I originally thought this deck was brain dead "haha branded fusion go brrr" I've been watching a bunch of different videos on this deck and I feel insanely stupid just trying to follow everything. Really nice presentation, good video!
But you can use the already used mirrorjade :) as the dark monster. The only difference will be, that Cartesia will be banished and not come back after using branded in red.
I've tried this deck at locals/Dueling book for the past 2 weeks and I find that they're more issues than benefits with this lineup in the current metagame. It now loses to more hand traps like Droll, Veiler, Imperm, Nib, Gamma, which almost every deck is now playing or siding because of SHS/Purrely/Mathmech. Most decks are running at least 9 hand traps or 15 if you're playing SHS/Purrely/Mathmech. It definitely was better when not every deck was running at least 9 hand traps.
The archetype has ways to play around all of those handtraps if you build correctly. Droll doesn't matter because you can play in the draw phase or end phase. Nibiru doesn't matter because you have so many ways to play on the opponent's turn after stopping at summon number 4 or just playing in the end phase. Gamma hits the field, just summon iron dash with gamma. Veiler or imperm can be dodged with any of the fusion effects. Handtraps don't suck for branded any worse than other decks. You just have to know what resources are available to use around them.
@@FobbitMedic I agree with everything you just said, but from my experience its just easier to do that with the standard version of the deck. I find that you can't play around a lot of the stated hand traps with the keeper build as effectively. In general, you have to play into those hand traps without any backup more often.
@@donaldmiller2437 the keepers build is just for higher seeling,it's not good against handtraps. I , for one , prefer playing with bystials and étude to Syncro on opponents turn to protects myself against evenly matched specifically without playing dragoon. Also you don't have to play ad lib because it doesn't do anything in the hand other than being discard fodder, something mercurier, the counter trap and shrouded and other such cards are better at being
Oops! I was bulk recording in prep for a family member having surgery and me not being able to record for a while. Definitely had other things on my mind 😅. The combos still stand
Combo 3 (6:00) would you not play Deployment first to help Aluber dodge Imperm? Great video by the way, very helpful and the quality is amazing. Appreciate the stacked deck too so the combos look nice and smooth.
I mean, doesn't that apply to pretty much any normal summon starter? Getting Droll'd after normal summoning Aluber hurts just as bad. What would you replace it with that wouldn't be susceptible to interruption???
If you have cartesia on field when you normal summon alluber: If they attempt to imperm or veiler alluber, chain cart to fuse and use alluber as material. This removes alluber from the field before imperm/veiler has a chance to negate it. They can only negate monsters face up on the field. If alluber isn't on field, the imperm/veiler resolve without effect and you still search off alluber
Yup, it's an easy way to get another fusion needed or a live mirrorjade if used once already. I agree, it has more potential than locking as you can revive ANYthing
@@ManegedWarrior seriously tho, some of the branded traps are absurd. I'm working with sword right now to try and have a whole lot more flexibility with Albion when I'm dumping lubellion from deck. However the naming conventions on this deck are incomprehensible. We need more fusions so all the Bystial cards can be confusing
Just put together my Branded Despia deck a while ago and trying to learn it so this video really helps. Sad part is..... i made the deck purely because i like the lore of the series, never realized it was so strong lol.
Modern YuGiOh combos are way too long ha it's a bit of a meme. Like, these combos never end, you could just go on forever. While doing these thing your opponent I just watching you, doing nothing, the entire game is based around using a hand trap at the right time.
Absolutely disgusting. I hate this deck with a passion because of the braindead toxic players that seem to flock to this deck that seemingly dodges every single banlist while my decks get hit for no reason like with Sacred Tree (Not even playing Runick cause that it also toxic). But I'm going to be picking up this deck now since the banlist did not hit it and I want to smite those toxic people at my locals and hope that the deck gets banned since almost everything I touch gets hit on the list regardless of what it is just as long as I play it. So thanks for the info!
Love it! Showing this to the ppl who are just defaulting to gimmick lock without even exploring the possibilities this deck has. Also how about making a vid about alterations in the combo based on when you are interupted? Or is that way too hard to make?
