Glad it made your day. I haven't been there for a while now, but I belive the area has been developed. A cousin and uncle live on Barnburgh Lane, not seen them for a while either. My mate was the driver of the 56, and he encouraged me to film this...thank God he did.
I am a personal friend of the driver (Lewis Jackson), and he suggested I go down and film this working....and now I am very pleased I did. Thank you for your comment.
Thank you very much indeed for your super comment, and am pleased you enjoyed the video. As the pit is now no more, this is historic footage. Please pass the link on to your friends. Thank you once again. David Cooper
Your comments are the soul purpose of taking the film originally, and then through you tube, sharing it so people like you can re-live and enjoy it. Thank you so much for your comment, and very happy you lived the past for a little while.
Very pleased indeed you enjoyed the video, thank you for your comments. I had a great opportunity to have a day out on a 56 with the driver lewis Jackson, but never went. How I wish I could turn the clock back!!
Interesting that, the driver of the loco used to be a trainspotter. We all wanted to be train drivers when we were at school (in the 50's and early 60's of course).
Your comment is very welcome...thanks. I am glad I made the effort to film this, as you have said...it is all gone now. I think houses have been built here now, so this is archive film.
@madmick04 Sorry to take so long to reply, but you are dead right...a bomb up the arse for Mag for destroying our County . I have heard that Hickey box is to come down, what a sad day that will be. So glad I took this film and that you enjoyed watching.
