True, I'm brazilian and people need to see that Brazil is much more than Rio and São Paulo. I live in the safest and in the cleanest city of Brazil, Curitiba city.
The French girl not saying a positive stereotype about France, and the American girl not saying a negative stereotype about America are the most French and American things ever😂 I think UK tops the spot in comedy, but if they could only choose from THOSE countries, than France should've won. France has long been renowned for its comedies.
I'm happy that it was a positive and friendly interaction from all the ladies in the video. It shows how it should be between all of us. It's exhausting in the comments at times when it becomes a nationalistic competition or a way to voice our distaste for certain people or nationalities instead of collaboration and the furthering of knowledge and understanding.
Stereotypes are simplified and often distorted generalizations about groups of people, which can have negative consequences in various spheres, including anthropological, linguistic and psychological. Let's explore these flaws at different levels and how stereotypes can become speech crimes. ### Anthropological, Linguistic and Psychological Defects of Stereotypes 1. **Global Level**: - **Anthropological**: Global stereotypes can promote a monolithic view of diverse cultures, ignoring the richness and complexity of cultural identities. This can lead to a lack of respect and understanding between nations. - **Linguistic**: The language used to describe groups can be loaded with prejudices, perpetuating distorted and dehumanizing views. - **Psychological**: Belief in stereotypes can lead to the dehumanization of individuals, resulting in discrimination and violence. 2. **Continental Level**: - **Anthropological**: Continental stereotypes, such as those that associate certain traits with entire continents (ex: "Africans are all poor"), ignore internal diversity and socioeconomic realities. - **Linguistic**: Language can reinforce divisions, such as the use of pejorative terms that become common in discourses on certain continents. - **Psychological**: These stereotypes can create a feeling of inferiority or superiority between peoples, affecting self-esteem and intercontinental relations. 3. **National Level**: - **Anthropological**: National stereotypes can lead to prejudices that affect politics and international relations, such as the idea that certain countries are "more violent" or "less civilized". - **Linguistic**: The use of slang or expressions that dehumanize national groups can perpetuate hostility. - **Psychological**: The internalization of stereotypes can affect national identity and social cohesion. 4. **Regional Level**: - **Anthropological**: Regional stereotypes can create internal divisions in a country, leading to rivalries and conflicts. - **Linguistic**: Language can be used to ridicule or belittle regional characteristics, reinforcing divisions. - **Psychological**: This can result in a feeling of inferiority among people from certain regions. 5. **District Level**: - **Anthropological**: District stereotypes can marginalize communities, leading to public policies that do not meet their needs. - **Linguistic**: The use of terms that delegitimize the local culture can create a hostile environment. - **Psychological**: Discrimination can affect the mental health and well-being of individuals. 6. **Personal Level**: - **Anthropological**: Personal stereotypes can lead to misunderstandings and interpersonal conflicts, harming relationships. - **Linguistic**: Language that perpetuates stereotypes can be prejudicial in everyday interactions, leading to offenses and misunderstandings. - **Psychological**: The internalization of stereotypes can affect self-image and self-esteem, leading to mental health problems. ### Stereotypes as Speech Crimes Stereotypes can become speech crimes when they result in hate speech, incitement to violence or discrimination. This happens when: - **Dehumanization**: The language used to describe a group can dehumanize it, leading to justifications for violence or discrimination. - **Incitement to Hate**: Stereotypes that incite hatred against a specific group can be considered crimes, depending on the legislation of each country. - **Discrimination**: The spread of stereotypes can result in discriminatory practices, which are illegal in many contexts. ### Conclusion Stereotypes have prejudicial effects on multiple levels, from the global to the personal. They not only distort reality, but can also lead to speech crimes that affect the dignity and rights of individuals. Awareness and education are fundamental to combat these stereotypes and promote a fairer and more inclusive society.
Ela é a cara do Brasil! Amooooooooo!!!!
Bad streotype of each country ( not offense to anyone ): -USA : don't know geography, -Brazil : many cheaters, - Italy : too proud of their references such as food or football , - France : rude people, - Belgium : only eats waffles and chocolate, - Spain : speak too fast and too loud
how is eating waffles and chocolates a bad stereotype tho xD (i'm belgian and if there's one thing i like about my country its waffles and chocolate xD)
I got some too USA: stupid people. Brazil: lots of crime. Italy: snobby and arrogant people. France: weird food. Belgium: people in Brussels are racist. Spain: they hate tourists.
Lately all of these related channels have had bad American reps it's unfortunate. I miss the good days when we had Christina and Callie, probably the two best ones from there.
i am a person that hates steryotipes and prejudice. Many people waste oportunities to really know some people or some places because of that. Never leave other people think for yourself. I know it's very difficult but it's important to be an open mind person. Try to research, discover for yourself.Try to understand more others cultures and reasons why places or coutries, like people in geneeal are different and in some cases completely unlike, including in the same countries. That's some of reasons i hate steryotipes in general.
“Americans kind” Ehh.. the Americans that you’ve met were definitely from the Midwest or smth, you gotta meet some NY folk and you’ll revisit that thought..😭 (I’m American btw 🤞)
Or California and Nevada people. As an American, I was watching that shaking my head. She seemed to be confusing "friendliness" with "kindness", which are two completely different things. I can't believe the American girl was nodding her head in agreement.
que le tocara a julia hacer de aguila fue algo que si o si debia hacer ella jajaja this was the best video in months and Im not saying that you don´t make good content but this one was my favorite by far
@@hayst4999 afterwards some Europeans are nicer like the English, the Italians or the Spanish for example. They are "friendly" like the Americans. Those who are reputed to be "mean" are mainly the French and the Germans... but then we cannot make generalizations.
