My name is Jerilyn and welcome to OUR HOMESCHOOL TABLE! I am a mom of three kids! My oldest is nine and in fourth grade, my middle is almost three and my youngest is ten months old! I taught Kindergarten for six years before I began staying home. This is my fifth year homeschooling and love sharing about all things homeschool!

I love your idea for the memory verses!! We've struggled with that portion this year with Sonlight. We actually shelved our HBL-D this year. Ans have only used the books as readers and some read alouds. But i miss using it. Sonlights schedule is amazing!! Plan to pick it back up next year!😊

Sometimes taking a break is good. 👍🏻 Our first year with Sonlight (2020-21) we started in August, had a terrible fire come through our area so we had to evacuate for a week, then upon returning I was just emotionally exhausted (and pregnant 😂) so we put everything aside except Math and Learning to Read. Then finally in January we started back up with everything again. 😃

We love sonlight!!! We buy the books separately tho where we can!!! I make books to make homeschool easier as well especially with our morning virtues!!! We loved learning about William Wilberforce!!! One year I tossed unused science lap books I bought!!! My kids have made their own book of centuries so we use that book!!! We don’t use the timeline figures much as they write it down!!! We are science ppl but we don’t do labs when we should but end up getting to most of them!!! I love making curriculum like that!!!

Yes, lapbooking could be too much! We did lapbooking with our history curriculum last year, while it was fun it was also a lot of work!😅

So true! We tried the Hands on History projects with Level C and I think we only got to half the projects. 😢

I like the curriculum picks you have chosen but I unfortunately had a hard time hearing what you was saying about the curriculum pieces but I still watched the video all the way thru because I found the pieces interesting I just wish I could have heard what you was saying better

Ugh why does so many have to promote Sonlight its way to expensive in our economy today!!! All I want is to find a good History/Science Curriculum that’s not going to break the bank but It seems lik all I’m finding is sponsored videos promoting the same expensive curriculums

Sorry you aren’t finding what you need. Have you looked at Ambleside Online? The curriculum guide itself is free, you can get the books used. Also, Masterbooks and The Good and the Beautiful have some cheaper options. 😃 Have a great day!
