5EFE engine needs new bearings

So after engine #1 lost oil pressure on the dyno from an oil pump problem from foreign material... i decided i can still use this engine, i found a good crank and some new bearings to get the job done! enjoy

Yeah a bit sad finding that problem... but at least the engine is still repairable

Should lube/oil be applied to the upper bearings before inserting the crank? Saw it somewhere about it being incorrect, not sure though.🤔

Yeah I used to use engine oil but after removing the bearings after the first start up, there was damage already on the bearings. I now use an engine assembly lube/grease on all moving surfaces before start up

Matt Berry lol still am dude. I got Pete’s laser to run a 10.6 with is 1.6 and the cylinder head off my street car. His new car has ran 9.4 (all motor) both fwd, you’ve got a long way to go but keep things simple and you’ll get there.

is there a thin washer under the cap that goes on the spring in the oil relief valve?

@@MattBerrymotorsport Oh good 😅! Because I’m building and 5efhe and i cleaned the valve. I also added another thin washer to up the pressure a bit because I always hear the 5e suffers from low oil pressure.

So the problem was useing chinese beer cans for bearing or assembly lube? Lol. Side note could prolly use beer cans as shim material if your con rods are worn
