Did you end up getting the win? I saw yours after I picked the el-camino and had Holley change it. Later when they released the winners, it was still the El-camino.
@@DEBOSSGARAGE Someone from the staff stopped me on the way out Sunday, they told me we won an award but the guys at the Holley Booth couldn't if it was true or where to pick it up
@@DEBOSSGARAGE after watching this video Cain is Super Motivated to work on the truck, rebuild the engine, finish the turbo, get a/c ,complete the ramp etc... Thanks again guys !!
Do a hot rod build collaboration with at least 10 YT builders, each person does a particular job on their own channel and sends it on to the next.. Get as many heavy hitter sponsors as you can get At the end of the year auction it off and give the proceeds to a worthwhile charity
I know Cain is gone get some help from someone out there! Great of you to show that interview with them and get them some time on camera! Big props to you Rich!
Please do more content with Cain and his dad. Maybe take a trip to visit them or bring them up to the shop for a visit or something. Would be great to see.
You, Derek and Al n Woody in colab would be an amazing build!! And the 3 of you build something against bad obsession.. no doubt impossible but I reckon would be the biggest vid series on YT ever! 🎉 (Imagine the brackets!! 😅)
Fernando is one cool dad for keeping his son Cain involved with that truck! How about Rich, Flying Sparks and some other bigger RU-vidrs work with them to finish that build (if he would accept the help)?
Honestly, with the Chevy starters, I think everyone should use a fender mounted solenoid. Move the main wiring to the fender, use a short pigtail from the main terminal to the activation terminal on the starter. It’s what I did with my square body, and power only goes down near the block and exhaust while the fender solenoid is engaged.
There are quite a few planes using not only LS but other automotive engines. My favorite that I’ve seen was a Van’s RV6 painted like a P51 with an LS1 from a corvette, complete with the corvette beauty covers on the top…trippy to see a big CORVETTE under the cowling!
Rich love the content....always excited when a DebossGarage vid comes in! Did you say boats? I'd love to see a restoration of an old 70's/80's performance boat (deep V, tunnel or STV) with a nice big 2 stroke engine on it! They're a lot of fun and with a 2 stroke set up (instead of a stern drive V8), not as much to go wrong 😁
Luv'd this build. Watched the vids with my 85yo parents...my mom had a '55 second series when i was a kid. She remembered it very fondly over these episodes. 👍👍
If you've never done a CONCOURS restoration, you would be surprised at the learning curve required. I just finished my 67 GTA Mustang last year. Owned it as my first car since 1978
Im sure it would be a logistics nightmare but more of this type of series visiting other RU-vid channels to do work on the ride you are in or even just going roadtripping to help them with stuff they are working on. I have found several other channels I like from this one and that shop banter friendship is fun. Not that I want to see you struggle but it is inspiring to see quality workmanship from a floor jack under a pop-up tent with basic tools once in awhile. Keep up the great work.
Thank you for sharing this build process with us. I started following along from the first video at StanceWorks. Truly inspiring to this project come together.
Seems to me that those Holley electronics are a real pain in the butt. Dan at DD's speed shop finally took all the Holley Sniper stuff off of his '55 Nomad and put a pair of quadrajets on it. No more problems (or at least fewer ones). He couldn't get his car to learn or idle either.
One vacuum leak will do that. It usually is something mechanical stopping the electronics. Once I hooked up the catch can to the intake, it ran better. Even did autocross with it. The blue cap on the intake wasn't sealing 100%
My favorite part of this channel is the more heavy duty and ridiculous stuff, like the F350. A bota like you menioned could be cool, but anything with some ridiculous swap that shouldn't fit will be fun
I loved the Audi build, all the creative problem solving and fabrication. I’d love to see you build your version of a “locost” 7, probably needs a diesel or some other wild engine. Definitely does NOT need to be fast. the standard style chassis will need some mods to fit you but it’d be a fun long term project.
when i was 18 (50 years ago) i couldn't understand why everyone didn't run home on friday after work to change cams and run back to town to cruise and drag race on the local straight away, now i get it.
