I think ethnic cultural differences also need to be taken into consideration. Dating is very different between white brits than it is between black brits
@@kareem1698 White people SEEM to take the dating/relationship process quicker in the UK. Black brits are known for 100 year talking stages 🥴 Either, as a collective we're a lot more cautious or we're scared
Yeah I think most of the things about dating in the U.K. aren’t talking about the black people. Most websites referencing the U.K. ignore what us blacks are doing tbh
@Jasmine Henderson Im from America.lol And thats the point America segregates. There are two Americas. There are many things that are culturally specific in the black community that whites in America are clueless to.As I said its the same here too.You misunderstood the comment.
I’m British and have quite a few American friends. We’ve talked about the differences before, and have always concluded that the biggest difference is that Americans are more happy/open to set people up with people, or to be set up on a date... British people will want to meet someone in a social group gathering first! My American friends say their neighbour will say “I have a friend who you should date”, and that isn’t done over here! (If that makes any sense at all!)
I have strong feelings about all of this 😭😭 British men were always so laid back and it was cool at first but eventually I needed some American forwardness. Dating can only be but so “laid back” because at a certain point if I don’t know your feelings, we’re wasting time. BUT still looking for my British papi soooooo be back soon lol So good! Loved this one Paige!
It’s the American forwardness for me. I feel like I’m allergic to British men now, I need to know how you are feeling otherwise what are we doing here?!
@@PaigeMariah - Hi luv If Mick doesn't want to date you or admit to dating you, TELL HIM I AM LIMBERING UP AS A SUBSTITUTE AND I AM WAITING TO COME ON. I AM SURE HE WOULD LOVE TO DATE YOU BUT DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO GO ABOUT IT. AS THEY SAY "A hard man is good to find.....eh I meant a good man is hard to find" Well i am a good, hard man.
This is the first time I finally can accept that you and Mike do not have dating vibes. In this video it totally seemed like you two could be cousins or something. Like your chemistry with each other is more familial than romantic for sure. BUT if that ever changes....THAT would be a video that I would looooove!!! LOLOL As always Mike and Paige videos are some of my favorites! .......EDIT: ok yeah then this moment at 19:50 happened and I'm back to square one!! LOL Ya like messing with us I get it, and I LOVE it!!! Lmao
Paige & Mike back at it again!!! Love this video. Paige you and Mike are good friends and it shows Paige this video gave me so much laughter, Mike is my guy for real and it’s so much fun. The banter between you & Mike is great to see and the conversation was personal yet had good comedy in between as well Great content & great video Stay safe & healthy
This was hilarious!! But yes Caribbean parents want to meet who you are dating and no they won’t say we don’t like them but you will get the non word sounds mmhmm, eeen and Cho that basically mean we don’t like them or some will straight up say My spirit don’t tek dem.
@@PaigeMariah Spirit tek...is a very, very important cultural norm for Jamaicans. If your parents say it...they will never accept that person. Ever. Just the grandkids.
You're lucky to have found a friend like Mike. He seems like a really nice guy! Despite you both jokingly dismissing the dating thing.... I'm kinda hoping maybe things can blossom into something more between you both one day 😜
It depends on where in the UK they are from, in my own personal experience British men who come from up North can be quite confident when approaching women, the same can be said of Southern European men, especially Italy, Spain and Greece.🍯 UK
I have loved watching your journey! You are living my dream! I spent a summer abroad ( 22y ears ago) in London attending a Graduate level course through a partnership with my University & Lewisham College. I fell in love with the UK. I wish I would have been brave enough to make a move like you did! Bravo. Looking forward to watching your journey continue! I also love the chemistry between you and Mike! Wishing you Light & Love!
London is in a heatwave because we cannot cope with both of your hot selves being in the one video. Love the collab as usual. Primark Princess Paige and Magic Mike for life 💜💜
Personally as someone in the U.K. I don’t know anyone who would go on a double date during the ‘talking’ or ‘dating’ stages however I would when I’m in a relationship with someone but if me and my boyfriend meet up with my friend and her boyfriend I wouldn’t call it a double date I would just saying we’re two couples hanging out
Its interesting that there are differences however where there are similarities is dating and relationships are not really taught by school teachers or parents. And people subconsciously pick up what they see in their immediate environment and mainstream media so they emulate what they see and hear and when it don't work they move based on trial and error...what's your thoughts on this?
