Two bedrooms, one bathroom, 1920ft.². Second kitchen in unfinished basement with potential for additional bedrooms and bathroom. Would make a great mother-in-law suite!
Thanks for the little tour. I keep watching these, hoping to jog my 50 year old memory of when I lived there. Where we lived was walking distance to the elementary school, and the courthouse where my grandpa worked. Our house was next to a little white Church of God. As bratty little kids, we threw mud pies at that white church--it was too good a target. That house would be so cute with a facelift. I'd put the third bedroom back in, but open the kitchen up to the rest of the living area, and put in an island, making the kitchen/dining/living area more open, and being creative with any columns or beams to protect the roof integrity. Figure a way to add a washer/dryer hook-up upstairs. The downstairs needs to be finished as a little apartment. Whoever buys this, could rent the basement out--or live there themselves and rent the top. The house would practically pay for itself.
Many homes you show are such dumps, and the money they are asking for is like......no. The word "potential" is freely thrown around, but the amount of money needed to fix up some of these places is not worth it.
Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, prices are what they are in today's market. This particular house was listed for 159K and sold for 175K. They fixed it up and resold it for 290K. And that was only remodeling the main level. Here's a link to what it looked like after the remodel: www.zillow.com/homedetails/559-Monroe-St-Twin-Falls-ID-83301/111278536_zpid/
@@roncastro7168 I have to admit it does look totally different from before. I certainly would have taken out those trees and planted new ones. Thanks for providing the link to how it looks now.
Thanks for the feedback. Fixer-uppers can certainly be daunting. This particular one was listed for 159K and was purchased for 175K. The new owners fixed up the main level only and resold the property for 290K.
