Liverpool were the best British team ever. I know Untied were good, but Liverpool had something special, a magic of sorts that few teams can emulate. Maybe Barcelona, but few others.
@@stephen-truthseeker until Heysel… you forget Liverpool got all European clubs banned. Then there was Everton in sixties. Look at your history mate. Liverpool were nobodies really until the seventies. If you know your history it’s enough to make your heart go ooo-ooo-oooo-o
Even as an Arsenal fan, I have to say that Liverpool team of the 1970’s and 80’s was the best club football team England has ever produced, their football was a joy to watch.
Score flattered Everton. Counter-attacking brilliance, centre-halves running riot up the pitch playing through balls. In an era dominated by muddy pitches and long ball, that was football from another planet.
king Kenny indeedits only when you watch these old games you realise what a genius footballer he was. Ian rush scores 4 and Kenny still man of the matchloving the clips of the crowd. 8,49 the kid with the Fila settanta
A master class in football brilliance. For me this was Liverpool's best ever team 81/82-82/83.A machine that devoured everything in its path.Awesome stuff..Best ever team England has ever seen.Amen.
Shame your supporters let your club down murders rip the juv 39 all ways have blood on your hands even if it is stained under the anilfield carpet but the football world knows your murdered 39 juv fans
@@zzzaaa0990 really. Zico was unstoppable and named man of the match. Souness was humiliated by Galinho de Quintino and didn't see the ball., It was an amazing lesson for red's Players, they did a terrible mistake underrating Flamengo team
I'm a Chelsea fan but this is the performance I always remember Liverpool for. Not withstanding they were playing against 10 men in the second half it could have been double figures.
I really do miss the football from that era. No frills, cheating, showboating or pointing to your own name on the back of your shirt. Just proper joy at scoring / winning
How has this video no comments? Remember the game very well but didn't remember that it could have been twelve! Feel privileged to have watched that Liverpool team week in and out. Credit to Everton, however ; they made a great recovery from that humiliation
What a great team Liverpool were in those days - they seemed to make it look so easy. Great players, too; Kenny Dalglish, Ian Rush, Graeme Sounness, Mark Lawrenson - to name but a few. Fabulous.
If you look closely, many of the Everton team went on to be in the champion winning side. Also, notice the linesman were on different parts of the ground compared to today.
I`m Utd but I can appreciate these old grounds, I liked a terraced Highbury as well, It was a fine sight packed and the only other English ground to match Old Trafford for capacity in the 1970s-80s, but they could never dream of matching Utds Attendances.
There is no mention of this game being at Anfeild, And to say the atmosphere at the Stretford end was "Shite" is a Ludicrous thing to say. Liverpool home Attendances in the early 80`s where frankly embarrassing.....
remember the match well, everton had defensive problems in the run up to the match, they borrowed glen keeley from blackburn, stange as it sounds.never played another game for everton after that horror showing.credit to the reds tho,the standard they set.
fun fact: that was Glenn Keeley's one and only appearance for the Toffees. He went straight back to Oldham (I think it was) never to reach the same dizzying heights. I remember him as a player for my club, Newcastle - he was a decent player.
Nothing to do with him. Producer, possibly Director or Floor Manager? Someone with more expertise would have to name the culprit. But there are several cameramen in numerous positions around the stadium. None of them get to choose when their shots are being broadcast or recorded.
Infelizmente já não se vê disto. Por toda a Europa o futebol perdeu o encanto. Está tudo descaracterizado graças à lei Bosman e aos clubes que foram vendidos aos multimilionários.
Ian rush ian rush iiiiaaannnn rush he gets the ball he scores a goal iiaaasn rush !!!! Poor old everton , always in the shadow of the Reds. Still are , and always will be 😊