From my experience both The US and UK men are very good with approaching someone they're interested in...come to Toronto if you want to see reserved behaviour lolol
I don't drink alcohol, I have been there and done that. I have no judgement for anyone else having a good time because then I get to see the people getting the crunk on. Sometimes, it can be funny and well the other can be quite tragic. If I get to that point where everyone is well....not recognisable, then I go home. If I am with someone, I let them have a good time and think about how will they get home. I was a group thing when someone said, "What do you do when you are alone at home?" Not a great thing to say to someone, but I have beaten this guy at a couple of table tennis games, so...YAAASSS!!!
LOL!!! That intro Paige!! Too funny Sis! I almost believed you! I loved seeing Mikes reactions to these assumptions of his country, He seems like a very sweet guy and well mannered. Can't wait to see ya'lls next chat, The jokes are lit!
I feel whoever asks the other person on a date, they should pay. If I ask my boyfriend to go out somewhere nice, I’ll pay and vice versa. I would never ask someone out and then expect them to pay.
This was great, killer open haha😄many valid points on both cultural similarities 💯although I appreciate the assertion of American culture, American men can also still be disrespectful at times, they approach the table like theyre kings #extra and im american but most the men I've dated in USA haven't been American lol, but like you said sometimes culture doesnt even matter men will be men. I'd so be down to see a part 2, expanding on the nuances of expected cultural norms, trends and how people in the U.K. may differ in their PDA and dating activities! I understand interracial dating is more openly accepted in the U.K., which is cool --- aside the people who fetishize Black culture and features, so hope thats not a huge thing in UK (we ain't about that life 😂) love + light Paige & Mike 💓💓 Island gal 🇹🇹🇯🇲
Lol the comments about Paige and Mike are so funny. I feel like black British people take ages before introducing their partners to their parents. I certainly did.
I looooveee your videos Paige!!! 🙌🏾❤️✨ I cant imagine what London is like in the heat, it’s always sooo cold when I’m around 😭... anyways, lots of love from Kenya 🇰🇪❤️
Hey Mike I don't drink alcohol at all period you're not the only one Mike im here in the U.S doesn't bother me at all.👍🏼👍🏼👏🏼👌🏼 That also mean our livers are pure lol 🤣🤪
@@PaigeMariah NP babe, yeah the weather in London Right now reminds me of the weather in Miami when I went there, they also said there will be thunderstorms later this week so be careful x
Lol was Mike tryna convince or tell us you not dating 🤣😂great intro tho. Paige you're a goodness I've loved you since day one, keep building this love, beauty, joy, happiness and kindness. It's just amazing and beautiful watching you and Mike.
What if you guys start dating 💏.... I think you would make a good couple 😍 though the friendship is good keep entertaining and teaching us...I enjoy you guys together 😇
I don't pay on the first date, I split and for a good reason. What if I end up having 20 first dates with people and no second/third etc. I'm then throwing away bare cash. Happy to pay on a second date though.
You don’t need my permission to date Mike, but you have it most heartily. I just love both of you so much. He’s a darling and you are too! God bless you both. Jean from Arizona 🌴🌵🦎🦂🌻🌞🐍
In What world do guys not pay for a date ??? That seems extremely *LOW LIFE* to me, unless the woman is adamant its Not a Date, and insists she's paying for her meal or whatever, BUT I would still insist I'm paying.
yes, I basically took a full year off from dating. I think you may be referring to a video I made in Sept 2019 😅 time has passed & I’m just in a much a much better place
At last, an American in London who can confirm the U.K isn't always cold, wet and miserable... At the moment it's hot, humid..and a bit miserable if you can't find shade or air-con....
I would say dating in the uk in where you are (as I’m sure it is in the states) and with the whole parent approval it is completely different for races white parents if they have a problem won’t voice it but blacks will make their views heard
Why can't they just be FRIENDS?!?! Why are y'all always pushing this "dating/relationship narrative" between them? I'm tired of it so I can't imagine how Paige and Mike must feel. Sheesh!
@@fs1125 your mama's name must be Karen because that's certainly NOT I. I said what I said. Why keep harping on it is my point. They get it...everyone thinks they would make a cute couple. YOU commented twice on that fact on this video alone.
Only in America if a girl pay for the date she really really really like you because even if they pay for your date it's kind of a turn off the dam they don't like to be paying for dates
