I played there 1977-79 , driving from Jersey City. Bamboo flag sticks, scruffy conditions, 6 hour rounds, no tee times. Starter had a blackboard first come first served. Singles were fit in wherever. Course looks great now.
LaTourette used to be “home” course also. I was a member of the LaTourette Men’s (Golf) Club from 1998 to 2008 and I was the handicap chairman for the last 6 or 7 years. Ive must’ve played over 100 rounds there over the years, nice to see it on RU-vid. Great course but prefer South Shore better, its more challenging with its shorter par 4’s and the layout is better. Used to go sleigh riding down what used to be the 10th hole back in the late 60’s early 70’s (I’m 57). Great content, like the positive attitude, which is about 90% of the game ! Brian S. Is my PT , he recommended your South Shore GC video you did and ive been subscribed since then.
I really appreciate the subscription, Stephen! Brian is one of my favorites. Always a gentleman. Growing up on Staten Island it was really fun to be able to film at both South Shore and back La Tourette. I’m glad to hear you’re enjoying the videos! Thanks again for checking them out
@@ShotShaverGolf yes Brian has been great working with me on my Shoulder (left rotator cuff surgery in Dec 19) and more recently bone on bone arthritis in my left hip. His PT has worked wonders on both my hip and shoulder. I was just at the LaTourette range late this afternoon and was hitting my 2016 TM M2 driver incredibly well !
Great vlog. Barring your pitching wedge you played great. Was it just the weather or do you need to upgrade your camera? what did you think of the condition of Latourette?
