Tommy you have excellent taste in music young man, not often you find someone as young as you are that appreciates blues, especially the old blues. You're editing skills are top notch as well, between all those positives, you can go far if you maintain your focus on staying motivated, and never accepting that something is impossible. Because nothing is if you keep pushing to achieve your goals.

For what it's worth Billy, less timing = hotter EGT's, more timing= cooler EGT's. Throwing more fuel at a cylinder with less timing = more fire in the header tube...hotter EGT's. MORE timing burns the fuel in the chamber where you need the heat, and less in the header so it sees less heat, ie: cooler EGT's. More fuel cools the intake valve more, but is all still burning in the header. The siamesed exhaust in the center cylinders doesn't create hotter EGT numbers. Those probes just measure a few inches after the valve for that cylinder. Exhaust Gas Temperature. Not chamber temperature. Siamesed exhaust valves fired almost consecutively creates heat in the chamber and valve, yes, which is more detrimental to head gaskets, valves, seats, the chamber, etc..., not EGT probes. They just measure what comes out. Needing more timing in certain cylinders is not unheard of, especially when running a cast single four manifold with different length runners. Which runners usually need help in the tune? The 4 inside runners. They fire consecutively in the firing order, and those runner lengths are different from the outside runners. Runner dividers in the plenum also affect it. Fords are notorious for these issues with single cast intakes, regardless of power adder or not. An I.R manifold has a big open plenum, with equal length runners, and no dividers. They are much less timing and tune sensitive per cylinder. Lastly, just wanted you to understand, "safe" is not always safe lol. Too safe can hurt parts just as easy and quickly as being on the edge, as does too much or too little timing. Making a long distance pull in high gear on the street and just getting numbers isn't really telling the story. Not the same kind of load the engine sees during a pass and accelerating through gears. I've mentioned it to you in the past, that AFR will lie to you. The plug knows everything going on in that chamber first hand, you just have to cut it open to get the answers, which I would only do at a track. In short bursts. Pulling 1 plug with drive time, shortburst, and more drive time, will not tell you anything, and the worst thing you can do is rely on the computer to do it. All that information in the laptop is just reference points, it still needs to be physically monitored and checked. Without that, what good is a reference point with nothing to refer it back to? They just become generalized numbers everyone uses. Except every engine is different. Hope this helps.. Best wishes.

SRC FTW! I know high boost 2jz guys would vent the crank case too and obviously the valve cover. Can only help. Drain backs are great, 3/8” would let flow nice without sticking on its way down. Front drains are worth doing too. Hard stops with chutes are just as crazy as a 1.0 60’ Religiously, extra qt of oil above full line at the track.

Just a heads up, lower timing will actually give you higher EGTs. The reason for it is you are starting the combustion event later which means it is closer to when the exhaust valve opens, so it will be hotter. Still on the right track using the plugs though. That's what I prefer to use to get timing and AFR right. I rely more on the EGTs for diagnostics. For example if we lose a cylinder I can see which one it is.

We run the funny car at 950-1,000 degrees or so and I run the turbo 10.5 car at about 1,050 and it has a cooling system. To me, 1,400 is way too lean on Methanol. Who knew Tommy was a ball player??! Lookin good sir!
