Great review. But no way would I skip the Highline trail. It's absolutely amazing hiking the ledge on the Garden wall. Greatest view almost anywhere. Little busy though.
Glacier has to be one of the most spectacular locations in the US. We didn't get a chance to explore all these hikes when we were there, but our favorite was definitely the Highline trail. A little under 12 miles with just panoramic views along the mountainside. Even our 11 and 14 year old were so excited about it that they were able to finish the whole thing. Thanks for the ideas on future hikes!
Absolutely, mind blowing how this was all cut out by glaciers. I heard so much about the highline and we tried to fit it in. I think we also chose some others because of them being less frequented but I'd have to ask the misses.
i know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I was dumb forgot my password. I would love any help you can offer me
@Jedidiah Elijah I really appreciate your reply. I found the site through google and I'm trying it out atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
Good question. Counter Assault is a solid bear spray and very well known. I’ve never had to use it fortunately so I can’t tell you. But i’d rather have it than not.
Hey bud! Thanks man. Yeah I know. I knew it was 1,200 hundred but i said 12,000. It’s a life problem I often get mixed up. I corrected in the description but meh, i still get a few comments here and there and I kick myself every time for making that error. Thanks for bringing it up nicely and thanks for pointing it out as I’m always trying to get things right for the people watchin’. Cheers 🍻
Great video. I am 71 years, average condition. The Avalanche Lake hike was super (great views all the way). Saint Mary Falls/Virginia Falls hike was great. Went second week in Oct., not crowded.
Thanks for the video. I want to do the Iceberg Lake trail, and am keeping my fingers crossed that the Highland Trail from Logan's Pass will be open at the end of June this year. Last year, I visited Glacier in mid June, and the Highland Trail was still closed due to snow.
lol 12,000 ft. no mountain in glacier is 12,000 ft . i get what you meant 😉1200ft. lol again in the background i heard 14,000ft. you are way off my guy
this is great video. im from canada. this makes me wanna do this next summer 2022 main goal GNP- Kalisper AIRPORT. coz I'll be going to THE CANADIAN ROCKIES in few daps. GNP. this made me decide to SUBSCRIBE. love this. thank you so much. love the naration too. this place is so beautiful. The CANADIAN ROCKIES - SOOO beautiful too. make it your bucket list. \
Yo man I gotta recommend the whole swiftcurent pass hike, especially in late june when Red Rock Falls is at full power. Absolutely spectacular and the best hike Ive ever been on. A little sketchy up high with narrow paths and steep snowy slopes, but the view on the other side of Heavens Peak is one to behold.
Hey bud! Yeah little did I know shortly after this the whole world shut down. Crazy. Glad to hear you’re planning to get out there. Thanks for the kind words
BTW, the mountains there are sedimentary rock (Argilite) and not granite. And there are green and red Argilite in the Park. Cracker Lake was first hike there and I didn't have my SLR camera with me. I had the privilege of being a Jammer (Red Bus driver) back in 1975. We had to know some geology, history, mountain names, etc. for our tours. I drove Bus #86-- best summer of my life!
Wow, thanks for the additional info my man. SLR, man I remember when I had one of those. Also I have a bud driving there during the summers. He's numer 80 something. I have to ask him now since it would be so crazy if it was bus # 86.
@@lifeisforadv There were about 35 buses, and the numbers ran from #79 to #112. This fleet was put into service from 1936 to 1939. But obviously, they started the numbering system of the buses sometime earlier than that. I have seen photos of the buses before this set and they looked like big boxes on a chassis.
Fixed long ago, check description, but thank you for your critiques that hopefully stem from a place of helping others have a better hiking experience.
But it is mandatory on these trails and from what I understand they are all regulated to be good and you don’t save by buying before so honestly just get it while you are there at a cabellas or something
Love the video! I have a question. Are these trails open as of right now? I plan on driving out there next week and was interested in hiking the Grinelle trail
Hey what's up man! Congrats, you'll love it. But this video was shot last fall so I don't have any recent experience as to what is currently closed or open. I know, by now, you've probably already googled this but here are a few links to find out more info. All trails is a good resource but not always up to date but a good backup to double-check things. Good luck and if you remember, let me know how your trip goes. I'd be super curious to head there now just to see what really is open or closed and how they are handling it. Cracker Lake?? Really?? having lived near Glacier for 35+ years (until last year) and having hiked well over 5000 trail miles and over 100 mountain summits and dozens upon dozens of nights backcountry camping and/or fishing, i can easily say, there are dozens of better hikes than Cracker Lake. most every hike in Glacier is worthy, but to not include hikes to gorgeous passes such as Swiftcurrent Pass, Two Medicine Pass, Pitimakan Pass, Boulder Pass or Siyeh Pass instead of Cracker Lake is criminal (not really). if you want to take in the color Cracker Lake, climb Mt. Siyeh. I'm lookin at a picture of me and friends atop it right now. and the view to the lake 4000 ft below is spectacular. as you explore the areas i mentioned above, you'll soon discover why the passes and their nearby climbable peaks are far superior to horse trails into lakes....
