Thank you for your video. I can't find anywhere when this new royalty policy will happen. "Early 2024", I know, but when exactly?

These kinds of updates often depend on various factors, including final policy adjustments and platform readiness, which can affect the specific rollout date.

How about as créatives, we use or let me say launch our own streaming service. Literally, the algorithm may change but our motives won't that's business.

Owning a platform can indeed offer more control over the distribution, presentation, and monetization of your work. However, it's also a venture that comes with its own set of challenges, including technical development, legal considerations, content acquisition, and user acquisition.

As a nooby, I'm having a hard time figuring out what to accomplish first. Hoping I can get some answers for making beats/instrumentals/selling online. I don't know if I need an LLC first, Copyright, or just do Distrokid.🤷🏾‍♂️

Before worrying about the business side of things, ensure that you're creating high-quality, unique beats or instrumentals. It's a good idea to protect your work legally. An LLC can protect your personal assets from your business liabilities and may offer tax benefits. However, it's not urgent when you're just starting out unless you have significant personal assets to protect or you're in a situation with higher risks of legal issues. Services like DistroKid can distribute your beats/instrumentals to major platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and others. They handle the distribution and collect royalties on your behalf, making it easier for you to focus on your music.

@@OmariMC_ Thanks for the info...I feel it could be a help to and protect with taxes if and when money becomes involved. With purchases and income, I don't want a huge amount of overhead to worry about. Especially if I can obtain some business help i.e. grants or other funding sources. Thanks for your reply! Hope to be on the journey by March!

It's nearly Impossible to get viral these days, no matter how good your music is. Music business is just so unfair and capitalistic... Being fame nowadays really has nothing to do with talent, passion or work. Small artists, please just keep doing and never give up

That's true. The key is persistence and adaptability. Success in the music industry has always required more than just talent. It demands resilience, the willingness to learn and adapt, and the courage to keep putting your art out there, even when the odds seem stacked against you.
