Loved it more so than the ,nothface jacket guys video. His one gave me biased ,I'm better than you vibes. A traveller ought to be excited about his travels rather than a critique .China is awesome if you open your eyes to it. Without media bias .
Because….Countering Chinese influence fund amounts to $300,000,000 per annum. From House-Foreign Affairs: Join us on this great cause making America great by badmouthing China in whatever you do.🥹
Lived in China for 4years had to leave during the COVID outbreak...i miss it everyday...But after watching 4 hours of Shanghai felt i went back there for a moment. Thank you!
If you're in trouble or anything you need help, simply ask the police as most Chinese will do, coz their motto is to serve the people. Don't be afraid, most of them are unarmed, totally different from police of other countris.
@@shaguge Cuz they have strict regulations and most of time there is no need for them to be armed. But they are equipped with other useful tools which won't cause death. If the person involved dies, it will be a very troublesome matter for the police.
Thank you gentlemen for showing the true view of China. I'm from Taiwan and my dream is to take a long trip traveling through out all the cities in China. Due to family responsibilities, I can not do that until I'm retired. You guys have given me a taste of that dream. Also I want to thank you for showing the world how beautiful China really is. We are sick and tired of the propagandas and lies that western governments and media trying to brainwash people with. It's sickening.
My father's family is from Taipéi, my father lives in Wuxi, China and is very happy after 35 years that the Taiwan regime did not allow him to renew his documents to return because he had escaped from the island to Uruguay. Today he is a businessman in China.
Love the tour guide. All the RU-vidrs who visited China for the first time should get a tour guide like Jim. Watched so many China vlogs, the language is a huge barrier.
By far the best Shanghai travel video I have watched, covered so many aspects of this mega city, which most tourists could not cover. You guys should consider traveling full time in China.
I saw some cyberpunk videos of Chinese cities on Instagram, almost all comments are saying oh this is CCP propaganda, paid bots, paid actors, radical politics etc.. But watching your vidoes is such a feast, absolutely well-made and premuim content, would like to see you guys have more China series.
The ccp hv no need to pay bots actor....visit China..all the western anti China narrative will disappear..and you will be the new unpaid bots...vlogger...vs western propaganda 😅😊
So glad you enjoyed the video! It is a huge point of importance for me to do my best to show the similarities between cultures and bridge the gap amongst nations
Nice video bro!!! I really appreciate the way you experience the whole trip with an objective perspective, eager to embrace the unique Chinese culture shock, whether it's the local food different from the west or the surprising massage. Definitely a big thank for you making such a marvellous documentary to us.Look forward to your next video!🥰
Such a high-quality travel video, which introduces a country's human environment in such detail, is only available on demand. I hope this video can get more traffic.❤
Took me about 4 days to finish but loved exploring China through your eyes. I kept correcting you everytime you said thank you in Chinese lmaooo. Tim corrected you once but I think he gave up. He was an excellent guide!!!
Making noise while having noodles or soups is more of a Japanese culture. Most Chinese would be annoyed by that noise. Kids would be scolded by their parents for being ill-mannered. (Sounds slobbery and unhygienic)
Actually, there are many traditional rules, such as not tapping the side of the bowl with chopsticks or holding the bowl with one hand underneath, which are both similar to the ways of beggars. It is also considered unlucky to insert the chopsticks vertically into the bowl, as it is a way to offer sacrifices to the dead, and so on.
Shanghai is one of China's 'ancient' quintessential city, where the old and the traditional, meets the modern and the contemporary. The 'old' and classic Oriental Tower and the 'new' ultramodern Shanghai Tower amply demonstrates this contrast. What a great and unique welcome massage, Shanghai style! Sending love from PH!
