My mom and dad used to tell me wonderful things about Reagan, and I've come to the conclusion if more republicans were like Reagan and more democrats were like JFK I think the country would be a better place
David, JFK would be running as a Republican today. He was devoutly religious, war hero, against too much welfare, he did sign the Civil Rights act absolutely, but 50 years later, the leftists would be like: What have ya done lately Jack? The Democrats back then weren't the democrats they are today. They've gone over the top radical and down the hill of hypocrisy.
+T. van rossum Pinochet did the right thing, wipe out the Communists who do not believe in ptivate property. Imo, communists should be lined up and shot. During the 1940's, they were sent to the electric chair
he didn't help anyone with aid's or anyone living in poverty what a piece of crap[ man he was so cruel and heartless bastard it's disgusting what he did to america.
Reagan didn't waste tax payer money on liberal democrat programs like aids awareness and drug awarness. It's not the responsibility of people who chose to do right to pay for programs for those who don't. You may think Reagan is ignorant but most people don't so your opinion doesn't matter.
Christopher Bryant you're right on my man. It's time these stupid ass liberals took some responsibility for their own dumbass mistakes and stop expecting the government to bale them out with taxpayer's money. It's not republicans fault that democrats are retarded
@@rickjames9522 The dog represents the citizen, the bark is the right to participate in an open market, and the meat is goods or sustenance. In America, you have the right to seek to attain goods and sustenance by your own means. In Poland (then under Soviet rule) you had no idea what sustenance was. And in the USSR, you had no idea what an open market was.
@@nosir1479 C'mon pal. I am not that old to remember Teddy ;) The very first POTUS I've seen on TV was Gerald Ford. But thanx for your opinion, I'll try to find some more information about Teddy.
I was just reading a little bit about Reagan. I look at what he did, and said, and what he stood for. Then I looked at today's society.Oh, how we have declined. I wasn't even alive when Reagan was president, yet I still wish we had leadership like him.It saddens me how far we've fallen as a society and as a nation since this man was president.
+John C Yes he was great. I especially liked it when he got tough with Congress by allowing the Nicaraguan death squads to flood American cities with cocaine to fund their war, a small price to pay in fighting the Evil Empire. And then when he illegally sold anti-aircraft missiles to Iran, and gave the profits to the death squads, that showed real leadership, he could not be stopped by silly laws or the U.S. Constitution.
***** no it started in about the 30s it just keeps getting worse regans was OK john wasnt terrible but in reality no Bernie no Ben is going help us this country is fucked until we get out of this socialist crap til we tell people they have been screwed. Get the bastards in jail for fucking this beautiful country up
Pete Zereeah why for ignoring aids selling missiles to iran running up three trillion in debt. cutting social programs you obviously are ignorant and dont know that that is what he did. you are an idiot for thinking he should be on mount rushmore his record was horrible
Andrew Heydt Son, I'll try to help you when most won't...here's my free advice- try to enter a discourse without being the first to resort to name calling. You can do what you want, but people will listen to you when you have a point.
Andrew Heydt Well, you didn't say how he "sucked," but you are making progress. You didn't scream "FACT!" and you didn't tell me to kill myself. My hat is off.
he sucked because he ran up 2.8 trillion in debt deregulated the savings and loan industry causing its collapse ignored the aids crisis while tens of thousands died. sold missiles to iran and cut important social programs which hurt poor and handicapped people. can it get any worse than that record.
Yvonne Vu :Except for the fact that Reagan created the Martin Luther King holiday. That wasn't very White of him. And I'm not calling him "Dr.", because he plagiarized his dissertation. All his handlers were Jews. And if you are black, how do you feel about the fact that the NAACP has always been led by a Jews, and not by blacks? Isn't that like Jews telling blacks they aren't smart enough to lead their own organizations? Isn't that an insult of sorts? No. As a White American I have more respect for Malcolm X, and oldsters like Marcus Garvey. They were real man. King was a fraud. I also don't like the global capitalism that Reagan espoused. I stand for the European Socialist model of government. Reagan was a rich asshole. Fuck him.
