Happy 5th anniversary, found your channel because of the Godzilla reviews and I have stayed with it because of your quirky exuberance. While you say you will never write the story of Jerome Weiselberry, but in fact you have created the story of Jerome through other means (ie this channel). Wishing you well and I look forward to many more years with this channel. 😘🎉

This is so reminiscent of early youtube videos... I love it. I have a nostalgia of the times before there were dedicated 'creator/influencers' types. This is the type of youtube vid I wish was more common.

"Dickensian" - I just learned a new adjective to sound more intelligent with my friends! :) Cool word and LOVE your channel. I am an actor, classic film pundit (also produced/appeared-in a classic, Boston neo-noir film tribute project on my channel) and belong to several social media groups for classic films. Discovered your channel a few days ago and I am definitely going to pass it around! Can't wait for the big 10th anniversary video! :)

I wondered a few times if your name was maybe an anagram, but figured it likely wasn't because you've expressed you're kind of a private person and I imagine you'd want to preserve as much of your anonymity as possible (which is smart) and thus it wouldn't be a spin on your given name. It was fun to hear how your channel started! You're in my top three favorite youtube channels. Your work is fantastic. Congrats on your five year mark, and so many well-deserved subs! 🎉🙌

I was wondering where the name came from! What I can't figure out is why it took 9 years for your channel to show up in my recommendations. A lot of my views are older movies and channels that talk about them. I'm glad it finally did though. After watching just a handful of videos, this channel has moved to the top of my list. Our views/opinions on a lot of movies are exactly alike. I think my favorite aspect is that you are never overly negative about movies you didn't care for. You always find something positive to say. That's very refreshing in this day and age.

Interesting story. Two things come to mind. First, better that you chose Jerome Weiselberry and not Anatole Simpkins. One is nicely Dickensian and clearly distinguishable from you, the presenter. The other, not so much. Second, your story reminded me a lot of the great writer Fernando Pessoa. If you haven’t read his works, I highly recommend them. His use of created names and identities is also quite interesting.

Congratulations on 5 years! Thank you for the explanation on the name. I'm fairly new to your channel, I discovered you because of Godzilla. And then I saw we share a liking for older movies so I was hooked. Even your videos on subjects I don’t know much about I find very enjoyable. I'm a giant monsters, superheroes and lightsabers movies type of guy so movies like Jane Eyre and Pride and Prejudice are intimidating to me. But you really make them relatable and you are slowly chipping away at the barrier that keeping me from watching them. And your comparison videos are really helping decide which version to watch. Thanks for that. I can understand needing to take a break, you need a moment to recharge. I hope you keep making videos, so take all the time you need. I really enjoy the show

I'm glad I found your channel. One of the best discoveries I've made on RU-vid. "Life" has meant that I've had to focus on other things in recent years, but watching these videos reconnects me to a time in my past where I wanted nothing more than to read books from the library and watch classic movies (and you always give me new things to watch!). You're so random and eclectic too. Never change : ) Oh, and your story about your name bears a remarkable resemblance to my preferred pseudonym -- "Adrian Carlisle" -- which stems from a character in a story a friend and I never finished that we started in middle school 20 years ago. But it wasn't Dickensian...more like Edwardian-American? I hardly remember now. But it's funny how things like that can last years and years. I remember the title of the story and the characters, but our 13 year old selves didn't have the faintest clue about plotting so it was never properly started/written. Henry James we were not....just two idiot boys who watched too much Masterpiece Theater. But the name lives on. :)

WOW, Happy 5th Anniversary Jerome, WOW again. Seems like you share this day with another popular character. Mary Shelly's Frankenstein is 222 years old according to Bing. The adventures of the awkward Country Lawyer/Solicitor Jerome Weiselberry and his partner Anatol Simpkins is something I would read :). I love the name you've created, it has so much personality and story in itself. The content you produce is always interesting, we love it, you have a natural ease in front of camera and a wonderful way of expressing your thoughts, you deliver content regularly at a standard mainstream creators would find difficult to accomplish, particularly because no mainstream creator I have seen appears to have someone as knowledgable as you on their staff, yet! an organisation like TCM would be lucky to have you, it must get quite exhausting at times, we your viewers understand the need for breaks and would happily wait as long as it takes for new videos if it meant you have not an ounce of stress to contend with. You're a creator, you've created content on subjects viewers will be finding for years to come, a girl in Britain, the U.S. Australia, France discovers a love of Jane Eyre will probably find your videos, Godzilla, Classic Film/TV, Pride and Prejudice, Phantom of the Opera and so much more. 🎉Happy 5th Anniversary Ms Weiselberry and thank you.

