Thank you for making and sharing this video. It helped confirm that I am an 5w4. It's been a struggle because I am an INFP, and many argue that INFP's and 5's cannot be one and the same. I laughed out loud when you asked about how many tabs were open on the computer. I am guilty of having 400 open on my phone right now (I might need them and I'm currently researching others).
I'm INFP and I've been struggling to type myself either 4 or 5... It feels like I relate more of 5 fear of being incompetent as opposed to 4 fear of being ordinary and desire to be unique. I tally myself for this video and the result is 11 points for 5w4, and 8 points for 4w5....almost 50/50 lol

This may sound strange to some people but I am an INFP yet also a 5w4...I heard it is usually uncommon and I often feel like a half-full, half-empty glass of water about it. Is it possible to leap back and forth between the two? Because I truly believe I used to be a 4w5 in the past on a very high scale, but that was still back when I was facing identity issues and in the process of finding who I really am though. Since I've matured now, I see myself as leaning more towards the 5w4 stereotype. Is it because I've changed my personality or is it still the same as it was and I simply just matured from it?

Does anyone else feel that, after learning the Eneagram, you can't stop thinking of better ways to explain it to loved ones? I'm curious bc, when I first saw value in it, I tried to explain it to loved ones but they acted like it wasnt important. So I kinda gave up trying to make them see it. Then after rethinking everything with a better understanding, I know now I won't stop until I find the perfect way to explain it. In a way that people take me serious enough, that they put just a little of my kind of work in, to learn it.
@@Hephzibah624 what made me think I was a 5w4 was my search for the "deep" information. And coming acrossed very introverted bc once I get started researching a subject I literally cannot stop until I have it sorted in my mind and feel I have tied in the information with the rest of my knowledge base. But I'm also very artistic. I've been an artist since I was a youngster. I've always been known as "the artist" to everyone I know. And due to believing I was a 5 previously, and everything I've read and watched about 5s relating to my core, I've just never really dove in very far to the 4w5. But once I did I could tell(as well as everyone in my life) that 4w5 described me more wholely. But I just had to get over the fact that I thought I was emotionless and realize that I avoid emotional situations intentionally bc I've have such strong feelings in the first place.(whod'a thunk it 🤔) lol.
@@Hephzibah624 but I gotta be honest, I am not 💯 either way. Being a 4w5 or 5w4 is almost the same person, as far as I can tell, besides the 5w4 coming acrossed more "bookwormish" and 4w5s being more interested in the arts. But this is just my conclusion. I'm sure everyone translates it in their own way. But these two types are very very hard to distinguish. At the end of the day you can be whoever you want and are an individual. But, for our types especially, the Eneagram is a great system to show us the reasons we've felt so different all our lives. We are not 👽 after all. 🤫

Thank you for this video. I have no doubt I am 5w4, it's way too clear. But I can never tell between INFJ and INFP. I was wondering if you could maybe talk about the different types of most common 5w4s (INxx), like how are INFJs 5w4 different from an INFP 5w4 for example.
It's actually very common for INFPs and INFJs to have a hard time figuring out which one they are...That is untill they learn more about the individual function stacks for each. Without that I would still be stuck without an answer....so I highly recommend watching videos or reading a bunch about the differences between Ni and Ne, Fi and Fe, Ti and Te, and Si vs. Se....then it should become quite clear. Keep in mind that learning your Myers Briggs type won't give you a difinitive answer for your enneagram type. (I am an INFJ but am also a 5w4). It's kind of hard for me to imagine an INFP as 5 though. Not saying it's impossible but just seems really unlikely to me.

