I just picked up my 5 g 3 broadband its pretty good im using now . I love how its simple to use and install. I got the sales assistant to put the sim in
The issue I have with three broadband is the WIDE inconsistent issues that natively comes with radio technology. The other issue I had, was the router themselves are missing some very important functions. Along with poor updates from three... Waiting so long for vital firmware updates
It worked fine for me past few weeks i have been issue with this they slow down your speed mine gets capped at 120mpbs before it was 400mbps now it all changed
According to Ofcom site, Three is only good Data network at our address. Three say this isn’t available in our area but that the smaller Huwawai unit is ok? The problem is that we can’t have a Huwawei device in our address due to Son’s employment. If both units work off of a Three sim wouldn’t this unit work any?
I’m moving into a newly built apartment with a bog standard coaxial line and no current prospect for FTTP 😅 Luckily I’m able to get 100mbps on my (capped) mobile data, so I’m really optimistic this will provide a good connection. 2 ethernets is awesome and I shall setup a powerline kit to provide Ethernet to the office room
Hi mate, nice video. I'm contemplating cancelling my virgin contract and I've been eyeing up this packed for the last week. There's new mask been put in 5 mins from where I live. I was wondering 8 months on from this video you posted, how has the unit held up after all this time? Any better, any worse? Cheers mate.
What about the noise level? I have heard, that this model have a fan installed? Can you hear the fan? Is there an option to modify rpm of the fan in the menu?
@@TheTravellingScotsman I literally just plugged my eero into the back with ethernet and set up my eero and works perfectly fine, so I'd assume it be the same for you. I'm getting much faster speeds now than I ever did on virgin.
This doesn’t seem to be working for me. I have symbols In order. Green, blue, red, green? Yet my router is upstairs at the window. Tried downstairs window too. But nothing seem to be working. Checked the coverage before purchasingand my area is completely fine and covered. Just not understanding why
Hi, I’ve recently bought the EE mobile broadband hub but been having issues with the connectivity dropping out after around 20 minutes meaning I have to restart it. Is this a problem with the 3 mobile broadband? Does it stay constantly on?
hi thanks for the video, I received the Hub today, but I cant connect it, does not have the strenght signal, is blue and blinking, please how can I connect,
This device shows good coverage in our area... should i consider buying ?? Also please tell do i need to add the sim ?? Will that sim be charged monthly apart from £20 for device
Is it definitely connected to 5G? The reason I ask is that I have just received this router on the same deal you have. Mine says the 5G signal is poor ( no bars) and with auto switch enabled by default, keeps swapping between 4G and 5G resulting in the same kind of low speeds you had (15-50Mbs). If I set it to use 4G only I get 140Mbs. My Three mobile phone can get 350Mbs 5G in the same location so I would expect the same from the Zyxel nr5103e router , I'm suspecting a hardware fault preventing 5G from working and I'm currently in contact with Three's tech support.
I have excellent 5G in my house 350Mbs, its just the Zyxel router they sent me can't detect any 5G at all. Hence the low speeds as it constantly auto switches between 4G and 5G. I've asked for a replacement router as this seams to be a known issue on these routers. I thought the problem I have looked quite similar to the low speeds you were getting @@BlatentlyFakeName
@@andrewpape1598 I had 3 network and the signal was rubbish and I changed for Lebara 5G for £25 a month just the voucher. I have around 90 MB/s on the ethernet only so I decided to using it's Chinese rubbish router for £120 from AliExpress. I connected glinet router with VPN and the speed I have around 80 MB/s properly enough for laptops or other things only I struggle with online movies from the tv boxes but no more contracts
@digitalhamradioScanner I watched the speed tests the first time I watched the video and totally missed the ping lol I just caught it on my second watch through. Cheers
Remember to switch to three's other APN to get the proper 1500 MTU otherwise online gaming won't work very well and you'll get loads of lag. They come set up to use their "threeinternet" APN, which has a very small MTU.
Annoyingly youtube filter removes the post if I post it. But you can find it by googling. Change it under broadband, celluar APN. You can test it before and after by pinging with the options: -f -l 1472. Before changing you will get a fragmentation error, after it should ping normally. A lot of online games need at least a about a 1400 MTU to work properly but on the default APN it's too low :/
quick question my family is bieng weird and turned of the connection for my phone do you know how to reset it without the logging in on the app and from the router or box also it works with my laptop but not my ipad or ps4
Ah really torn with choosing my next provider. Currently on sky with standard fibre. (Superfast is not available in my area) so looking at this as an alternative. My son games online in his bedroom and i watch movies in the living room. Do you think i will have any lag issues with his online gaming? Ibwould probably use ethernet for TV
@HamTechRadioScannerDrones I've tested my 5g from my phone, the same network in the hotspot in his bedroom, and it works fine. Surely it's got to be faster than my current setup with basic sky/bt set up? Think I might take the plunge and send it back if it doesn't work fast enough. How are you getting on with yours?
I think the speed for wireless is slower due to usage of single SSID name which combines both of 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz signal. Most router these days can do that. If thats the case, maybe you can try to separate to 2 separate SSID for 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz and then connect to only SSID of 5Ghz. Maybe there's a slight chance you can get better speed that way.
I've moved it around all over the house the best signal i get is ratted 'good' in the app. I think three is throttling the speeds because its consistent 9pm there it drops. been happening for the past 6 weeks or so. @@HamTechRadioScannerDrones
Trying to decide between Virgin and Three but can only get 4G on Three. Three doing £11 a ,month for first 6 months which is incredibly cheap. Need decent reliability so do not know whether to go with Virgin for hard cable although their reviews are not great, Currently with Vodafone but only get 35mb but very reliable and just me but a couple of pound more than Virgin. But until 5G kicks off more not sure whether to just go with Virgin at £24 and supposedly 150 mb. Not sure I want to switch to a new contract relying on 4G alone.
@@HamTechRadioScannerDrones Thanks for replying, just logged at the 4G speeds on 3 and they are pretty awful. There site is slightly misleading as it only quotes the 5G speed and does not indicate what your will be getting on 4G or a range. Not even sure if some may not realise the speed.
hi can you explain the purpose of the sim card ?? im currently with another broadband provider and looking to buy this to use whilst gaming because i’ve been lagging a lot. i’m just confused about the sim card as on the website it refers to my phone number being something new ??
Hi so instead of this being a wired connection to you home phone it is like having a extra mobile phone dedicated to 5g , you can then run Ethernet cables from this unit to Lan connectors.
So what are we talking about here? .................. will you be able to connect directly to this device with your cell to make calls, instead of a local cell tower?
That bit describing the inability of your family to live harmoniously without mediating their undeniable hatred for one another via an internet connection that takes their mind far away from a reality they wish nothing more than to escape, is Scary. *How much 5G radiation does it take to nuke family fertility?*