@@briantravelman Americans are much more accepting of different races than most countries in the world. My wife works with a black English girl who moved from London to the US for work, and she said that even in London which has so many different people from different cultures, she experienced racism. Not in the US though.
Julia is too beautiful and sexy. Funny as well I like watching World friends whenever Julia is in it. It's like she can carry the whole segment because of her craziness and she's enjoying it as well ❤😂
Honestly this was a great new way to socialize with others around the world and learn about different cultures. While I agree with the ladies that some things could be improved, I think it's a great place to begin.
@@fabricio4794 Okay, but italian men are also very friendly, I have some friends from Italy, and all of them are very kind and nice, a lot better than europeans in general.
As an American, I can tell you with certainty that the US is NOT a "kind" country. I guess she met some cool ones, but to say "everyone" is like that could not be further from the truth. The fact is people treat each other really badly here, and it seems to have gotten worse in recent years. American so-called "culture" is really more like a cult of selfishness, arrogance, and violence. To be honest, I'm sick of it.
Every country has bad people, I've met some folks from the States and pretty much all of them were down to earth chilled people, I think politics in the US being so polarizing also helps create this image that Americans are rude and entitled but I don't think all Americans are bad, it's the bad eggs that give the States a reputation lol
As an American, I was shaking my head at that part. She confused "kindness" with "friendliness". Friendly and sociable I can agree, especially abroad. But "kind", absolutely not. Everything you said in your last statement is unfortunately true. I'm sick of it too. Americans are making this country unlivable.
My bad stereotypes about each country is: USA - know nothing about geography and wants to be the best in everything, France - rude people and boring, Belgium - i know nothing😂, Brazil - wants to do memes with everything and criminals, Spain - very rude people as well (i've talked to many and all of them were rude when got to know i was from Brazil) and Italy - pickpockets😂
@@nina_127 i see it as a bad thing, and i mean when an american is doing something wrong but still thinks he is the best, over-confidency isn't good. I think if you are the best you don't gotta be jealous about others when they hit a good level, as India for example, India is almost becoming a superpower, or China. I also think everyone can have a good moment to hit the top.
@@TimeToSingChannel I agree with you there, but I think there are many Americans who are appreciative of the accomplishments/level of other countries, we just happen to also be very proud of our own 🙂 Viva o Brasil! 🇺🇲🤝🇧🇷

Off the top of my head: France: 70 million inhabitants, 50% atheist, 20% Christian, 20% muslim (if not yet, getting there soon), 10% other. L'Ouvre, Notredame, Eiffel Tower. Writers: Victor Hugo, Maupassant, Zola, Balzac, Sartre, Simone de Beauvoir, Stendhal, Baudelaire, Rimbaud. Actors and directors: Belmondo, Alain Delon, Omar Sy, Depardieu, Jean Reno, Louis Jouvet, Brigitte Bardot, Jeanne Moreau, Clouzot, Chabrol, Truffaut, Godard, Claude Lelouch, Juliette Binoche. Singers: Christophe, Jacques Brel (Belgian, but French by choice), Michel Delpech, Yves Montand, Edith Piaf, Nino Ferrer, Michel Sardou. Belgium: 10 million inhabitants, chocolate, Brussels. 60% Dutch, 40% French. Got lazy to write about the other countries.
?? 20% Muslims in France?? Are you crazy?? 😂🤣 I am French and I can tell you that there are fewer of them, less than 10%. But catholic culture in France is very present (it was one of the first Christian countries in Europe). There are not 20% Christians in France but more, many more. 😉
I think it's important to emphasize that folks, we're talking about stereotypes and, as the word itself says, they're not true or they're an exaggerated reality about something. I don't know why you were so offended by the stereotypes when the girls didn't even say it was true or in this case agree with them, they just said that it was true that they were a stereotype about their country, not that it was a reality of where they live. I saw people who were offended by the French woman not having protected herself from the attack when at the beginning of it all, she didn't even have an attack. It was just the American saying what was asked: "the most meaniest stereotype about each country" (which does not necessarily have to be its reality)
We are not mean in France ... 🥲 We are, perhaps, more direct and rude in our words and our gestures it's completely true but we are therefore more sincere. And at our house France, we love you if you do as we do in our country. Maybe that's why strangers see us as "mean people" or more chauvinist. But we love you! We're just less friendly than Americans, and people from the south like Italy and Spain that's true. Sorry guys 🥰 But when we love you it is completely sincere. I have already heard that we are quite cold like the Germans or the Russians for example. Don't completely agree with that though ^^
@@eduardosantos5078 No you're right, the French can be mean. As a French person, I cannot say the opposite. 😔 Afterwards, we don't really like hypocrisy. And the problem is that in some countries, the " hyper friendly side" can be quite hypocritical since they often spit on you from behind. In France, we say things directly and we show when we don't like it.
Channel producers, just a suggestion: have you ever thought about using an A.I. audio plugin to remove this 50/60 hz buzzing? It would be easy to do it before editing 🙂
The French woman doesn't care at all about her country. She openly says that all French people are mean and bad, and she doesn't care at all. It's a huge cliché, and she doesn't even defend her country. It's crazy! As a French person, it made me angry to see someone denigrating her own country in front of people from other nationalities. It makes us look terrible
After years of french bashing, the stereotype of french being mean/rude become a common thing. So much than french people start to believe it themselves. And she is entertaining that stereotypes… Does any other country act this way ? Does American say « we’re stupid big fat dudes, killing people overseas to bring them democracy ». No, only French are bashing themselves this way
Observation: Unfortunately the american is right, so unfortunately this is not a stereotype, it is true, so it is sad to admit this, but in Brazil crime pays, just look at who our current president is for example.