I have enjoyed this build very much. You have had a lot of problems but ultimately you worked them out. I just have one thing you need to change and that is those pair of shorts you had on. If you need to wear shorts try cut off jeans. Those suckers came from the 60's I know I had a pair. Love the programming. Keep it up.
You most certainly can put an LS in a plane that flies! There are lots and lots of experimental planes with LS engines, small block Chevy's, mine has a Ford V6 automotive engine in it! I'm not sure if there are more or less rules about doing that in Canada or not.
Nice work everyone, good collaboration build. I’d love to see more stuff like this, you could go help some of these guys with their builds. And do some events, use the stuff you built. And maybe some charity work for kids
Hey Rich go on do it build a Kit Car . There are many many kit car companies around . No idea how many there are here in the uk let alone in the USA / Canada. Love the look and the Stance of the 55 Apache . I for one would love to own something like that 100% . Regards Martin from the uk
Would love to see someone build up one of the old 2.2 turbo Chrysler platforms. See what can be done by chucking all the 80’s electronics and run it with modern ecu and efi.
And heat / sound insulation panels and then carpet and put the rubber mat over the carpet that way when you have a date pull the rubber mat and you have clean carpet 😊
Rich, any project YOU decide (as long as its cool) would be alright with me. It's the process that keeps me coming back every video. Any car from the 1900s to 1999 would be an good choice.
42:51 "boats" yeah you should do a charger next lol i think something to challenge stefans srt4 midget would be cool (k20 tr6??) would love to see him again, and you two to have a build off
There are several aircraft running LS powerplants. It is common in the Titan P51 experimental aircraft. Homebuilt 1/2 scale P51. And others use the LS platform in thier planes. Im an aircraft mechanic and have seen a few
How about build a Dirt Modified Racer to run at Merritville? or a Cummins based Tractor Pull race rig? Or turn one of your trucks into a ultimate overland bug out camper?
Rich love the finished truck ,we used to do a cheap guard flair in my teens 50years ago😢 put a block of wood on the tyre side wall and get a mate to slowly drive forward and as the wood block forces between the tyre and guard it flairs the guard out ,not pretty but as a teen on apprentice wages and wanting to put wide tyres on my old ford who could afford a panel shop flair job ,Love your channel How about building a myer manx beach buggy in Canada and drive it to California 😮😮 Cheers Kym Adelaide
I’d like you to step outside your comfort zone a little and take on an Ultima or GT40 Rep. All the V8 goodness with some proper speed but, you’ll have to think about corners too! Love this Apache build though!
Hi Rich, I Think it Would be nice that you completely pimped and boost up a tractor. With an engine from an old tank or something, at leest a thick diesel with many turbos... Greetings From Drenthe the Netherlands
You can totally do that with an airplane that is licensed experimental, which that one is. There are quite a few homebuilts out there that have automotive engines.
You should build an Lotus 7 replica with a Hayabusa engine with a rotrex supercharger. I believe they have kits for slightly bigger/taller people. Or just something lightweight with a bike engine...
I want to see you do a dump truck drag pull my brother is handicapped but he loves rack pulls and he's always wanted to see a drag pole with a dump truck
As for the plane. It says experimental right on the side, totally a flyer. They are restricted in horsepower so only about twice the power of a stock 172. But, they get about 4 times the ground coverage per gallon.
I'd be interested in seeing some bike stuff from you guys. I know you started that café racer project and it would be cool to see more stuff along those lines.
Next project- stop at the Welkers and thrash on one of the old tractors they have sitting in the back row. Probably be better suited for the other channel though.
Those trucks have the WORST door latches known to man. When I was 5 or 6, the door on my dad's 56 came open and as I fell out my mom grabbed me by the shirt and pulled me back in the truck. I almost died.... Put the bear jaw style upgrade in the doors.
