Great insight, Stephen. I consistently use the law of reciprocity all the time. In fact last week I offered to help an FMCG client with a very small free project. It turned out to be a great paying client this week. To be fair it doesn’t always happen that fast, but it definitely works. There’s a caveat of course, and you need to be really careful who you offer that level of service to, as it doesn’t always work out to your advantage.