Normal Aluber, search Branded Fusion: get Drolled, go full combo anyways Normal Keeper of Dragon Magic, search Instant Fusion: get Drolled, go to Game 2. 🤷🏻
Lol what… in your scenario… how would you go full combo after getting drolled that also doesn’t apply to keeper??? Normal Aluber only search for branded cards… Normal keeper search for branded fusion, fusion deployment or instant fusion. Again with 4 cards in hand to help play
@@Dooms_Day_King if you search for branded fusion with keeper then youre basically playing a bad aluber. the primary reason to play keeper is for those other cards like instant fusion. if youre gonna play round droll anyways then i wouldnt bother at least However i can see the appeal, keepers ceiling is very high
@@avatarmufasa3628 the primary reason to play keeper is to search whichever card you need based on your hand… same with Aluber… if you already have fusion, you just search for lost… it literally all depends on your opponent, the board state and your hand…
@@Dooms_Day_King The primary reason to play it was to have 4 copies of instant fusion to help play round ash. If you play keeper and dont have branded fusion in hand then you have to choose between playing round the ash or playing round droll (and i suspect youll play round the latter this format). And youve dedicated 3 additional normal summons and a discard to do so, along with a bigger engine and thus less room for non-engine (which matters a lot for the current meta, it means youll have less handtraps or less boardbreakers). And the persons comment at the top is a reasonable critique of running keeper. You are more vulnerable to some handtraps than in a pure build. The counter argument is the higher capacity to play round ash and just a higher ceiling with less known cards in hand To be clear i think this is a great video, i like the first combos without keeper. but the ones with keeper i dont think are appropriate (or more specifically optimal) for the current meta, even though i think in a combo video they look very impressive. In practice, we have to take on the top decks and I think decks should be built with those in mind.
@@avatarmufasa3628 I definitely see your side. I guess to me it’s like this… I used to work for Walmart, and they would make us build “wow features” basically displays that the market manager loved from other stores. But when I would try to build a “wow feature” to impress my market manager, I was told to bring it down… idk if that makes sense… how can you build a wow feature if they don’t let you build a wow feature? It’s the same with yugioh… players don’t play the cards until someone decides to try them out, but then don’t try them out with the fear of losing… it’s like a paradox if you will
great vid! only one thing tho. since cartesia is main phase only, in the combo isnt it better to ativate the mirrorjade in main 1 to get cartesia on the field and activate it? that way u can summon it back the next turn as well
1. You already used the quem effect to reborn cartesia on your turn so you won't get the mirrorjade reborn if you fuse for granguignol with it on the same turn 2. You play into nibiru with cartesia as your 5th summon which gains no advantage to summon in your main phase in this combo for the reason in the first point If you opened with lost in hand you also lose out on a second search
Great video, fun combos and great explanations with clear instructions. Thanks and subbed! Deck list? :D Also I'm new to Branded, I see a lot of people playing with Bystial Lubellion, do you think it's needed? and are other Bystial cards needed? I ask because Bystial Lubellion is so expensive. I cry T_T The only thing I ever see people do with BL is to get Branded Lost on the field. Is that its only utility besides being fusion mat? Sorry I have many questions. Thanks again, great vid XD
Great video, very good combos and well structured shooting. 4:21 In that combo you can also use Mirrojade's effect to banish Bystial Lubellion by sending Brigrand (or another fusion) and use Quem's effect to summon back Cartesia, as the previuos combo where you banished Alluber.
You can actually just use Cartesia's own effect to summon her during your end phase because a fusion monster was sent to your GY this turn (Albion the branded was tributed for bystial lubellion)
As someone new who is trying to learn this deck from scratch I must say that this video is alot to take in. I am practicing the first two combos now, and I hope one of the combo shows the strongest board you can end with. (I only watch up to the first two combos).
Aluber search branded fusion (hope none of them don’t get hand trapped) activate branded fusion dump albaz and (depending on what you’re playing against) summon Albion or lubellion then mirrorjade.
2 most important things. Use Albion line to get the best boards. Albion lines are able to get branded lost on the field. Use Lubellion to get a less powerful board much safer. Lubellion’s line is very good at using chain blocking to get its effects off.
On combo 1 when activating Branded in Red on opponent turn, how does Quem get her effect on chain link 2 to bring back mirrorjade? I thought Quem states if a card leaves the extra deck, target 1 fallen of albaz or a card that mentions it in the GY and special summon it . What left the extra deck for Quem to act as chain link 2?
In combo three, I think it’s better to lead fusion deployment instead of opening so you can dodge imperm. Imperm shuts down the combo more than droll does. You don’t get your quem search, but you can still make more plays then you would be able to getting aluber impermed.
In the combos where I activate a quick play in the end phase its not set. Albion has the option to set OR add to hand. I add the quick play and then activated it
this channel has a ton of good branded information. i tested keeper last format and it was really good, but this format i dont think so. keeper makes a lot of low impact hand traps a lot more effective. if you do decide to play keeper you absolutely have to play crossout and impermanence b/c imperm on keeper is brutal.
For higher ceiling and better play around ash. "The stronger you want your endboard to be the harder you have to play into handtraps" is an universal Yu-Gi-Oh law
It's almost like Branded Despia biggest core play is using Branded Fusion, of which there's literally only 3 cards you can go into right away. And among those three cards, it's not like there's limited af fusion material or something.