But the functions are actually as reliable as the horoscope and just about any behavior, motivation or thought process can be explained away by any function combination. The truth is that there is exactly zero statiscally significant observable difference in the functions, EXCEPT when their difference correlates with the differences in the personality letters. So yeah, unfortunately I think the functions don't help much for complicated cases, only the most obvious easy ones. Yes indeed, there is extremely little written or talked about INFPs 5. I am still waiting for the video in this channel :D
@@gehdochnicht Where did you get this "truth" from? People observe these differences all of the time. It's how some people can accurately guess a person's personality type. I have accurately guessed the personality types of everyone in my FOO....based on the functions, and the functions made it perfectly clear to me that I was not and INFP

So yeah, anecdotally people might feel like it works, and it might even help them indeed. But the reality is that anything can be explained through multiple function combinations, like the horoscope.
Felt like I might be a 4w5, but yeah, 90% of this examples are straight up 5w4 for me. I never really cared for identity that much, cuz I just can’t imagine something that's not in fact unique or not worthy of dissecting, so why caring about identity? Having it is pretty limiting anyways. But I'm pretty scared of being incompetent, dumb or ignorant. I get myself exhausted by thinking about something for hours just cuz I feel anxious if I know I can't give an answer to some question. Really anxious. I thought I might be a 4 cuz I in fact analyze emotions, feelings, art etc a lot. It's my main source of interest. I want to know how people work, how I work, how society works, how words influence people, how can you manipulate human perception etc. Idk, it just seems like the most logical decision - humans see world through their specific perception, so you need to first understand this perception to understand the world. But I found out about tritypes and mine's a 548. The description says that this type "Craves to know what makes people tick", so I guess there's the reason.
Well umm.. Lol INFP and INTP are very different types. It isn't just a one letter variation. INFP cognitive functions are Fi-Ne-Si-Te INTP cognitive functions are Ti-Ne-Si-Fe INTPs can be 4w5. INFPs can be 5w4. I'm an INTJ 4w5. The human psyche is too complex to be placed into just one label. Its why we have so many different personality systems. I digress. Just because you're 4w5 doesn't mean you're definitely INFP. Look at your dominant cognitive function. Do you value Ti (subjective and inquisitive deductive reasoning) or Fi (subjective emotions about how you feel. Things either make you happy or sad and you judge things based off of that)? Look at your inferior function. Do you put no emphasis on Te (implementing you ideas in an efficient and quick manor) or Fe (saying things to others just for their own benefit to make them happy) Anyways, I hope you study the cognitive functions and find out the truth of you inner world.
You could still be a 4w5 intp. Also it comes down to a full understanding of the cognitive functions. Intp and infp are radically different in their processes. Definitely a misconception, if the belief is that all INFPs are 4s (however 4 is Fi led so would harmonize well with the type) and same for intps and 5s. ... Any ..many...Jungian/mbti type can be any enneagram code.
I’m a infj 5 sexual w 4.. but I must say that I have a lot of E4. I don’t cry to much but if I care about someone I feel very deeply, also I’m very picky or selective with the people I share my intimacy. I am popular because I have that magnetism of 4 but I let only few people come into my world. If I love you I give you my 100%. My whole life I was trying to find that perfect partner. All the love I didn’t receive as a child I was expecting to receive from my man but I ended in a toxic relationship with a narcissist, I think he didn’t destroy my spirit because I’m 5! Haha. I was very stubborn looking for answers about why this person act like this, something deep he is carrying from his childhood, let me find out what it is.. lol I learnt to control my emotions and automatically I can switch to my logical part when I feel I can be hurt.. Is a defense mechanism..

9 in 5w4 2 in 4w5 - the tabs & that I'm an INFJ 8 in unsure or both. I keep getting 5s in every test, if they have multiple its 5 followed by 4 in the 90%s & 9 in the 80%s Given how common it is for 9s to miss type as 5s it makes me really unsure. I am of both mind & heart in how I think, its difficult to separate the two. I get stuck in my head constantly. However seeing myself in other types is a very 9 thing & being an INFJ that's a gift I have when dealing with other people. So one more stepping stone towards nailing this down lol
I'm an INFP and got really close results 98% Type 4 and 97% Type 5. But reading on most articles, I relate to the Type 4's crave for identity and uniqueness the most. Although, I'm very scatter-brained whether or not I'm stressed. But if I have offended someone, I do tend to get stressed and clingy, when I should actually give them space instead.

Idk about giving people space instead of trying to communicate. That's what I do (giving people space, that is), and it tends to piss them off even more. Though, sometimes they come back to me and want to resume being friends after 2-3 years.