Shanghai is not an ancient city in China. It has a history of only a few hundred years. There are many cities in China with a history of over a thousand years
I'm from Shanghai, China. For personal reasons, my daughter went to school in Austria since childhood, but she is still of China nationality. Sometimes when chatting with her, she said China was horrible, so I asked her who told her this. She said classmates and teachers, and I asked her, have they been to China? She replied that none of them had been to China. My God, the brainwashing propaganda was so horrible that it almost turned my daughter, a China native, into a person who was afraid of her own country.
take her more bk to China n let her experience China herself. I take my daughter back to China every summer n she loves it n she's been telling her frds n classmates that China is GREAT even comparing to the States.
Yeah, China has stigma or a lot of bad raps. Look it up and see for yourself. I’m sorry this happened to your country. But you can start the point of view of people by starting within yourself. Start by being kind. Make narrow minded people believe otherwise. Goodluck. Just spread 💕 that is our purpose here on earth to live like Jesus who sacrificed a lot for humankind.❤❤❤
@@wwei2623 For personal reasons, she hasn't returned to China for many years, and now she can't speak Chinese. I'm really worried. How can a China person forget her mother tongue I'm planning to send her back to school in Shanghai I really can't compliment the basic education in Austria.
Nihaoma is a direct translation of "how are you" but it is not a typical way of greeting here in China. It sounds a bit pushy in a way that someone needs to answer something out of politeness. The best way is nihao which means hello. Good enough.
I watched the whole thing and that was a great walk around! I also watched the other guys videos and I need to say that you were the most sensitive, appreciative and respectful of the three the entire time, when you made comments or dealing with the locals. Congrats!
Great video! I can't believe I watched from beginning to the end. I went to Shanghai many times, there were still new things I found in this video, like the stores, ........Thanks.
@@hannibalyin8853 that is an indian , you should say free kashemere, free assam, free punjab, free manipur, free skkim, free west begal , free tamil naru............... those are not india
Part one, that guy isn't “another vlogger”, he's a security guard. He said to the person doing the live singing, "I've told you once, don't be too loud, as long as you can hear it yourself."
Yes. The guard was just trying to remind him not to bother other people in a public place. He was singing too loud. Nothing to do with so called “foreigners”, okay? That was hilarious if you could understand both Chinese and English.
The local youtuber was singing a song in catonese, to be honest not very good perfomance. The street safety or cleaness mantanence guy just told him please not make noise that so loud, be low key to not disturb the others.
Thanks for the amazing throughly reported document from Shanghai. Give us a full perspective of the city. Feel the vibe and atmosphere of the city. Shy but friendly and curious Chinese people. Authentic and delicious food. Reallly bring the great and unbiased review. Danke 🎉
Gentlemen,Thanks you guys so much for this new remarkable video from Shanghai, China to shows these amazing skyscrapers, hotels, restaurants, etc. in January of 2024❤❤❤
Gentlemen, welcome to Shanghai, China this week in great joy & peace on your first trip to Asia to explores this remarkable Asian country in January of 2024❤❤❤
Wow the 3 legends ! Hello Mac ! Love this video of you and boys Ali & Harry. You guys are always a lot of fun together . 😁❤️ love this documentary about China. Very interesting.
'Have you eaten?' is a traditional Chinese greeting, currently more common among acquaintances. It reminds us of times when daily meals were a central part of the culture. Nowadays, 'How are you?' (Ni Hao) is the usual greeting, especially with strangers.
It’s my first time finished watching a 4 hour YT video. Well done, love your way of sharing. I do want to visit the marriage market and try the local street food that you had.
Thank you for watching, so glad you enjoyed it and made it all the way through! The marriage market was such a cool experience and the food was insanely good
One more of your best videos Mac. Looking forward to many more of your enjoyable and interesting videos. Where can I buy one of your Perception sweatshirts?