+Leon Williamson yes you do, this is coming from a middle eastern guy who worked his ass off to come to America to join a western society only to witness that it is almost destroyed within inside, I decided to move to Germany to get some culture and now these islamist immigrants are infesting there too! God where am I supposed to go to feel like a western country? now I know I have to stay and fight, a lot of other immigrants think I am racist but i am not and neither are you, I am simply pro culture, western culture ans societies are under severe attack by cultural immigration greed and radical feminism(in my opinion) and we have to fight to get it back we have to start some where
As a minority and a poor person, I am reminded of how blessed I was when President Reagan, was the commander and chief. I felt proud to be an American. I was able to get a job and serve my city. Within those 8 short years I married had a child and supported my family. I was even able to buy a new car. Those were the best years of my life. Thank you Ronnie, and where are you now? We need you now more than ever. The country is unrecognizable and the world thinks we are chumps. Ronnie we gave up our freedom for security cameras, monitoring our phones, reading our email, and having our physical being searched and probed. There's no one to trust , our freedom has been compromised, and we can't speak.
I really loved this man. No one is perfect but he really cared about and loved our country. He was genuine and he made you feel like he was one of the regular people of the country. You just felt like he was on the same level as you and you could feel the sincerity in his words and actions. He loved this country and always did what he thought was best for the nation as a whole, not just for the elitists, like you see our current POTUS doing. This is the type of leader we need again. God bless you sir, you are missed tremendously.
DID you know the Ron embodies the American soul? loser that he is. Why are they so stupid and arrogant? European kuture is far superior in every respect from mill, marx to shakespeare and mozart. Gangsta tho'. Who brought in gangsta rap anyhow, reagan and bush cos thats how it works. They are crap at wars, yet love them. Their Reaganauts think money and power.....................................................
I like him a lot. I like how whenever he spoke, he'd always pause instead of going 'er' or 'um'. He was very reassuring. I, a Brit, know nothing of American politics but I think that doesn't always matter; I would have trusted him as leader of my country.
+Olly Jones - I was a teenager through the Reagan era. It was an awesome time to be an American. Not only because the economy started booming...but also because "patriotism" was prevalent, and U.S. citizens were much more united.
+Doc Holliday Really? That's amazing, it's great to hear someone's first hand experience of living under a President or other national leader. I remember asking my mum to tell me what life under the Blair and Thatcher governments were like, and her being exasperated 😂 thank you for that insight. I gather Ronald Reagan is well respected, and rightly so, I think :)
Olly Jones- I remember my first exposure to Reagan. I was about 10 years old. I remember seeing on the news, minutes after Reagan was sworn in as President of the U.S., Iran released the American hostages they were holding. I asked my Mom, "did Ronald Reagan free our people?" my mom's eyes teared up, and she said, "yes..because he's our new President, Iran let our people go." I was old enough to understand, our people were freed because our new President commanded respect. Believe me, I could go on and on, yapping about how great a man, and President Reagan was. LOL We sure could use another one like him too.
+Olly Jones I was a teenager when Reagan was elected. He was awesome. You knew he cared about running the government for ALL PEOPLE. Thatcher was his equal. She was a remarkable woman. Over the years, the US education system (liberal democrats) slowly chip away at the Reagan legacy and change history.. It seems the same in England with Thatcher (from a US perspective). Ignore what people tell you and watch real live video of Reagan/thatcher here on youtube and judge for yourself.
DAD fandango There you go again. If either of you were around when Ronnie took office after the disastrous Carter years, you'd understand why this couple was as revered as they were.
The perfect decade was the 1870s, the new German Empire had just been formed, and the monarchies of old still controlled their glorious nations. I wish we could just go back to those days for an hour...
Jim Law in 1980. One in 4 people lived in absolute poverty... less than a buck a day. Now its one in 20. In 1980 the 200 million peoplw of eastern europe lived under the tyrannical grip of socialism, now (thanks to Reagans efforts) they have been blessed with freedom, democracy and the light of Americanism. America was a far more intolerant place back in 1980, today gay marriage is legal, weve had a black president (although he sucked he was a figurehead for American peoples tolerance). We move forwards as we have, as we are and as we forever will.
One day, a wealthy family man took his son on a trip to the country so he could have his son see how poor country people were. They stayed one day and one night at the farm of a very humble farm family. When they got back home the father asked the son, "What did you think of the trip"? The son replied, "Very nice Dad." Dad said, "Did you notice how poor they were?" "Yes". "So, what did you learn from this trip?" "I've learned that we have one dog in the house, and they had four. We have a fountain and imported lamps in our garden, they have a stream with no end and the stars in the sky. Our garden goes to the edge of our property, they have the entire horizon as their back yard." At the end of the son's reply the father was speechless and then his son said, "Thank you Dad, for showing me how poor we really are."
+BigGreat Cubs Uhm, he is actually more of the opposite of Ronald Reagan. Why do republicans vote for him? Why not someone more serious, especially when Russia is going rouge.
