Does it actually feel like there's concave with this pedal? I'm kinda off wary to purchase cuz it has that hump for the axle. And how's the grip compared to the one ups?

I don't feel the center hump for the axle at all - and I've used a myriad of shoes with these - some Altra Running shoes, some 5/10's and some vans. Grip is slightly less than the OneUps, but I like that...I feel like there's enough traction when needed and also slightly less to re-position when needed. I felt the OneUps were a pain to try and reposition

I have been running OneUp aluminum pedals for 2 years now. I recently purchased the same 5DEV All Around pedals on a whim. How do these 5DEV's compare to the OneUp's? In terms of aesthetics, the 5DEV's have sharp angles and edges, partly because they are CNC machined. The OneUp's are very rounded/contoured, which means they're forged? Not sure...

I found the One Ups to have a bit more grip than the 5Dev....which in my case was a good thing. I felt that I could pivot my foot easier when getting back on the bike or in technical sections. The 5Dev also feel slightly smaller compared to very large one ups. I'm still running the 5Dev with no complaints

Do you ever plan on making a review of your mountain bike and if you’d buy it again? Nice video!

Any chance you could measure how far out the edge of the platform is from the crank arm when installed?

I did buy them and after instaling pins i did find up there is BEARING BULGE which reduce platform size to only 90mm... So i did return them.

Good info. I just swapped these out for the new Yoshimura Chilao SS

Are they even rebuildable for $250?
@themtbnetwork2699
@themtbnetwork2699 9 месяцев назад
The pedals in my video are the "All Around" pedals and sell for $189. And yes, they're fully rebuildable and can be taken apart by two Allen keys. No proprietary tools

What the heck? Did you give up the RC game? if so sell me some of those rigs.
@themtbnetwork2699
@themtbnetwork2699 2 года назад
Yep - no more RC vids for now. I only kept 2 RC's though too - an 1/8th scale buggy and the VS410 pro scale truck. All the rest went to help fund getting a new MTB and other things.

250$ made of 6061-t6. It should be 7075 at this price, I understand the "craftsmanship" but that's a CNC mill like they use in every shop and there's not a ton of hand finishing. Not saying it's a rip-off but you don't get much value for that price...

The ones in my video are the "All Around" pedals and sell for $189. Still premium, but in line with other top end aluminum pedals. I think for material, 6061 is fine...it's not a stress part like a frame. The axles takes all of the abuse anyways

I want to support USA companies but to be honest the pedals just are really bad. Shimano clip on pedals the best. For flat pedals, I went with PEMBREE. The best! They are made in house in the UK and they use German ball bearings and nothing can match PEMBREE.
@themtbnetwork2699
@themtbnetwork2699 Год назад
Have you used the 5Dev's? Just like I won't comment about Pembree....because I haven't used them. I was a SPD user for over 20 years, but my foot pain doesn't allow the use of narrow shoes anymore.
@LaurentiusTriarius
@LaurentiusTriarius 11 месяцев назад
They are not bad but made of the cheapest and softer aluminium grade we use for cycling. It's okay for beefy stems and some other chunky part but you don't use 6061 where it could get hit, like pedals, or it's critically weight bearing, like pedals. It's understandable on a set of cheap pedals but at 250$ it's a bit ratty for my taste...
@LaurentiusTriarius
@LaurentiusTriarius 11 месяцев назад
Put simply the "airy" design is good looking but it's missing material for durability if made out of 6061, 7075 is double the tensile strength but not double the price...

You gotta put the pins in them 😂🖕

Yeah, first time I've seen that on any pedals....and I've checked out quite a few.
