Hi folks,
I recently performed a major overhaul on my robot Otto. It is now powered by KesslerCrane hardware and tracking with Unreal engine to create a badass virtual production stage!
Big thank you to Eric and the KesslerCrane crew!
This video may be sponsored, but my opinions never are. :)

how tf do you only have 1.17K subscribers? Amazing stuff, I am truly impressed with the technicals, and how they lead to the creative creations. Kudos from me, at every level.

Kudos on S.A.R.A. As AGDU's mom I'm definitely impressed with the acronym! Really cool build and setup, nice work Christopher! Really liked this video, shed a lot of light on how involved you get with all the things. Remember all us little people on the way to the top with SARA!

Awesome stuff, so many possibilities. Out of curiosity, what software were you using to control Otto's motors?
@chrisfield7008

Dragonframe

That is so cool! So you're using the mechanical components for the Z axis from Otto? I was hoping to see a KC option there but that one you have looks very solid. Excited to get my hands on the PowerBlok!

Yeah they shipped me a motor, you see it at the 9:48. Right before that you see the old lift motor

man oh man right on the money thank you - links to Kessler would be good more specifically what you used what is custom - watching you so I would not konw about this I'd think super $$$ typical Motion control.

Great video!!! So it may be implied but to clarify, you’re using a second shooter somewhere in there to control the new bloks and kOS to control SARA? Thanks!
@BiolapseStudios
@BiolapseStudios Год назад
Yes. You can use a connector between the CS and SSplus or Pro, and control it all as an 8 axis system in Kos. You can also connect with dragonframe if you need those extra capabilities.

Do you still shoot with Axibo, still like it or not? )) how is it compare to Kessler, well of course Kessler is a bit different rig but just if compare the same axis features, thats' what I mean

Yeah I have 2 axibo kits doing VP. They are pretty solid systems. I have a few gripes but those are minor.
@LaurentFranchet

Why do you need a Vive tracker? Shouldn't the motion control software directly be able to output the camera position and rotation to the Unreal Engine in real-time via a Livelink plugin?
@chrisfield7008
@chrisfield7008 8 месяцев назад
A the time of video, even now to my knowledge, axibo is the only kit that supports livelink, however. Couple of the companies are working on it however.
@LaurentFranchet

@@chrisfield7008 let’s hope that more moco systems get compatible with unreal engine and Livelink. I would be very eager to test Axibo indeed

Heya! - Just discovered you vi The Algorithm 🙂 Very impressed. Building stuff gives you much more insight and understanding than just buying it. You'll know how to use it better and be able to extend it more easily.
