I've heard the dual 8" version of that enclosure in a car and it gets rowdy! Definitely worth the money. 134 dB is actually VERY good for a couple 6.5" subwoofers. The right enclosure with the right power will do that. For decent bass in a tight space, these are great.
that would be an immense upgrade in terms of sound and bass. I recommend the Skar 6.5’ subs, they’re cheap and hit hard as a 1950’s husband. I’m rocking 2 right now
I'm rocking tow 6.5 ct sounds tropo in a big ported box around 38hz ish tune, they pound on a ct at500.1d amp 500watts @1 ohm in my odyssey! Can't imagine what the meso's would sound like! I wanted those but didn't want to upgrade my power so I went with 500 and pretty happy I did, amp came with a distortion light on the base knob and I set it with a multimeter to 22v then barely rolled it back from that and I never see that light but the sound is nuts, it's like a set of 10's to me, gets super low and the highs ain't bad either
That extra 2 inches doesn't fit in most stock trucks, not even under the seat. A lot of aftermarket brackets are coming out for raising up the rear truck seats 2" for this very reason, but some people don't want to do that either. If all they want is some thump, the 6.5's get the job done. They just should refrain from trying to brag about a couple of 6.5's, doing the whole SPL thing is pointless.
What SPL is typical for bigger subs? 8's 10's 12's etc in similar car and similar distance from the mic? Saying that's good for 6.5's doesn't tell us enough. How does it compare to bigger subs?
Hey josh! love the info in this vid man. Looking to plan out a build for my 2010 corolla. I mainly listen to dubstep, some trap, and rock. How would I figure out what’s best for me as far as subs. I know it depends. I was looking at the JL 10W7AE-3 but then theres american bass that slaps with one 12. theres these mojos. Idk yet man.
Determining what sub or subs to buy depends on several factors. 1. How loud do you want it to be? 2. How much room can you spare? 3. How much can you spend? 4. How far do you want to upgrade your vehicle's electrical; upgraded battery, extra battery, alternator, etc. I hope this helps!
Damn I really want a single 6-1/2 with a box that's about 8*8*15" od to lay between on the rear seats like an armrest. I'm looking for quality not quantity. Am I wasting my time with6-1/2s??
I had a single mojo 6.5 2ohm on a mono block 400rms amp. I wasn’t impressed and after breaking it in, it blew under half its rated power. I was very bummed considering it’s a nice looking sub 80oz driver. Personally I’d go with an 8 in setup, look at DD Audio they’re American Made in NC they are about 100 dollars more than the mojos but you won’t be let down.
You don't gain squat in quality by going with smaller subs. All these people saying smaller subs are more accurate, faster, hit harder, tighter are full of dung. Smaller subs have to move further in and out to create the same level of sound a larger sub does, therefore simple physics says it's neither tighter or more accurate. Also, the more a speaker a moves the more distortion can be created so how can they better quality? 6.5's get the job done when all you want is a little more thump, just don't go around trying to brag about how great a 6.5 is.
If you don't want to sacrifice space or don't have the space they are ok but very pricey, if you have the space or are a bass head, DO NOT get this, I gave my mojos away to a cousin the same day I got them and back to a single 15 enclosure using all my cargo space in my Tahoe.
interesting with such a small cone/surround area that these do much of anything at all.. i mean after all, it's the movement of the air off the cone (sealed) or from the port that gives us SPL, right? so if a 12" woofer has a surface area of 113 inches, and TWO 6" woofers only have a surface area of 56" - how in the hell are 2 sixers almost as loud as a 12" ??
They can't because they are running a 1000+ amp to that set of 6.5 700 watts. So they would have to install new wires that would handle that current and power.
Hi I'm very fun of your channel and I think your doing amazing job to inform people but my question is what would be a perfect a head unit for my Mistubish 2018 outlander and I don't care about the price just fastest, the good quality for watching a Netflix and RU-vid and I'm using android phone and i do have a 4 cameras, sit hitting, steering wheel hitting, and cruise control, and voice commands on the wheel thanks.
