Please note: we had a power outage durning this service please ignore the awkward zoom at one point and join me in being grateful for the technology that allows us to rapidly shift and capture the parts and knit them back together when the unexpected happens. Rev. Lisa
“The Sea of the Soul: Creation and Change” will be our Sunday talk series in June. It builds on May’s series about symbols, myths, and metaphors. Water is among humankind’s earliest imaginative fields of play, along with sky. Most metaphysical philosophers liken bodies of water to the limitless subconscious-impressionable, powerful, and relentless in rising to its own level. This sheds a whole new light on how water appears in sacred scriptures, from tales of a global Deluge to water becoming wine to walking upon a sea. Though depicted as historical, outer events, these are actually timeless inner journeys into greater awareness.
Today Rev. Jesse is leaning into the Water metaphor while recalling the myth as stories that we tell ourselves from Joseph Campbell. He reminds us of the the unseen hands that help us and the stories that don't have to be factual to be true. He talks about the Trinity of Spirit, Soul and Body and how there is a huge reservoir of the Soul that is takes what we give it and is infinite in its giving to us. He also gives an assignment for the week.
We have two original poems from Dainill. Chak Love #4 HeartSong and the other is Spiritual Desires.
