What a helpful and instructive video! One thing I’ll never understand is keeping the litter box in the kitchen or dining area! I used to put the box in the guest bathtub as no one used it. If I had guests, it was easy enough to move the box and clean the tub. ❤
Hi, nice videos, thank you! For more cat entertainment I distribute single pieces of dry cat food in several spots in my apartment like low shelfs, skirting boards - so the cat has a nice job to do when collecting it...
I bought a narrow cat tree that spring-loads into the ceiling. I encouraged my cat to climb it because she’s a scaredy cat and would usually just hide. Now she has another “level” to explore in my small flat which hopefully makes her day more interesting.
Great tips. I love the feeding station, that's always something I've struggled with. Especially with two cats who need to be fed separately. Might have to get a cute cube shelf just like that.
Thank you once again, Gina! The feeding station was really good decision for us. We have everything in one place and it's much less mess. Please, stroke your cats from me! 🐈 🐈
l like the food and water up, at least a bit, from the floor because it helps for dust not to be kicked into the bowls. Although l clean the water 2x per day, it's still easy for dust to get in.
Thank you for this video, your cat is precious!! I too find myself chasing the balls alone sometimes too! hahaha Finally, when I find missing balls during cleaning it is such a great feeling.
Your cat space is well organised and looks like it will suit his needs. Our cat normally is active and loves our small garden. But recently she hasn't been well and will need to visit the vet tomorrow.
Hi thank you Paige for being such a responsible mom. Keeping our precious ones from wandering the streets where they can be hurt by things, people & other animals should be our utmost concern. You are a wonderful mom!
I just got a cat about a month ago. These are some great ideas. My cat likes to try to tear up any plants I leave within her reach unfortunately and I love plants. I’ve had to hang most of them. I’m hoping she becomes less interested as she gets older. She is still in the kitten stage. I also got a litter box with a top on it. Definitely helps with odor.
Hi. Covering a box is more for the human than the kitty. It’s more like “I can ignore the dirty liter box”. Not a tip I would offer my future cat owners since I bottle feed kittens, socialize ferals & find forever homes for my fosters. I would not recommend this. I recommend putting litter boxes in the bedroom. Kitties deserve clean litter boxes as we like to use clean toilet bowls.
I am soon downsizing to a one level condo- my poor cat who had access to outside will no longer be able to. I am planning to adopt a same age cat companion for him, and along with these ideas for cat scratcher, I have hope! Love your ideas. Thank you!
Your kitty is so cute. My Rascal cat use to chase after a small foam ball then he would bring the ball to me to throw again. Rascal loved playing fetch.
Thank you, Elisabeth! Yes, she’s absolutely adorable. Those little fluffy things can bring a lot of joy! What happened to your Rascal cat? You said “use to”...
My Rascal boy died many years ago. He was 11 years old. Our cat now is Daphne who had a 13th Birthday on October 31, 2021. Daphne is also on RU-vid channel as Daphne Weather Cat on Elizabeth Brundage Media Journalist . We live in Westminster, Colorado USA.
I noticed my cat will play fetch, actually returning the heavy plastic ring back to me, when we’re in a small space, like my bedroom. Otherwise, like you, I end up chasing after the toy, and throwing it again. Kitchen to living room (and back), he’ll chase it, but that’s it. Also, your cat may not be a tree dweller, but rather a beach dweller. (See Jackson Galaxy’s book “Catification” to explain the terms.) Mine is mainly a tree dweller, preferring to be on higher surfaces, like our mantle, his cat tree, tables, and counters. I’m downsizing, and looking for higher surfaces for him that are functional (for me) and safe (for him).
I love cats...my hubby does not...but really he does not like cleaning out cat box.. So I am thinking of getting a cat but thinking is all for the moment.. great ideas thanks..
dinifroggy, thank you, it works really well for us and for our cat! The toy you're asking is called Infinity, we got it years ago and I am not sure whether is still produced. But here is something similar for orientation what I found on Amazon: www.amazon.de/dp/B08Q7CCZR1/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_i_9VG302TBKRZAZP2YHKVB
I have 2 cats 😍😍😍😍😍😍, I would love to know where you bought your cat litter bin? And what kind of mat you use outside the litter box, I need to get a solution that works well, our cats keep tracking litter into our kitchen 🙄, their litter box is in the adjacent laundry, it's a great place for it, we can open a window and it has tiled floors, but it still gets into the rest of the house 🤦
Hi Ana, I got those items in the local pet shop, but you might want to look for it in internet. Litter locker: www.amazon.com/LitterLocker-Hygenic-Soiled-Litter-Disposal/dp/B004EEN5BE/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 Mat: www.fressnapf.de/p/anione-toilettenvorleger-37x45cm-1241959/ I don’t know though, whether they are shipping to your country.
You could also try putting a rug ( a bathmat or rag rug would work) right in the door way to the laundry room. Kitty has to step over it to exit the room. Works perfectly for my cat!
Hi Mechelle, if you are living in Germany, the cat toy: www.meintierdiscount.de/Katzen-Karlie-Katzenspielzeug-Infinity,34917,298p.htm?i=0 Not sure whether they are shipping to your country.
We are living also on the second floor and our Katze never showed any interest for jumping off of the balcony The thing is that even though cats are pretty good jumpers, they are not jumping off of the balcony without a reason. Did she ever tried to jump?
Jolita Bartkus he is not the smartest cat. If he sees a paper on the table he thinks it a solid place to jump even though it is on the edge of the table. What we are doing now is balcony with a long leash 😊 love your utube!!!!!
I am not sure whether egsist something like this for the balconies, but something spinning on top might prevent your cat from jumping. And of course then is also matter to cover the gaps between the railings if you have it. I found very short video, which illustrates the spinning rod on the top of the fence. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-OYfpa1mV1pI.html
Usually they do and we got very cute fountain with filter which, unfortunately our cat completely ignored. Don't remember anymore for how long we've been trying to atract her with no result.
@a.c.1436, no, she’s does not. Our cat loved jumping on the door top when she was young and slim, haha! but we had never success introducing her to the cat trees. Every cat is different. 🤷♀️
Hi ..how do you stop her from jumping up on the rails in the patio ? My beautiful Sally is always jumping up out of our bedroom window onto the roof and then down onto the road .
Hi Rosemarie, our cat never showed an interest to jump down, probably we are living too high. There are some spinning rails what you can put on top of fence. It doesn't let the cat to climb on the top of the fence. Maybe something like that exists also for the balcony? Another way is to put the net, but an esthetics are on the lower side.
@@JolitaBartkus Thank you for your response and tips ...you have a beautifully organised home . All good wishes for Christmas and may 2021 be a brighter year .