I'm British and being a student in 79 was politically active. Funny how we never got to see the humorous more human side of him in the media over here. No internet of course, only mainstream media ie BBC and their left wing agenda. Sad really.
They are still not showing the truth in the Mainstream media bbc. My aunt lives in UK and they never show the funny side of our potus or the good things he’s doing. Like he just signed save the seas act to work on stopping trash being dumped in our oceans by many especially Asia. But I bet u didn’t hear about that.
i know the feeling, my state has a massive bias to the point that I'm convinced that if Jesus and Buddha ran for office for the opposition party that my local media would be complaining about the two dirty hippies wasting everyones time.
good riddance im glad he had alzheimers he deserved it i hope hes burning in hell for the pain and suffering he caused so extremely despicable of a man. you are an idiot for respecting him.
fuck you you dont know the facts it was reaganomics that nearly tripled the debt he didn't reduce the poverty rate at all you idiot and he didnt end the cold war thats bullshit. he cut social programs sold missiles to iran and caused the collapse of the savings and loan industry by deregulating it. despite these enormous failures of policies that caused an enormous amount of damage he was still worshipped by idiots like you.
Michael Anthony :Wrong. JFK beats him. He had a sense of social justice and high culture. Reagan was a predatory capitalist pig interfering with free elections in South American countries that wanted to have social justice (socialism). Reagan invaded sovereign nations in Central and South America all throughout the 80's with his criminal CIA; illegally overthrowing sovereign nations. He was a rich piece of human garbage and I wipe my ass with The Stars And Stripes and throw the shit on his dead rotting corpse.
If George Washington is the father of our country, Ronald Reagan was the grandfather. Always telling jokes, telling funny stories, I'm surprised he never asked Gorbechev to pull his finger. I'll always think fondly of the Reagan era.
He was reassuring . He was reminiscent to certain people of a day when people had more character and integrity than today . He was used by the dark side . The best front man ever . God bless his soul .
+campos302 Bullshit, Reagan was a neo-con of the highest order, within the ranks of the "New World Order, a scumbag that started Us into deep debt & 125 Investigations on his cronies, after he left office. All of them were scumbags, only John F. Kennedy was the great president, that didn't want to send America men to die in Vietnam, among other great deeds.....Reagan did' not do shit while in Office
Reagan had that "Americanism" that no one in politics has anymore. Chris Christie shows glimmers of it. But that old, post-War era nationalist humor, charm, and class is largely lost. I miss Reagan and what he embodied.
Christy shows the charisma, but not the policy.. He would sooner grow the government than decrease it, and what made reagan was not his humor, but the fact that he was the only president in a century that's main goal was to decrease his, and the future presidents power.. He only slowed down what is inevitable, tyranny. But he was fucking funny right?
@@prussianmonarchist7110 Clinton got us a $128B surplus after coming in after Bush put us trillions in debt. He made stuff far more affordable for the lower class after 12 years of Republicans. And Obama legalized gay marriage, pulled us out of the 2nd biggest recession in American history, and in case you forgot, was instrumental in the assassination of Osama Bin Laden. And unlike Trump, he wasnt golfing during it. Saying Reagan is better than Pres. Obama and Clinton is almost as funny as Reagans Soviet jokes.
I miss this man immensely. He was my President, and my Commander in Chief from 81/84 will in the Navy. We all held him in the highest regard and loved him like no other. I was so very fortunate to have served under his great leadership. You are missed even now my beloved President, Now more then ever.
You are very welcome my friend. Thank you also for your service. I'm sure your like me, a lot of great memories. Got to visit a lot of places I would have never been able to had I not been in the Navy.
+Milli Vanilli THEN IT IS SETTLED AND WE'LL USE KIM JONG EUN AS A SACRIFICE yea? Or someone worthy because we need to get rid of Kim but we could also use someone worthy but that'd take away someone awesome so let's stick with Kim Hillary
+F. Friedrich Kling-Hauss Every German agreed with President Reagn. It was the extreme left-liberals, who hates Germany and any good thing in the world, that expressed hate for the president. These people tried to kill and to murder, and you are a fellow traveller of them. "Nie wieder Deutschland", that is your way, so you are no German, but an anti-german hate creature.
There is more to being a president that simply running a nation. It is about LEADING a nation. Inspiring. Actions are loud, but works that inspire a whole nation to DO those actions are even louder. Great man. A man's man. A true American.
I love this man. I wish I was alive when he was our President. I just missed him by a year. This man was the best leader this country had in a long, long time. Not only intelligent, but kind and genuinely concerned about the citizens.
