Amazing to see this, it brings back so many memories. I used to travel between the Haymarket and Melton town centre, and vice versa, every weekday for two years in the late 90's when I was at Melton College. Rough maths, I travelled this route nigh on a thousand times, over two years. You'd think that making the same journey so many times would imprint a vivid memory of the whole route in your mind, but it kind of does and doesn't. Once you travel out of Leicester City Centre and hit Syston, the rest of the journey into Melton Mowbray becomes a blur of samey countryside. There's a lot which doesn't remain as a vivid picture in your mind. It's just a series of flashbulb landmark points which I remember. The little humpy bridge just outside of Asfordby Road is one of the last things which really stuck in my mind until you hit Syston, going in the Melton to Leicester direction. It used to be a Midland Fox X1 or X1A bus back then, with only slight deviation of the route in Melton between the two services. But this 5a bus travels mostly the same route, albeit with a slight difference in the first couple of minutes in this video which threw me a little. Thanks for filming this, perfect speed increase and editing. It's going into my favourites.
Omg that's so cool! I'm glad this brought back good memories for you, and I agree, after Syston there Is loads of countryside and it is a nice route to go on! Thank you so much for this lovely comment
