Ah, being seven years old again, on the verge of a heart attack, as I tried again and again to beat what was, in my young mind, the battle of the ages.
I remember as a kid as soon as this music hit my heart just starts beating, hands start sweating, and I take a deep ass breath like "here we fucking go". Some great memories here
I will never forget the first time I finally beat Lance after who knows how many tries. On my last attempt we were both on our last pokemon, Lance of course was a Dragonite. Both HP were red and it was Lance's turn and he fired a Hyper Beam...only for the attack to miss. I hit him with an Ice Beam and won! Single most satisfying victory in a pokemon game I've ever had!
@@vicio19995 Alto Mando: Mando vendría a significar mandatario, y alto, que son los más importantes. Es una metáfora que significa "Los que mandan" o "Los mandatarios más importantes"
This is nostalgia AT ITS BEST! I would stay up so fucking late every night as a kid replaying the Pokémon league champs to level up high enough to wreck lance. And the music was amazing
There's something I've always found so cool about hearing it twice. You fight Lance and this plays, making it feel like the final battle. ...Then you come across Red, and it's like the game's TRUE final boss, and the song plays again. I friggin' love it.
One thing for me was how everyone shades ghetsis for having a under leveled hydreigon and everyone lost their minds, yet lance had 3, 3 (THREEEEEE) underleveled dragonite's and no one bats an eye, tf
@@comingup5350 i despise ghetsis for ruining my epic moment with N, i just had a Legendary Clash of ideal with a Rival, a genius like me then some lousy old man came in and try to beat us with some Normal pokemon !!?
It's also how the music syncs up with you throwing out your pokemon at the exact moment everything gets super intense. Like as a kid in your head you just fucking screamed "Go" whoever your favorite pokemon is and everything has been for this exact moment and at the height of the music that's whenever everything fucking pops off
@@chrisclancy6756 how there like gen 2 goofy but serious, easy but sometimes difficult, memorable characters, and even some new Pokemon that have turned iconic instantly so if you say gen 6-8 are bad that applies to gen 2-3 being bad there's no bad generation of Pokemon
@@turkeysgotmorecloutthanyou nothing personal but that's just plain wrong. That Lysander wants to destroy doenst make it so serious if the whole setup and plan is goofy
@@mrtrollnator123deffo needed cooler moves earlier i remember as kid playing gold for the first time with no internet access wondering what moves they learn and being disappointed lile chikorita not learning vine whip etc like a certain should be able to learn more that a couple of its own type of move surely ?
I played heartgold and I can say that it is not an easy battle.I played through all generations up until generation 6 and that was the hardest battle I had just before red.Everything is easy to beat on his team except for dragonites which are REALLY powerful. Not only it is a sudo legendary with 600 BST,there were no other dragon type pokemon other than dratini line and kingdra back then which kingdra was a trade evolution and you couldn't get dragonite until level 55.Fairies weren't a thing either. So your best bet would be Ice type which is the rarest type up until this day.Other than legendaries and pokemon that came out later, you don't have many options and let me tell ya,lance covered most of them.Lapras?Thunder.Jynx?because of its poor defenses, outrage.Steel types resist dragon but both scizor and steelix are trade evolutions.in short,he is a tough opponent because of the lack of counters to his team.
Lance, while having pokemon that are around 20 levels lower than the last champion, is actually a fairly hard fight, he has 3 fairly strong and tanky dragonites and a charizard that knows flamethrower. Not to mention every single pokemon in his team knows the dreaded hyper beam, so if you don't take each one of them down in one hit, he could use the move at any time. I had to use many revives and hyper potions just to take him down. You may think he's a breeze due to the horrendously low leveled pokemon he has compared to gen 1, but exp is even more scarce in the second gen.
Assim vc completa um final possível do jogo, onde vc se torna um grande campeão pokémon, pra mim é tão épico quanto vencer o red, ambos os finais são incríveis mesmo que os dois possam ser feitos
My first team was Noctowl, Lanturn, Hypno, Gyarados(Red) , Ampharos & Typhlosion But as I went to kanto The greatest team I had was Steelix, Dewgong, Hypno, Dragonite, Lugia & Typhlosion
@@karoid6409 OK. Well I had very much pokémon 5 boxes full. And I had the whole alphabet of the Unown. My third team consisted of Golduck, Umbreon, Sneasel, Dragonite, Lugia and Typhlosion
Lol. I tried making these videos interesting by dragging out the battle a bit. Unfortunately, everytime I used Sleep Talk it used Rest, which became a never ending cycle dragging the battle too long. I almost re-recorded it, but then I would have had to start from my last saving point which was the Elite Four 1.
@@SupaBilly It works as a tanking strategy though, so I really appreciate you doing that. I just know that you can use Rest while in sleep, since sleep-inducing move won't affect an already asleep target.
Yeah sleep talk in gen two was way better but maybe slightly broken because you could use rest while resting and basically have an infinite restoration loop lol
yeah in yellow version, lance was last one of elite 4 and Blue beat all of elite 4 first and become pokemon league champion, and soon, Red beat elite 4, too. And then Red and Blue have a battle. And Red win. and time flies, Lance become a pokemon league champion and now he is facing with Gold.
I wish I could play the gold one but I can't I'd have to have a game boy advance or something It is better than yellow for certain cause when Pokemon get to a real high level their health goes out slow and that is real cool
