I was feeling Low on my 5G knowledge and alot of scattered data was in my head, thanks for compiling adding new information and making it interesting! Man you Rock. if you can make such VIDEOS on IP/MPLS that would also be great.

Pls note: SGW in EPC is serving gateway not software. In NGC we have AMF (Access and Mobility management function) where F denotes Functions. And there are 7 options deployed and option 3 have two other options as well 3a and 3x.

In NSA network...the main source of data is from 4G network then how we are getting more speed.in 5G??...because 5G is extended to 4G network. Please make it clear

Hi Baljinder. In NSA, LTE is used to connect to 5G in terms of RRC signalling. Once the connection is established, data can be used either from 4G or 5G or both and that is why we get more throughput/data speed.

Hi Varun. Option 3x has been explained as Option 3 and Option 3a as known in 3GPP specifications. X stands for either 3a or the simple 3 option.

This is informative, good video ! Question: At 6.26, what do you mean by data collection at eNB ? What kind of data is it and who uses this data for what purpose ?

Hi Sanjeet. The data collection part refers to the user plane data. In Option 3, the user plane data from both gnb and enb is collected at enb and then passed on to EPC. In option 3a, user plane data is collected at EPC where both enb and gnb provide their user plane data to EPC. I hope that made it clearer.