+Bald Headed Mudaphukka no no no no all wrong a Trump doesn't not have any Political experience what so ever and Trump is over privileged and doesn't know the struggle of the lower class citizens of the United States, Trump bullied all the other candidates off of the GOP Nominee Train he does not belong in the seat of the 45th president, I am super tired of seeing Pro-Trump propaganda in videos with Reagan in it
Golden Productions look all this is looking like bernie propaganda, the way of helping them is by giving them jobs, not raise the minimum wage, WE WILL HAVE NO JOBS LEFT!
Reagan was NOT that great man.. he was a step in the right direction.. but if we were to say the 'true leader' thats just lying.. He created Al Queda, he was borderline treasonous with the contra scandal..
Tom Dalton HEY JACK ASS WE HAD NO BUISNESS IN LEBANON AND HE KNEW IT THATS WHY WE GOT THE FUCK OUT ,,,,,,HAD WE STAYED THERE THOUSANDS MORE WOULD HAVE DIED,,,,,,,WERE LUCKY THATS ALL WE LOST ,,,NOW LOOK AT BUSHS MESS IN IRAQ THOUSANDS ARE DEAD BECAUSE WE INVADED ANOTHER COUNTRY,,,WE PICK ON THESE SMALL COUNTRYS TRY CHINA OR RUSSIA ,,SEE WHAT HAPPENS BOTTOM LINE IS STAY THE FUCK OUT OF OTHER PEOPLES COUNTRIES ISREAL WILL PAY A PRICE SOON,,,,
reagan ran up 2.8 trillion in debt deregulated the savings and loan industry causing it to collapse. cut funding from wic medicaid and other programs for poor and disabled people. ignored the aids crisis and sold missiles to iran. that is his real record what a disgrace.
Andrew Heydt I guess you weren't alive when Jimmy Carter preceded Reagan? The damage had been done and it took some time to right the ship, which he eventually did.
Who's the better alternative? Hillary who committed treason against this country? Gary who doesn't even share the principles of his party and lets his anger get the best of him to the point he cant even get his point across anymore? Bernie who's just Hillary's puppet and uses his supporters' moneys to buy houses for himself? Just do everyone a favor and stay home on election day because according to you, Trump is a bad person because of the words that people say about him, even though at the time of Reagan was considered a bad president because he did what he had to do during his presidency and he was called all the names in the books at the time.
Reagan would spin in his grave if he knew that our next president is a Russian puppet that appoints corporate CEOs to his cabinet even though he ran on a anti-establishment message. He gave Hillary Clinton shit for holding a speech for Goldman Sachs and now he has two Goldman Sachs guys in his cabinet. He blamed Clinton for being to close to big money interests and then makes the fucking CEO of Exxon Mobil his Secretary Of State. All he did was lie to his supporters. Just listen to the things he said a few months ago and the things he does now. Disgraceful. Claims he is pro labor, pro workers. Makes anti-labor guy his Secretary of Labor and attacks unions. Every single appointment he made so far is absolutely terrible, except for his Secretary Of Defense.
He was great for his time, exactly what we needed back then. But he wouldn't roll over to well today; he wasn't that great with the economics side of things. Don't get me wrong, I'm a full blown libertarian. But he just wouldn't serve as well today as he did back then.
Raptorman0205 If you're a libertarian...you might want to read some Ayn Rand...I consider myself a conservative with many libertarian ideals...I truly believe in, "Life, Liberty and the (Pursuit) of happiness"...not raising taxes, for a handout, because you dropped out of school...not pressing 1 for English and 2 for Spanish and not for opening our borders unchecked...A person's income should go to supporting his own family before anyone else's, unless he donated to charity.
kempoguy Mhm. I mean, truthfully, TRUE libertarianism is essentially anarchy, but i do believe that the government basically has no role in anything outside that which is listed in the preamble. That's what our founding fathers truly wished for this country; A lot of what is listed in the rest of the constitution itself was actually written to get the other states to sign. For example, that's the reason slavery wasn't addressed; so that the southern states would sign.
One of my biggest regrets in life is not having voted for President Reagan EITHER time he was elected. It wasn't until 1987 that I realized he was the greatest President of my lifetime. Thank you President Reagan for the unprecedented and still unequaled economic expansion, the tax reductions, your help in destroying the Evil Empire and most of all for helping revive the American Dream and love of country many of us had begin to lose under Carter, his inane foreign policy, economic policy and resulting stagflation. THANKS FOR POSTING THIS!!!!!!!!