I'm an INTJ 4w5, and I am not mistyped of my mbti. I don't attract people in an Fe way, I find it difficult to take in other people's feelings like an INFJ, but I can dissect and empathize internally with them, but most of the times I have a rlly hard time thinking about how I can say things to make that person feel better. When I hang out with other INTJ 5 types, I come off to be more emotionally in tune with myself but I can go very deep into INTJ topics, whereas when I'm with INFJ's I find myself discussing and sharing my inner world, and they happen to share bits of theirs with me as well. U could say I'm somewhat of a mix of an INTJ, INFP and INFJ. I have a deep sense of empathy but I do not show it a lot. I usually like to solve problems and issues for someone I empathize with. I also channel out all my emotions through stories and I love writing characters inspired by the people I've met and learned about.
@@HighFiveFriend I mostly write fiction that has themes of Social Realism. I recently have started writing a psychological fantasy and it took a proper 2 years to refine the magic system. I really like to make magic systems that bring out the individual's characteristics more than define it for them in a closed way. The magic system happens to be a void which takes the shape of a person's memories and subconscious. Mostly displaying and discovering inner depth of characters, but through a systematized lens of predictable possibilities. I'm not sure but is it right to assume that I'm not an INFJ solely because of the fact that I prefer systems over external emotions?

This is not how wings are supposed to be used! They are not subtypes! I'm a 4, and because 3 and 5 are my wings - I will be able to relate to or have access to both because they are closest to me on the circle. Check out Beatrice Chestnut's Enneagram 2.0 podcast, especially the one on Wings. There is no such thing as a 4w5 or 5w4 - essentially you have both wings, having one wing is being stuck or boxed in... you can't fly with one wing.

Dilemma; I was predicted in somewhat under the postulated 4W5 with some speculated I've practising with 9w8 under the normal circumstances only I've being 4w5 if my Fe was vulnerable

@@HighFiveFriend I'm a bit new to Enneagram. So I read about 4w5s and 5w4s from thoughtcatalogs, enneagraminstitute and crystalknows websites. So, I think I'm a 4w5 as the motivations and fears of a 4w5 describe me toooo accurately. But at the same time, I am an INTP rather than an INFP because of my Ti. But I think 4w5s also use Ti according to the descriptions in these websites, as they want to understand the world, but have trouble doing things practically. So, maybe I'm a 4w5 INTP. What do you think? And thanks for taking out your time to answer me😃. And I'd also like to connect further. Do tell how to? Edit- I took the Enneagram test (a free one), and the test gave me the result 5w4 (Idk if Enneagram test is accurate or not, saying this because MBTI test is not accurate). And after further knowing about these types, I do think that I'm more of a five rather than a four. So, I've come to the conclusion that I maybe a 5w4, though I'm still confused.
Definitely a 5 😂 I was gifted a book about Buddhism for teens way back and it really helped because it made me feel better about not attaching to an identity or ego while I observed my school mates comically trying on their egos.
When you totally thought you were a 4w5 (459 tritype) and this video very clearly makes you a 5w4. I do think I value my 4 though quite a bit....I cry a lot and value photography, however I have a great balance between screenshots and photography haha Infj here as well. This makes sense with how I Ni-Ti loop easily. I tend to jump over my Fe at times. Side note, I am that person that loves to watch and read fantasy and sci Fi...yet will say "that doesn't make sense! That couldn't happen! There's a plot whole!" Wow, you really did a great job clarifying, and honestly, just bravo. Thanks ! Ps, I disagree with the mbti/Jungian statement. ...yes each enneagram number correlates well with different cognitive functions, it should be taken with a very tiny grain of salt. Im an isfj 4w5 but have a 5w4 behavior in some things. Can look like an istj. My mother is an istj and my father is an isfp. Ive taken after them both but moreso in my dads side possibly. Sometimes i see a bit of a 6 w5 and 6w7 (rarely) too. Humph. Lol

