What shocks me the most is she's able to give birth at the age of 55 which is like the age of Menopause for women.

@@itsjustsam127 I have to say I was outstanding in the lore of my ob-gyn office. I think the most common reference was "oh my God that poor woman" 😂! You're right though....it's not that common. I had to keep reminding the young women in the office my mom was the same way, and most likely they'd be done much earlier.

Oh yeah, I married a man 18 years older then me, (met him when I was 22 been together for 17 years.) I have nieces and nephews my age and older. It's a bit weird.

I went to high school with a guy whose uncle was the same age as him.

My ex brother-in-law shared a locker with his aunt in junior high. They were in the same grade.

Lol! My great-grandmother had her last baby at 49. I had my twins at 44 (my oldest was 21 at the time). I have more women in my family have kids in their 40s but wasn't aware of it before my twins. I was going 4-6 months between periods, my husband had a vasectomy, found out I was 2 months pregnant when I was in hospital for appendicitis. Had emergency surgery to take out my appendix. We're British, so hearing the world record is British, you made me laugh. Babies at 44 has been really hard! Babies in her 50s sounds harsh.

@@runningfromabear8354 My grandmother had her last baby at 48, he was her 8th child. What's hilarious is that he's less than a year older than me. So there was a brief window where my mum (my grandmother's oldest child) and my nan were pregnant at the same time

A friend of mine was also on some sort of hormone replacement therapy but in her early 30s. She thought she couldnt get pregnant anyways and attributed all her symptoms like weight gain and nausea to the hormones so she didnt find out she was pregnant until the 5th or 6th month

my grandma got pregnant during the "transition years" of menopause. It was her 10th or so pregnancy but since she didn't expect it at that age, they only found out at 5 months into the pregnancy. She was nearly 50 😂

@@annaf3915 Same with work mates mother as well except she was older. In my workmates own words it wasn't her mother pregnancy and age that surprised her but the knowledge that her parents were still doing it at their age.

It's been documented a lady had a baby at 63. I'd have so many mixed feelings.. depression being the first 😭

My mom had me when she was 50😭

My mom went through early menopause. She hadn't had a period in a year, and then I was conceived. She was 44.

This is a perfect example of that one show I think something about like I didn't know I was pregnant

She's already had a baby so I'm surprised that she didn't realize that she was pregnant this time. I get that she had menopause but if it quacks like a duck then check to see if it's duck before you start looking for answers elsewhere

She's got a habit of leaving the slow cooker running 😂 first the brisket and now my baby sister?? Smh. Imagine how wild conversations must go from there, coworkers and friends. Imagine they live close enough to co-parent (I mean, they're a seriously older couple, and they must wanna see their granddaughter too) so they get dropped off to daycares and it's like "Oh is this her baby sister?" "Nope, she's her aunt" "she's her what now??" And like "nah I'm babysitting my sister tonight" "wtf you said you were raised as an only child" "yea so about that, that's not exactly wrong"

The son is more fit to raise his brother as his own. He already had a little girl anyways. His parents didn't give him a sibling on time, but they can give their granddaughter a sibling.

I clerk at a grocery store and I met a 45 year old woman who had four teenagers. She was so sure she was starting menopause, was really excited for it actually. And then surprise, surprise, not menopause. When I met her, she was 7 months pregnant with baby number five and she was MAD lmao.

My friends are the same age, so until they actually got accidentally pregnant despite precautions and their youngest babies were the most loved and easiest to take care of with the help of their older siblings!

You can’t just say “ Oh hey, why don’t you give up your baby to this person/couple who are having difficulty conceiving?” To someone who’s just squeezed a baby out of their cooch. Just because it was unexpected doesn’t mean it’s unwanted! The scenarios you speak of were probably of people who either were unable to bring up their child or had planned from the beginning to give their child to a relative

Pregnant at 40 is pretty normal. I am 38, pregnant with the fifth, my mom had the ninth baby when she was 44. No IvF

Same with me my oldest sister was married when was born my dad strutted around like a cockerel in a chicken coup in his 40s still getting my mum pregnant as my brother and sisters were older they had more time for me I once asked my mum why i was here? They both died within 6 months of each other I nursed my Dad and then my Mum and was with them when they passed my mum told me before she died that's why I was there it was left to me even though the older two took early retirement at the end of the day It was left to me did my duty and id do it again my Conscience is clear unfortunately, I've just been diagnosed with breast cancer and my sister also strange how things work out.

I was surprised the doctors did not call for a neonatologist and obgyn.and overall behaved very calm, that is very unrealistic.

@sassbrat I don’t usually comment but I’m confused by the math on this one… your great grandmother gave birth to your grandfather (the youngest of 9) at 40, 25 years after the rest of the siblings. The maths would mean your great grandma had the 8 other of your grandfathers siblings before she was 15?