Why thank you for your ad hominem attack and your cursing. Your words speak volumes. Thank you President Reagan for temporarily restoring the America I loved. I'm glad you're not around to see how debased she has become.
He expanded the bubble economy, which in his thinking would allow him and those who came after him to actually fix the economy. Unfortunately it didn't work out, and our bubble is bigger than ever (thanks to the Bush family, Clinton tried to help but was met with bullshit scandals and Congressional resistance) with our debt ridiculously high (thanks to the Bush family and President Obama) and our spending astronomical (thanks Congress). No doubt that bubble will pop soon and we'll be facing a massive economic downturn.
Reagan was a nice old fashioned President, took time to think things through. He also knew, an economy can't be healed overnight. The biggest mistake Obama has made, is trying to patch the economy, with slogans and defensive dividing speech. We need a good old fashioned President, someone who can do things, without dividing the country into warring camps.
+Josh Wood All the problems America is suffering from today, were started by Reagan. Personally, if you want another Reagan, I say great! America is a shit hole anyway, so let some new Reagan come along and give the toilet one final flush.
EmperorTaebok omg.... i am speechless that u think that all problems america has are from reagan. Did you just spit ball that off the top of your thick head? :') wtf
***** when you start spelling "Reagan" correctly then i might respect you. Republicans believe in capitalism which builds the economy dumb ass. Look at china their economy is capitalism and its booming, then there social side is communism and its terrible. no humans right. give your head a shake you weak minded left leaning sheep.
BahamaBlue123 I know and I appologize. I was directing the comment towards the person you replied to. I hope I didn't offend you, as I have apparently done so to many conservatives.
Unmistakably, one of the greatest president we have ever had. He lowered the taxes and brought so much enthusiasm. Improved dramatically the economy. Strengthen the military, and using the "star wars" bankrupted the evil empire and finished the communism. Yet, his greatness was that we was a true father to the nation.
we had aids which reagan ignored three trillion in debt that reagan created iran contra that reagan created and millions of americans falling further into poverty because of reagans cuts in social spending why would you like that you fucking idiot
well NOW you piece of crap we still have aids we have even more a deficit and your boyfriend obama wants to entertain the thought of iran having nukes at least there was a true American spirit back then
we have more debt because of the bullshit wars that democrats and republicans supported under george w because of tax cuts for the rich the deregulation that caused the collapse of the financial industry which cost a ton of money to bail out both democrats and republicans allowed.
You could look at the deregulation factor as to the collapse but think about it ...if you're bringing in a certain amount and you apply/ get loans for stuff that you're annual salary can't cover then you're up the creek does it take the government to tell you you can't borrow more money than you have via regulation? The dollar is debt it should be named the debtor ... Did someone attack us in 2001??
I wasn't around when Reagan was president but boy was he the greatest U.S. President ever 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 wish he was still around rn 😢 God bless him and God bless our current president Donald Trump 🙏🇺🇸
rd711 ehh, he kicked up the Anti drug sentiment with mass incarceration( giving us problems vision 2.0), started the de regulation train which contributed to the 2008 crash(although I blame Bill Clinton more for this cause he took that idea and put it on steroids with repealing glass steagal), he put our debt into the trillion mark, and under his administration we gave weapons to the muja hadin which created a long ticking time bomb that eventually gave the world Alqeuida and 9/11 ( I understand why people in his administration thought this was a good idea but ended up being one of the text book examples of why not to give weapons to rebels). Probably the worst thing he did was appointed Alan Greenspan to the head of the Federal Reserve, and either through incompetence or negligence didn't respond to the buildup of the sub prime mortgage crisis when other experts at the time told people this was an obvious ticking time bomb. I'm not trying to dance on Reagans grave, I think he meant well with his policies aimed at defeating the USSR, a state that almost brought nuclear war upon the world, for wanting the truly red tape regulation to go away. Sad truth is he was a great comedian and aurator but not s good policy president, in my mind he's a better version of Bush 43
As a Democrat, Reagen was truly one of a kind. While it is hard to ignore some things that I believe he didn’t really do well, he was a genuine, nice guy.
He was a good president. He did a lot of important things. Trickle down economics doesn't work, however Greenspan proved this. It underestimates the power of human greed. Of course many men of integrity would have trouble understanding this. He wasn't a perfect President, but was the right man at the right time.
That's the correct statement. If it wasn't for him we'd still all be driving 55 mph. He tried and was great at foreign policy. Not everything he did ended up working but you'll never find out what works if you don't try.