I love the name "Jerome Weiselberry" for this channel. If you had named your channel Book Review or Movie Chats or something or other that would have pretty much limited what you can talk about. The great thing about the name Jerome Weiselberry is that it's so non-specific that you never know what you are going to get with this channel. All you know is that, whatever it is, it's going to be entertaining. However, I am disappointed it's not an anagram. These days it's not entirely unheard of for someone to give their daughter a boy's name. I know of a woman named Jedediah. Second, do you still write stories or have any dreams of being a published author someday? I do. When I was younger I had dreams of writing the story of my life like Laura Ingalls Wilder, but then as I got older I realized that my life wasn't as half exciting as her life was. So for the past couple of months I have been writing a fictional piece of work which is loosely inspired by my own personal experiences with autism. I have high functioning autism and I know there are a ton of misconceptions out there about autism and how it affects people. I hope that my writing will help correct some of those misconceptions. You and your channel have kind of inspired me. Just like you had to step a little out of your comfort zone to post videos, I am having to step out of my comfort zone to speak to other people about autism. If you can succeed after all the hard work you put into this channel, then maybe I can too.

Aw, thank you, Kayla! I'm so honored to have played a part in helping you get started writing about something so important to you. Most of the writing I'm doing these days is for my videos, but there are ideas now and then that I'd like to get to sometime, if I can find the time. :) Best of luck on your writing, and I hope we can both continue to step out of our comfort zones!

My wife asked if you were a guy who preferred being feminine (though she had only glimpsed at the screen as we watched your The Prisoner review - she was cooking dinner). She said, "save that video... like and subscribe, she adorable and lovely." Plus, she likes writers and bloggers but we only follow a few. Have a great day! This we a great story!

Ah! I have to admit that I thought that your parents had an odd sense of humour. From comments you have made, your Mom sounds like a very interesting person around whom it's never dull. I'm a high school teacher. I have encountered some poor souls whose Mom or Dad landed them with a moniker that gave them a lot of grief. Weiselberry isn't the worst choice by any means. Thank heavens you didn't choose a surname like 'Lilycrap.' Your choice has a wonderfully Dickensian ring to it. May you continue to thrive!

Have no fear, my parents are good, sensible people who would never do anything like that to any of their kids. :) Thanks!

Woah! Though it was not an earth shattering reveal for me but still it was an interesting reveal. Since i'm from India so i don't have much knowledge about foreign names. As you said in video that Jerome was the name of a guy but to me it sounds a girlish name. I actually thought that it's your real name, but just now i read the description of this channel and then checked out this video. Anyways it's a beautiful name and being a girl myself i can understand your concerns at that time. I never had difficulty in pronouncing your name. I can understand the pronunciation problem because even my name is difficult to pronounce and many people often don't get the correct pronunciation of my name.

I'm someone who assumed that it was your real name, and I thought it was kind of cool for a woman to be named Jerome. There's a main female character in the manga and anime Gunsmith Cats that in most translations is nicknamed Rally. BUT, the creator, Kenichi Sonoda, has said that the woman's nickname is actually supposed to be *Larry*. But due to the whole "Ls and Rs" thing it became Rally. But I really liked the idea of her being Larry, just as I'm fond of thinking of you as Jerome. Sometimes a man's name just fits a woman. Forgive me, but you'll always be Jerome to me!

I assumed Jerome Weiselberry was your husband, and you were posting on his channel because people liked you more than him... like maybe he got demoted to cameraman. Whenever your videos come up, I always say, “Oh jolly day, Mrs. Weiselberry has posted a new review!”

I thought "Jerome Weiselberry" was your real name. It suits you...well, your onscreen persona anyway. I'd recommend your channel if I knew anyone I consider Weiselberry-worthy. But I don't think I do. You are such a terrific reviewer and you have such a nice community here that I'd hate to introduce a discordant element. Anyway, thanks for the explanation and happy anniversary!

Thank you, Ann! I'm glad you've found it such a pleasant community to interact with. If any rowdy interlopers do try to cause trouble, they're dealt with, but for the most part, everybody behaves themselves. Your comments are very welcome additions, and I appreciate you for sharing them. :)