How am I a 4 Enneagram but an INTJ? How do I know if I am first and last and always as defined by the Sisters of Mercy? To the end of time. Maybe it is not so easy, maybe it is way too long, Say, say, "you'll be by me, when the evidence comes along." Maybe there is something more simple that says, "you are Christian", "You are Goth" "Yep still I seem like INTJ" When the Enneagram doesn't match, I still do a best fit to a 4w5.
I'm an INTJ 5w4, but I've tested as 4 on a lot of the tests I've taken. The ratio of 5:4 on these was about 3:1! The biggest thing that helped me nail down my type was seeing what I go to in stress and growth. One of my friends was super surprised to see me act like a very young type 7 one night when I was extremely tired and stressed.
Im in a pickle! I am, I think, maybe, sure I am a 5w4. I hate talking about my "deepest darkest" emotions, although I feel them sharply. The rest I talk about in a very very intellectual way. I truly feel like a 5w4 otherwise - competency, intellectualism, categorizing etc etc However, I have also done the Myers-Briggs test multiple times, always ending up as INFP. Now - I understand there are always exceptions - but there's a reason they are the exception, right? We know why some things correlate, and I find it difficult to find myself outside of that correlation. Anyone else out there struggling?

Also, I like the idea of being an INFP 5w4, because apparently that makes me a literal unicorn (in a lowkey sense) 😛 And I don't play overwatch these days. I have very fond memories, but playing blizzard games still feels a bit weird to me (though if you or anyone else enjoys it then I pass zero judgement and encourage doing what you enjoy).

im an INFJ but i relate more to 5w4 than 4w5. although, one of the main aspects of type 4 is identity, which I value a lot, but one of the main aspects of type 5 is being incompotence, which I relate too. in this video, I got the majority of type 5w4. i would also like to mention that I've been recently feeling a little like an INTJ, and after i watched this video, i googled "INFJ type 5w4" and they explained that some infj's tend to feel like intj's, so it makes a lot of sense :). -iNFJ, 5w4
I resonate mostly with 4w5, but my attachment and age have cultivated a space where I detach. I tend not to cry as often as in my childhood and adolescence. I save my tears for someone I trust, but I am sure it is still considered more emotional than 5w4.
I couldn’t answer some of the questions coz it really depends or both resonates :( I tried to answer and got 4w5 with one point difference.. Edit: I think I am a 4w5 bcs I truly value identity but when I am under stress my symptoms are 5's ;-;

I was in doubt about which one I was, so I raised my hands and raised my fingers to each thing I identified myself about each type, in the end I raised 2/3 fingers for 5w4 and 13 fingers for 4w5 kkkkkk thanks for the clarification ❤

did an online test, got equally dominant 4 and 5. listened to this video, yep - spot on in the middle. half of my answers match 4, the other half match 5. Moreover, it is in perfect sync with what i have always felt - i'm in the middle between heart and mind. They are equally dominant in me. maybe a sliver more 5w4 than 4w5, but really, not more than a sliver. oh yeah, INTP btw.

Anyways, my judging and perceiving is also split down the middle, but intuition is at 100% no doubt. I also have ADHD, was gifted as a child and have always felt duplicity with logic and chaos. I’m 4w5 self-preserved and I don’t know if it’s possible to be evenly between both traits or I would be just not digging enough, does anyone out there experience the same?

Hey, stop watching your macbook for script and just memorize it with 30 seconds divided parts. And just glance on it after few seconds by the end of parts and delete your glancing time with software it would be more enhanced.
That was great! I'm an infp and I'm not really sure if I'm 4 or 5. Cause i have both of these enneagram traits. But when i did the enneagram test it told me I'm 5 and i got this result twice. So does it mean that i can be 5?
Well pretty equal on both 😅 for a few I didint relate to either or it was pretty equal for both. The in stress and in growth clear 5w4 but Im an Infp and tend to go feelings first then does it make logical sense. I guess whichever I am I have a strong wing

I was pretty convinced that Im a 4w5 even for an Intp but Ive done a few enneagram test and I got Type 5 with wing 4.. for the 9000th time again im confused

It's interesting I was a 4w5 by nature until being taken advantage of so many times it has caused me to change and relate to being a 5w4. I'm an INFP as well.