Thank you very much, I am so glad as this one took a long time to edit! Perception sweaters can be found here: worldperception.store/products/sweatshirt
Just randomly came across this video & I gotta say you kept me glued to it for the whole video! the only times I've sat this long watching something was when I watched gone with the wind! 😂😂 it's made me want to go to China it looks an amazing place.. Great work! 👌 Melly from Wales UK
When I visited Beijing back in 2018 this is what I intended to do but I had iPhone 6 Plus and it didn’t have enough memory. It’s a once in a lifetime trip and thanks for packing us with you!! Loved it .. I was @ the airport in Shanghai flown in from California .. 15 hrs 30 mins. … the airport was insane we missed our flight had to take a taxi across the city to lesser known airport .. felt like as far as the eye could see was urban sprawl
I really enjoyed your video. You went to a lot of places than I did even I was born there. I will visit some places next time when I go back to see my parents and friends. I miss Shanghai. Again, thank you.@@worldnomac
Loved that you do ur china video all in one bro brilliant literally watched to the end food tour guy was pretty epic & harry / Ali is always a great bonus ❤ greetings from Ireland 🇮🇪
@anglohan5428 As a Xinjiang Uyghur, I think you should be brainwashed, wake up, man! Don't be fooled by Western media. If you come to Xinjiang, I will show you the real life of Uyghur people
I can’t believe for the FIRST time I finish a 4 hours video on not only RU-vid but also internet. Wow. By the way, “Have you eaten” is usually used between acquaintances. Kinda awkward between strangers. “Nihao” is fine.
Never thought I would watch,...and finish a video this long. But I just could not stop,...LOL! Best travel video I have seen in ages! It's great to see you are so open-minded to-and genuine with trying to understand a culture so different from ours, without judgement or prejudice. Need more people like you! I immediately subscribed and look forward seeing more of your adventures! Safe travels ;-)
wow! happy to see you all.. Always waiting for your vlog together with Harry, Ali, Luke, Yad Ventures and Danydev. God bless y'all guys. Forever your number 1 fan. We wish that we could bump in to y'all one day 🤗.
Hello thank u for sharing ur adventure n happy to see the three of u hope u will blog more together because I also follow harry n Ali they been here also from Philippines we I congratulates u for the details of ur content ...goodluck on your channel
As a local Shanghainese, I have to say you covered lots of the aspects of the city which is good but you and 99% of those western you tubers missed out the essence of Shanghai, the night life. I would say Shanghai has the best nightclubs in Asia. If you and boys ever come back again, make a video about that and I’m pleased to your guide.
That’s actually the one video on the list that I really wanted to make but just didn’t have enough time! Email me your contact info at contact@worldnomac.com so we can plan this for the next time I’m back!
I stayed up till 2am last night to watch your video and it is very interesting. Ali is right, I also found the experience of the tallest tower not as good as the Oriental Pearl Tower, which is a bit expensive and has a worse view. BTW, if you come to China next time, I would recommend you to visit Kanas in Xinjiang (the natural scenery is very beautiful) or Guangzhou to experience the authentic Cantonese cuisine.
As a Shanghainese, I think Jim is the best guide I have ever seen for the foreign people who come to visit Shanghai. Most places are very local, even to many Chinese out of Shanghai, don't know these real local places which lets you know the local people's daily life in Shanghai.
Love your Shanghai video. Just subscribed. You're a very charming and generous dude. Hope you can visit more China cities such as Chongqing and Harbin.
I watched your video for 4 hours!!!!!!! Love love it! I used to live in Shanghai and now in DC area, didn’t go back for 6 years and just bought my ticket back to Shanghai! Yay! 😂 Thank you for your efforts to show the world of the real part of China, I am so looking forward to eat the local Chinese food and it’s so hard to find the good Chinese restaurants here in northern Virginia. 😂😂
The video is very good. In the video, I would like to suggest to you: just say "hello" when greeting people. There is no need to say "how are you". This is not in line with Chinese habits. Also, "Have you eaten?" Please don't say this when you see someone you don't know, because this kind of greeting is not suitable for greeting when you meet for the first time.
Oh, thank you for your recommendation ! I went to Yu Garden in 2004, Although I have been working in Shanghai since the summer of 2005, I have not visited many tourist attractions in person, but I have watched a lot of them in various videos@@917amazon