Happened to me too. My oldest nephew is exactly 4 months older than me, and we were like siblings until he had to move away but we've always been like accomplicea every time we see each other and he jokingly calls me "Tía" when he wants to be pampered 😅

I also know a family where the mother had children in her early 20s and then another one at 45 years old. Her grandchild was born when her daughter was 20, 2 years before his aunt

Similar situation with my friend. Her parents had all of her siblings except for her younger brother 20 years before her. She was an ‘oops’ baby when they were in their 40’s. I’ve seen pictures of her siblings and her sister looks old enough to be her aunt.

I have a nephew who is 6 months older than me. I was literally an aunt before I was born. There are photos of me and him as babies together. We went to the sane high school for a bit, some students thought we were cousins but I never corrected them because I was not going to explain how we are aunt and nephew 😂😂

I remember thinking my parents were “old parents” and they had me at 31(mom) and 36(dad). I had my first at 39 because I wasn’t married until 36 and we went through fertility hurdles. I am now 42 wondering if I want to give her a sibling… Life sometimes gives us alternate timelines and we can’t always do a lot about it.

So glad you realized that life doesn’t always work the way we thought it would or how judgmental other women can be… I say this as I always wanted children but never had any bfs or met anyone I wanted to date more than a couple times… Fast forward Im 35/36 met my LH … had 1st child at 37, 2 miscarriages, then second at 42!! YEP!! Aint over til its Over… Oh and FU to all those people who comment on the age you will be when your Child is graduating HS… I always well tell that to my friend whose Husband DIED when their kids were 5 and 3… oh… and he was only 33!!

I had my two kids in my mid/late thirties as a single mother by choice. Couldn’t find “the one” and took matters into my own hands. Still looking for him, but I’m happy to have my children and have no regrets.

@@kriscarv5708 I’ve got two friends in the same situation as me - both of them are single and a little older than me. I am not exactly single and hopefully this is it, so fingers crossed. But they have both decided to be single mothers by choice. If by 2025, I am not on the path that I think I am actually embarking on at this point in time - then I will revisit the single mother by choice scenario but I think my luck has changed and I’ll get to have a great husband first and then children

well, nobody has a kid *after* menopause, that's impossible. she was on HRT which basically prevented menopause, hence why she was still fertile.

Why don’t more women take HRT? Do women want to have menopause? Other than it costing money.

Its NOT that rare… There was something common BEFORE birth control where many women would have “menopausal babies”

supposedly the on-call OB was still "5 minutes away" but that would have been an impossibly precipitous labor, especially for a woman of her age.

@@dietotaku but she’s had two successful births before so and I’m speaking as somebody who has a lot of experience with women shall we say an older variety as one of the first responders I can tell you from knowing people who were in there almost at 50s when they had their kids and it was number one was number four and the other one it was number nine or 10 and they weren’t expecting to have a child because they’ve been menopause and I remember asking how long have you been in menopause because it’s possible to get pregnant within the first 2 to 3 years of going into menopause… Bones had babies super quick. It depends on like I said jeans and previous births generally although my friend gave birth to her son and her sister who could’ve been her mother, she’s the youngest of 29 children not all of who made it to maturity i.e. 21 years of age. Her sister was so certain that there was plenty of time to wait for the ambulance to get there and forgot about their heritage. They are half native Americans one of the first people in Canada. Although they were not living in Canada at the time of the kid question… Yeah, these things happen

My daughter works in L&D and they're chronically short-staffed. If they're managing critical cases, the ER doc would certainly handle an uncomplicated delivery. 😊

My youngest brother was a three years old uncle, we're seven childreen, I'm the oldest.

16 & 18 years behind my siblings. I was an aunt at 13. Mom had not expected to have a child at 40 either

No, you went through your pregnancy with monthly bleeding. It’s not a period, though. Period blood is the uterine lining shedding. You can’t go through that and remain pregnant. It’s possible to have bleeding throughout a pregnancy, but not a menstrual cycle.

😂my grandpa's the youngest of 9. His oldest sister had a son the same year he was born. They married sisters. When we like him, he's "Uncle Gary". When he's being a grunt head, he's "our first cousin once removed." *Edited--my phone's crap and cut me off

My family is a little wonky with ages: -My youngest aunt is only 8 years older than me -I'm 16 years older than my youngest brother -my oldest cousin had a kid at 14; which that story is a can of worms, but a 18y/o coerced him into unprotected sex and left him with the baby. He's nearly 30 now.) -My aunt (oldest cousin's mom not youngest aunt)had a surprise baby 4 years after her son's -My second oldest cousin(oldest cousin's sister) has a 4 y/o and a 2 y/o.
