Meet Sebastian. He is a young boy with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy. His family wants to help me share treatment suggestions to help children like him across the world. My clinic, Child and Family Development, in Charlotte, NC, allowed me to use their facilities and their equipment to showcase Sebastian's skill and charming personality. We review techniques to reduce stiffness, encourage strength and control. I think you'll love spending time with him. Thank you to this family and my clinic for allowing this to happen.
These videos may be more helpful seen in order as I perform easier treatment techniques first. Here is the link to his playlist:
• Pediatric Physical The...
I also have available 4 children's educational books addressing Autism, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. I now also have 3 professional books "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Hips", "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Knees, and "Pediatric Physical Therapy Exercises for the Ankles." If you have questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me at amysturkey@gmail.com. Please note: I am unable to provide treatment suggestions for a child I have not personally evaluated.
I am so honored to have people from all over the world watch my videos. I have reviewed and corrected the closed captions for this video so that you might understand what I am saying even if you don't speak English. I hope the directions below are helpful to you.
To turn on Captions, click CC in the bottom or top right corner of the video
To choose a different caption language:
At the bottom right, click Settings. It looks like a wheel.
Click Subtitles/CC.
Select a language.
If the language isn't listed when you click Subtitles/CC:
Click Auto-translate.
Select a language.
Of course, if the captions are in the way of viewing the details in the video, you can always turn them off in the bottom or top right-hand corner of your video screen.

Amy I would like to know.. is there any improvement that you're seeing in Sebastian... Please make a video of before and after therapy... My heart is really melting for this kid

He has improved over time in his ability to walk in a walker, his ability to reach, his ability to drive a power wheelchair, and his ability to hold up his head. I have documented over 70 videos of him overtime. You could compare earlier videos and later videos.

Can i use hot packs before stretching in child with cp?
@pediatricPTexercises
@pediatricPTexercises 9 месяцев назад
I have done that. Be careful. Often affected extremities don’t have as much blood flow. Your child may experience more heat than you might

That is a good idea. Kyphosis can be very hard to treat. In the meantime, here is my back strengthening playlist: ru-vid.com/group/PLAkJbMrHyKjMVmGK03-WxRdCiraQ8ujU8

@@mmom8508 Sorry. Maybe we miscommunicated. I sent you the link to my playlist for back extension strengthening. I don’t have any appropriate kids for doing kyphosis videos for you right now. So sorry.

I recommend you Find a local pediatric physical therapist who can help you. They can customize a program to your specific needs. I am considering doing videos with some older individuals with cerebral palsy. Wishing you the best
