent power, and the powerband can be better.
You have to be joking right? It sounds the same as every petrol 2.0 4 cyl car nothing fancy, even my car sounds better. Probably this sound flies from the speakers, as mower manufacturers are now in the habit of doing.
@@Arthurroo00 Well old cars sound much better. I agree. It's just my way of coping with the fact that they don't build cars like they used to, I guess.
@@Arthurroo00 whilst I like the sound of my cupras 4 banger, i think it sounds better than other 4 bangers imo snd thats from thr outside, but i am biased and have to admit i heard a lancer sound almost the same but louder. I never have the speaker sound on (only comes on in cupra mode and its getting mapped out). But nothing beats the sound of a V8 for me, 5 Cyl is a close 2nd.
@@swansmeister My M340i sounded like a vacuum cleaner too. My Cupra ST 300 with an 3" Exhaust sounds dimensions better, your point? 2l 3l 4l, all sound garbage and dull. Once a GOOD aftermarket exhaust is on, that thing sounds like heaven. Since I didn't own the M340i, I wasn't allowed to put an aftermarket exhaust. I got one friend though with one and that thing rips through ears, was illegal though. EVERY car, heck even 1.6l can sound impressive af and can even outsound some V8 or V6, since they are unsymmetrical. Don't judge by size, just shows how unprofessional you are.
You should do it if you can. Great cars even at stock HP, Cheap to run/insure and maintain compared to other hot hatches and cheap to upgrade for more power. Being FWD they are poor performers off the line but good throttle management will make it better and they have great character driving around country roads and on track, not as exciting as RWD cars but more forgiving when you make a mistake and not as boring as AWD cars. If you want a car to make you traffic light champion however you want an AWD car, so S3/RS3/Golf R/A35/A45 etc....
@@JP_RS6 I got MY19 Seat Leon ST Cupra 4Drive and it goes so well being stock, and now when its winter is a lot fun to do some drifting with traction control on sport mode or off
@@mmicciss I almost got the ST, i kinda still wish I had as well... lol but I just dont like the profile of the car vs the hatchback, so I went for that, I got a 69 plate 290. Hindsight being 20/20 I probably should of got the ST. Still time to swap for me in 2023 might look for Cupra R ST with ABT pack. Or just go nuts and get an RS4 lol.
A year later I can only talk well about the car, got myself the 5F as an ST 300. That car rips and is not much slower than my shortly driven M340i, around 1 second 100-200. I would still take the M340i over the Cupra, but with an Stage 1 the Cupra is a weapon to reckoned with, insane power delivery. The Fuel consumption is worse than on the BMW though, which is dumb, since BMW has 6Cyl and a litre bigger engine, BMW does magic I guess.
@efveedeebee That Version in the Video yes, the Engine is 100% Forged. The EA888 is the 1.9 TDI of TFSI Engines, the 3rd Gen is almost undestructable and does 300k KM at ease, problem is, the Piston Rings tend to explode at 550 NM I think and the Clutch needs to be adapted, since it starts slippin'. Overall one of the most impressive engines on the Market potential whise, especially since it's only a little 2 litre engine :)
Engine is rebuild, so it should do it effortless. Those 500+ horses aren't normal horses, the Pistons are Forged and insanely thick, probably, so power delivery is crazy
Basically, there is no slow lane on the German Autobahn, only driving on the right applies, if the right lane is free you can drive as fast as you want in the right lane as long as there is no speed limit and no truck is blocking the lane🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@klausbaumann4390and thats not true, on 3 or 4 lane highways the most right or the 2 most right lanes are infact for slow cars because you are NOT allowed to overtake on the right side, meaning it will automaticly sort itself out to be that way, furthermore cops will stop you if you drive 250 on the most right lane and question you if you are actually insane, because you make it impossible for ppl that drive on the autobahn to react to you when they enter with 120kmh or less, which is perfectly fine, under 100 they arent that smart to drive in.
Why is the digital speedo 20kph out over the dials? It never reached more than 286 according to the digital while giving a 300 kph dial speed. Also why does it get negative bhp on throttle lift off? Negative psi in vacuum in the turbo reading I get but negative bhp??
580hp out a 2.0 gawd damn! It seems so effortless with so little fanfare. My daily is just under 350hp 2.0 WRX and it's plenty for street driving. My only reservation is just how long will the VW 2.0 last being that strung out.
Imo, the speedo meter needle show uncorrected speed and I think the cause is using a different size wheels or a higher number gear ratio and that it has to be retuned to match with the speedo meter on the screen.. Anyway, nice run and good sound.
Propably a parallax error. The direction of view of the camera is far from parallel to the speedometer, but rather from left to right, hence you seeing it differently in the camera video than it actually is.
@@Buck3366 Okay I agree, let's do a compromise and we meet somewhere in between. The parallax error changes it and on top the analog speedometer is also exaggerating.
